1 A quel mismo día, salió Jesús de la casa y se sentó junto al mar.

The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.

2 Y acudió a él mucha gente, tanta que subió a sentarse en una barca, y toda la gente estaba de pie en la playa.

And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.

3 Y les habló muchas cosas en parábolas, diciendo: He aquí que salió el sembrador a sembrar.

And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;

4 Y mientras sembraba, parte de la semilla cayó junto al camino; y vinieron las aves y se la comieron.

And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:

5 O tra parte cayó en pedregales, donde no había mucha tierra; y brotó pronto, porque no tenía profundidad de tierra;

Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:

6 p ero cuando salió el sol, se quemó; y porque no tenía raíz, se secó.

And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

7 Y otra parte cayó entre espinos; y los espinos crecieron, y la ahogaron.

And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:

8 P ero una parte cayó en tierra buena y dio fruto, una ciento, otra sesenta, otra treinta.

But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

9 E l que tiene oídos para oír, oiga. Propósito de las parábolas

Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

10 E ntonces, acercándose los discípulos, le dijeron: ¿Por qué les hablas en parábolas?

And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

11 É l respondió y les dijo: Porque a vosotros os ha sido dado conocer los misterios del reino de los cielos; mas a ellos no les ha sido dado.

He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

12 P orque a cualquiera que tiene, se le dará y tendrá en abundancia; pero al que no tiene, aun lo que tiene le será quitado.

For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

13 P or eso les hablo por parábolas: porque viendo no ven, y oyendo no oyen, ni entienden.

Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

14 Y se cumple en ellos la profecía de Isaías, que dijo: Ciertamente oiréis, y no entenderéis; Miraréis, y no veréis en absoluto.

And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

15 P orque el corazón de este pueblo se ha engrosado, Y con los oídos han oído pesadamente, Y han cerrado sus ojos, Para no ver nada con sus ojos, Y no oír con sus oídos, Y no entender con el corazón, Y convertirse, Y que yo los sane.

For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

16 P ero bienaventurados vuestros ojos, porque ven; y vuestros oídos, porque oyen.

But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

17 P orque de cierto os digo, que muchos profetas y justos desearon ver lo que veis, y no lo vieron; y oír lo que oís, y no lo oyeron. Jesús explica la parábola del sembrador

For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

18 V osotros, pues, escuchad la parábola del sembrador:

Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.

19 C uando alguno oye el mensaje del reino y no lo entiende, viene el Maligno, y arrebata lo que fue sembrado en su corazón. Éste es el que fue sembrado junto al camino.

When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

20 Y el que fue sembrado en pedregales, éste es el que oye la palabra, y al momento la recibe con gozo;

But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;

21 p ero no tiene raíz en sí mismo, sino que es de corta duración, pues al venir la aflicción o la persecución por causa de la palabra, luego tropieza.

Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

22 E l que fue sembrado entre espinos, éste es el que oye la palabra, pero el afán de este siglo y el engaño de las riquezas ahogan la palabra, y se hace infructuosa.

He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

23 M as el que fue sembrado en buena tierra, éste es el que oye y entiende la palabra, y da fruto; y produce a ciento, a sesenta, y a treinta por uno. Parábola del trigo y la cizaña

But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

24 L es refirió otra parábola, diciendo: El reino de los cielos es semejante a un hombre que sembró buena semilla en su campo;

Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:

25 p ero mientras dormían los hombres, vino su enemigo y sembró cizaña entre el trigo, y se fue.

But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

26 Y cuando brotó la hierba y dio fruto, entonces apareció también la cizaña.

But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

27 V inieron los criados del amo y le dijeron: Señor, ¿no sembraste buena semilla en tu campo? ¿De dónde, pues, tiene cizaña?

So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?

28 É l les dijo: Un enemigo ha hecho esto. Y los siervos le dijeron: ¿Quieres, pues, que vayamos y la arranquemos?

He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

29 É l les dijo: No, no sea que al arrancar la cizaña, arranquéis también con ella el trigo.

