1 S et the trumpet to thy mouth. as an eagle against the house of Jehovah, because they have transgressed my covenant, and rebelled against my law.

Pune trîmbiţa în gură! Vrăjmaşul vine ca un vultur peste Casa Domnului! Căci au călcat legămîntul Meu, şi au păcătuit împotriva Legii Mele.

2 T hey shall cry unto me, My God, we know thee;, Israel.

Atunci vor striga către Mine:,, Dumnezeule, noi Te cunoaştem, noi, Israel!`` -

3 I srael hath cast off good: the enemy shall pursue him.

Israel a lepădat binele cu scîrbă; de aceea vrăjmaşul îi va urmări.

4 T hey have set up kings, but not by me; they have made princes, and I knew it not; of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.

Au pus împăraţi fără porunca Mea, şi căpetenii fără ştirea Mea; au făcut idoli din argintul şi aurul lor: deaceea vor fi nimiciţi.

5 T hy calf, O Samaria, hath cast off; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will they be incapable of purity?

Viţelul tău este o scîrbă, Samario! Mînia Mea s'a aprins împotriva lor! Pînă cînd nu vor voi ei să se ţină curaţi?

6 F or from Israel is this also:—a workman made it, and it is no God: for the calf of Samaria shall be pieces.

Idolul acesta vine din Israel, un lucrător l -a făcut, şi nu este Dumnezeu. Deaceea, viţelul Samariei va fi făcut bucăţi!

7 F or they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk; should it sprout, it would yield no meal; if so be it yield, strangers shall swallow it up.

Fiindcă au sămănat vînt, vor secera furtună. Nu le va creşte un spic de grîu; ce va răsări, nu va da făină, şi dacă ar da, ar mînca -o străinii.

8 I srael is swallowed up: now are they become among the nations as a vessel wherein is no pleasure.

Israel este nimicit! Acum ei au ajuns printre neamuri ca un vas fără preţ.

9 F or they are gone up Assyria a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers.

Căci s'au dus în Asiria, ca un măgar sălbatic care umblă răsleţ. Efraim a dat daruri ca să aibă prieteni!

10 A lthough they hire among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall begin to be straitened under the burden of the king of princes.

Chiar dacă ei dau daruri neamurilor, tot îi voi apăsa, ca să înceteze pentru puţină vreme să mai ungă vreun împărat şi domni.

11 B ecause Ephraim hath multiplied altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin.

Căci Efraim a zidit multe altare ca să păcătuiască, şi altarele acestea l-au făcut să cadă în păcat.

12 I have prescribed unto him the manifold things of my law: they are counted a strange thing.

Chiar dacă -i scriu toate poruncile Legii Mele, totuş ele sînt privite ca ceva străin.

13 T hey sacrifice flesh the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat it; Jehovah hath no delight in them. Now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.

Ei junghie vitele pe cari Mi le aduc, şi carnea le -o mînîncă; deaceea Domnul nu le primeşte! Acum Domnul Îşi aduce aminte de nelegiuirea lor, şi le va pedepsi păcatele: se vor întoarce în Egipt!

14 F or Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.

Căci Israel a uitat pe Cel ce l -a făcut, şi -a zidit palate, şi Iuda a înmulţit cetăţile întărite; deaceea voi trimete foc în cetăţile lor, şi le va mistui palatele.
