1 A nd the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken.

Entonces el Señor prestó atención a Sara como había dicho, e hizo el Señor por Sara como había prometido.

2 F or Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

Sara concibió y dio a luz un hijo a Abraham en su vejez, en el tiempo señalado que Dios le había dicho.

3 A nd Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.

Abraham le puso el nombre de Isaac al hijo que le nació, que le dio Sara.

4 A nd Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him.

A los ocho días Abraham circuncidó a su hijo Isaac, como Dios le había mandado.

5 A nd Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.

Abraham tenía cien años cuando le nació su hijo Isaac.

6 A nd Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.

Sara dijo: “Dios me ha hecho reír; cualquiera que lo oiga se reirá conmigo.”

7 A nd she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age.

Y añadió: “¿Quién le hubiera dicho a Abraham que Sara amamantaría hijos? Pues bien, le he dado un hijo en su vejez.” Agar e Ismael Expulsados

8 A nd the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned.

El niño creció y fue destetado, y Abraham hizo un gran banquete el día que Isaac fue destetado.

9 A nd Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.

Pero Sara vio al hijo que Agar la Egipcia le había dado a Abraham burlándose de su hijo Isaac.

10 W herefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.

Por eso le dijo a Abraham: “Echa fuera a esta sierva y a su hijo, porque el hijo de esta sierva no ha de ser heredero junto con mi hijo Isaac.”

11 A nd the thing was very grievous in Abraham’s sight because of his son.

El asunto angustió a Abraham en gran manera por tratarse de su hijo.

12 A nd God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.

Pero Dios dijo a Abraham: “No te angusties por el muchacho ni por tu sierva. Presta atención a todo lo que Sara te diga, porque por Isaac será llamada tu descendencia.

13 A nd also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.

También del hijo de la sierva haré una nación, por ser tu descendiente.”

14 A nd Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beer-sheba.

Se levantó, pues, Abraham muy de mañana, tomó pan y un odre de agua y los dio a Agar poniéndo selos sobre el hombro, y le dio el muchacho y la despidió. Y ella se fue y anduvo errante por el desierto de Beerseba.

15 A nd the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.

Cuando el agua del odre se acabó, ella dejó al muchacho debajo de uno de los arbustos.

16 A nd she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bowshot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lift up her voice, and wept.

Entonces ella fue y se sentó enfrente, como a un tiro de arco de distancia, porque dijo: “Que no vea yo morir al niño.” Y se sentó enfrente y alzó su voz y lloró.

17 A nd God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.

Dios oyó la voz del muchacho que lloraba; y el ángel de Dios llamó a Agar desde el cielo, y le dijo: “¿Qué tienes, Agar? No temas, porque Dios ha oído la voz del muchacho en donde está.

18 A rise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation.

Levántate, alza al muchacho y sostenlo con tu mano, porque Yo haré de él una gran nación.”

19 A nd God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.

Entonces Dios abrió los ojos de ella, y vio un pozo de agua. Fue y llenó el odre de agua y dio de beber al muchacho.

20 A nd God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer.

Dios estaba con el muchacho, que creció y habitó en el desierto y se hizo arquero.

21 A nd he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.

Y habitó en el desierto de Parán, y su madre tomó para él una mujer de la tierra de Egipto. Pacto entre Abraham y Abimelec

22 A nd it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phichol the chief captain of his host spake unto Abraham, saying, God is with thee in all that thou doest:

Aconteció por aquel tiempo que Abimelec, con Ficol, jefe de su ejército, habló a Abraham: “Dios está contigo en todo lo que haces.

23 n ow therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son’s son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned.

Ahora pues, júrame aquí por Dios que no obrarás falsamente conmigo, ni con mi descendencia, ni con mi posteridad, sino que conforme a la bondad que te he mostrado, así me mostrarás a mí y a la tierra en la cual has residido.”

24 A nd Abraham said, I will swear.

“Yo lo juro,” le dijo Abraham.

25 A nd Abraham reproved Abimelech because of a well of water, which Abimelech’s servants had violently taken away.

Pero Abraham se quejó a Abimelec a causa de un pozo de agua del cual los siervos de Abimelec se habían apoderado.

26 A nd Abimelech said, I wot not who hath done this thing: neither didst thou tell me, neither yet heard I of it, but to day.

Y Abimelec dijo: “No sé quién haya hecho esto, ni tú me lo habías hecho saber, ni yo lo había oído hasta hoy.”

27 A nd Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them unto Abimelech; and both of them made a covenant.

Abraham tomó ovejas y vacas y se los dio a Abimelec, y los dos hicieron un pacto.

28 A nd Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.

Entonces Abraham puso aparte siete corderas del rebaño.

29 A nd Abimelech said unto Abraham, What mean these seven ewe lambs which thou hast set by themselves?

Abimelec dijo a Abraham: “¿Qué significan estas siete corderas que has puesto aparte?”

30 A nd he said, For these seven ewe lambs shalt thou take of my hand, that they may be a witness unto me, that I have digged this well.

Y Abraham respondió: “Tomarás estas siete corderas de mi mano para que esto me sirva de testimonio de que yo cavé este pozo.”

31 W herefore he called that place Beer-sheba; because there they sware both of them.

Por lo cual llamó aquel lugar Beerseba (Pozo del Juramento), porque allí juraron los dos.

32 T hus they made a covenant at Beer-sheba: then Abimelech rose up, and Phichol the chief captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.

Hicieron, pues, un pacto en Beerseba. Se levantó Abimelec con Ficol, jefe de su ejército, y regresaron a la tierra de los Filisteos.

33 A nd Abraham planted a grove in Beer-sheba, and called there on the name of the Lord, the everlasting God.

Abraham plantó un tamarisco en Beerseba, y allí invocó el nombre del Señor, el Dios eterno.

34 A nd Abraham sojourned in the Philistines’ land many days.

Y peregrinó Abraham en la tierra de los Filisteos por muchos días.