But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

30 D ejad crecer juntas las dos cosas hasta la siega; y al tiempo de la siega, les diré a los segadores: Recoged primero la cizaña, y atadla en manojos para quemarla; pero el trigo recogedlo en mi granero. Parábola de la semilla de mostaza

Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

31 L es propuso otra parábola, diciendo: El reino de los cielos es semejante a un grano de mostaza, que un hombre tomó y lo sembró en su campo;

Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:

32 e l cual a la verdad es menor que todas las semillas; pero cuando ha crecido, es mayor que las hortalizas, y se hace árbol, de tal manera que vienen las aves del cielo y hacen nidos en sus ramas. Parábola de la levadura

Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.

33 L es dijo otra parábola: El reino de los cielos es semejante a la levadura que una mujer tomó y la escondió en tres medidas de harina, hasta que todo quedó fermentado. El uso que Jesucristo hace de las parábolas

Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

34 T odo esto habló Jesús en parábolas a la gente, y sin parábolas no les hablaba nada,

All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:

35 d e modo que se cumpliese lo dicho por medio del profeta, cuando dijo: Abriré en parábolas mi boca; Declararé cosas escondidas desde la fundación del mundo. Jesucristo explica la parábola de la cizaña

That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

36 E ntonces, Jesús dejó marchar a la gente y se fue a casa; y acercándose a él sus discípulos, le dijeron: Explícanos la parábola de la cizaña del campo.

Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

37 É l respondió y les dijo: El que siembra la buena semilla es el Hijo del Hombre.

He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;

38 E l campo es el mundo; la buena semilla son los hijos del reino, y la cizaña son los hijos del Maligno.

The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

39 E l enemigo que la sembró es el diablo; la siega es el fin del mundo; y los segadores son los ángeles.

The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

40 A sí, pues, como se recoge la cizaña, y se quema en el fuego, así será en el fin del mundo.

As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

41 E nviará el Hijo del Hombre a sus ángeles, y recogerán de su reino todo lo que sirve de tropiezo, y a los que hacen iniquidad,

The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

42 y los echarán en el horno de fuego; allí será el llanto y el crujir de dientes.

And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

43 E ntonces los justos resplandecerán como el sol en el reino de su Padre. El que tiene oídos para oír, oiga. El tesoro escondido

Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

44 A demás, el reino de los cielos es semejante a un tesoro escondido en un campo, que, encontrándolo un hombre, lo esconde; y gozoso por ello, va, vende todo lo que tiene, y compra aquel campo. La perla de gran precio

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

45 T ambién es semejante el reino de los cielos a un mercader que busca perlas finas,

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:

46 y habiendo hallado una perla de gran valor, fue y vendió todo lo que tenía, y la compró. La red

Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

47 A simismo el reino de los cielos es semejante a una red que se echa al mar y recoge peces de toda clase;

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:

48 y una vez llena, la sacan a la orilla, se sientan, recogen los buenos en cestas y tiran los malos.

Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.

49 A sí será en el fin del mundo: saldrán los ángeles, y separarán a los malos de entre los justos,

So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,

50 y los echarán en el horno de fuego; allí será el llanto y el crujir de dientes.

And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

51 ¿ Habéis entendido estas cosas?, les dijo Jesús. Ellos respondieron: Sí, Señor.

Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord.

52 É l les dijo: Por eso, todo escriba que ha sido hecho discípulo del reino de los cielos es semejante a un amo de casa, que saca de su tesoro cosas nuevas y cosas viejas. Jesucristo en Nazaret

Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.

53 A conteció que cuando terminó Jesús estas parábolas, se fue de allí.

And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence.

54 Y llegando a su pueblo, les enseñaba en la sinagoga de ellos, de tal manera que se quedaban asombrados, y decían: ¿De dónde tiene esa sabiduría y esos prodigios?

And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?

55 ¿ No es éste el hijo del carpintero? ¿No se llama su madre María, y sus hermanos Jacobo, José, Simón y Judas?

Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?

56 Y sus hermanas ¿no viven todas entre nosotros? ¿De dónde, pues, le viene todo esto?

And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?

57 Y se escandalizaban de él. Pero Jesús les dijo: No hay profeta sin honra, sino en su propia tierra y en su casa.

And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.

58 Y no hizo allí muchos milagros, a causa de la incredulidad de ellos.

And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
