1 C uando se acercaron a Jerusalén, y vinieron a Betfagé, al monte de los Olivos, Jesús envió dos discípulos,

And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,

2 d iciéndoles: Id a la aldea que está enfrente de vosotros, y luego hallaréis un asna atada, y un pollino con ella; desatadlos, y traédmelos.

Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.

3 Y si alguien os dice algo, decid: El Señor los necesita; y luego los enviará.

And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.

4 T odo esto aconteció para que se cumpliese lo dicho por medio del profeta, cuando dijo:

All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,

5 D ecid a la hija de Sión: He aquí que tu Rey viene a ti, Apacible, y sentado sobre un asna, Sobre un pollino, hijo de animal de yugo.

Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.

6 Y los discípulos fueron, e hicieron tal como Jesús les mandó;

And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,

7 y trajeron el asna y el pollino, y pusieron sobre ellos sus mantos; y él se sentó encima.

And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.

8 Y la multitud, que era muy numerosa, extendió sus mantos en el camino; y otros cortaban ramas de los árboles, y las extendían en el camino.

And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.

9 Y la gente, la que iba delante y la que iba detrás, gritaba, diciendo: ¡Hosanná al Hijo de David! ¡Bendito el que viene en el nombre del Señor! ¡Hosanná en las alturas!

And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

10 C uando entró él en Jerusalén, toda la ciudad se conmovió, diciendo: ¿Quién es éste?

And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?

11 Y la gente decía: Éste es Jesús, el profeta de Nazaret de Galilea. Purificación del templo

And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.

12 Y entró Jesús en el templo de Dios, y echó fuera a todos los que vendían y compraban en el templo, y volcó las mesas de los cambistas, y las sillas de los que vendían palomas;

And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,

13 y les dijo: Escrito está: Mi casa será llamada casa de oración; mas vosotros la habéis hecho cueva de ladrones.

And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

14 C iegos y cojos se acercaron a él en el templo, y los sanó.

And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.

15 P ero los principales sacerdotes y los escribas, viendo las maravillas que hacía, y a los muchachos que gritaban en el templo, diciendo: ¡Hosanná al Hijo de David!, se indignaron,

And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were sore displeased,

16 y le dijeron: ¿Oyes lo que éstos dicen? Y Jesús les dijo: Sí; ¿nunca leísteis: De la boca de los pequeños y de los niños de pecho, Te preparaste perfecta alabanza?

And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?

17 Y dejándolos, salió fuera de la ciudad, a Betania, y se hospedó allí. Maldición a la higuera estéril

And he left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged there.

18 A l día siguiente, de madrugada, cuando volvía a la ciudad, tuvo hambre.

Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered.

19 Y al ver una higuera cerca del camino, se fue hacia ella, y no halló nada en ella, sino hojas solamente; y le dijo: Nunca jamás nazca de ti fruto. Y al instante se secó la higuera.

And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.

20 A l ver esto los discípulos, decían asombrados: ¿Cómo es que se secó en seguida la higuera?

And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!

21 R espondiendo Jesús, les dijo: De cierto os digo, que si tenéis fe, y no dudáis, no sólo haréis esto de la higuera, sino que si decís a este monte: Quítate de ahí y échate en el mar, será hecho.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

22 Y todo lo que pidáis en oración, creyendo, lo recibiréis. La autoridad de Jesucristo

And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

23 C uando vino al templo, los principales sacerdotes y los ancianos del pueblo se acercaron a él mientras enseñaba, y le dijeron: ¿Con qué autoridad haces estas cosas?, ¿y quién te dio esta autoridad?

And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?

24 R espondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Yo también os haré una pregunta, y si me la contestáis, también yo os diré con qué autoridad hago estas cosas.

And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.

25 E l bautismo de Juan, ¿de dónde era? ¿Del cielo, o de los hombres? Ellos entonces discutían entre sí, diciendo: Si decimos, del cielo, nos dirá: ¿Por qué, pues, no le creísteis?

The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?

26 Y si decimos, de los hombres, tememos a la gente; porque todos tienen a Juan por profeta.

But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.

27 Y respondiendo a Jesús, dijeron: No sabemos. Y él también les dijo: Tampoco yo os digo con qué autoridad hago estas cosas. Parábola de los dos hijos

And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

28 ¿ Qué os parece? Un hombre tenía dos hijos, y acercándose al primero, le dijo: Hijo, ve a trabajar hoy en mi viña.

But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.

29 R espondiendo él, dijo: No quiero; pero después, arrepentido, fue.

He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.

30 Y acercándose al otro, le dijo de la misma manera; y respondiendo él, dijo: Sí, señor, voy. Y no fue.

And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.

31 ¿ Cuál de los dos hizo la voluntad de su padre? Dijeron ellos: El primero. Jesús les dijo: De cierto os digo, que los publicanos y las rameras van delante de vosotros al reino de Dios.

Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

32 P orque vino a vosotros Juan en camino de justicia, y no le creísteis; pero los publicanos y las rameras le creyeron; y vosotros, viendo esto, no os arrepentisteis después para creerle. Los labradores malvados

For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.

33 E scuchad otra parábola: Había un hombre, padre de familia, el cual plantó una viña, la cercó de vallado, cavó en ella un lagar, edificó una torre, y la arrendó a unos labradores, y se ausentó del país.

Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:

34 Y cuando se acercó el tiempo de los frutos, envió sus siervos a los labradores, para que recibiesen sus frutos.

And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.

35 M as los labradores, tomando a los siervos, a uno golpearon, a otro mataron, y a otro apedrearon.

And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.

36 E nvió de nuevo otros siervos, en mayor número que los primeros; e hicieron con ellos de la misma manera.

Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.

37 F inalmente les envió su hijo, diciendo: Tendrán respeto a mi hijo.

But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.

38 M as los labradores, cuando vieron al hijo, dijeron entre sí: Éste es el heredero; venid, matémosle, y apoderémonos de su heredad.

But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.

39 Y tomándole, le echaron fuera de la viña, y le mataron.

And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.

40 C uando venga, pues, el señor de la viña, ¿qué hará a aquellos labradores?

When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?

41 L e dijeron: A esos malvados les dará un fin miserable, y arrendará la viña a otros labradores que le paguen el fruto a su tiempo.

They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.

42 J esús les dijo: ¿Nunca leísteis en las Escrituras: La piedra que los constructores rechazaron, Se ha convertido en piedra angular. El Señor es quien ha hecho esto, Y es cosa maravillosa a nuestros ojos?

Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

43 P or tanto os digo que el reino de Dios os será quitado, y será dado a una nación que produzca los frutos de él.

Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

44 Y el que caiga sobre esta piedra será quebrantado; y sobre quien ella caiga, le desmenuzará.

And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

45 Y oyendo sus parábolas los principales sacerdotes y los fariseos, entendieron que se refería a ellos.

And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.

46 P ero al buscar cómo echarle mano, temían al pueblo, porque éste le tenía por profeta.

But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.
