1 H e aquí que reinará un rey con rectitud, y los magistrados gobernarán con justicia.

Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.

2 Y será aquel varón como un escondedero contra el viento, y como un refugio contra el turbión; como arroyos de aguas en tierra de sequedad, como sombra de gran peñasco en tierra calurosa.

And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.

3 N o se cerrarán entonces los ojos de los que ven, y los oídos de los que escuchan estarán atentos.

And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken.

4 Y el corazón de los atolondrados comprenderá para saber, y la lengua de los tartamudos estará lista para hablar claramente.

The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.

5 E l ruin nunca más será llamado generoso, ni el tramposo será llamado espléndido.

The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful.

6 P orque el ruin hablará ruindades, y su corazón fabricará iniquidad, para cometer impiedad y para proferir impiedades contra Jehová, dejando vacía el alma del hambriento, y quitando la bebida al sediento.

For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the Lord, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.

7 L as armas del tramposo son malvadas; trama intrigas inicuas para enredar a los sencillos con palabras mentirosas, y al necesitado cuando defiende una causa justa.

The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.

8 P ero el generoso pensará generosidades, y en sus generosidades continúa firme. Advertencia a las mujeres de Jerusalén

But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.

9 M ujeres indolentes, levantaos, oíd mi voz; hijas confiadas, escuchad mi palabra.

Rise up, ye women that are at ease; hear my voice, ye careless daughters; give ear unto my speech.

10 D e aquí a algo más de un año tendréis espanto, oh confiadas; porque la vendimia faltará, y la cosecha no vendrá.

Many days and years shall ye be troubled, ye careless women: for the vintage shall fail, the gathering shall not come.

11 T emblad, oh indolentes; turbaos, oh confiadas; despojaos, desnudaos, ceñid los lomos con cilicio.

Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones: strip you, and make you bare, and gird sackcloth upon your loins.

12 G olpeaos el pecho en señal de duelo por los campos deleitosos, por la vid fértil,

They shall lament for the teats, for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine.

13 p or la tierra de mi pueblo en la que crecerán espinos y zarzas, y aun por todas las casas en que hay alegría en la ciudad del jolgorio. Despertamiento final y salvación

Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city:

14 P orque los palacios quedarán desiertos, quedará desierta la ciudad; las torres y fortalezas se volverán cuevas para siempre, donde descansen los asnos monteses, y los ganados tengan donde pacer;

Because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;

15 h asta que sobre nosotros sea derramado el Espíritu de lo alto, y el desierto se convierta en campo fértil, y el campo fértil sea estimado por bosque.

Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.

16 Y habitará la justicia en el desierto, y en el campo fértil morará la rectitud.

Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.

17 Y el resultado de la justicia será la paz; y el producto de la rectitud, tranquilidad y seguridad para siempre.

And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

18 Y mi pueblo habitará en morada de paz, en habitaciones seguras, y en lugares de reposo.

And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;

19 Y aunque caiga granizo sobre las cañadas del bosque y la ciudad quede del todo destruida,

When it shall hail, coming down on the forest; and the city shall be low in a low place.

20 ¡ cuán dichosos seréis vosotros, sembrando junto a todas las aguas, y dejando libres al buey y al asno!

Blessed are ye that sow beside all waters, that send forth thither the feet of the ox and the ass.
