1 A nd you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

Y El les dio vida a ustedes, que estaban muertos en (a causa de) sus delitos y pecados,

2 w herein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

en los cuales anduvieron en otro tiempo según la corriente (la época) de este mundo, conforme al príncipe de la potestad del aire, el espíritu que ahora opera en los hijos de desobediencia.

3 a mong whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Entre ellos también todos nosotros en otro tiempo vivíamos en las pasiones de nuestra carne, satisfaciendo los deseos de la carne y de la mente (de los pensamientos), y éramos por naturaleza hijos de ira, lo mismo que los demás.

4 B ut God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

Pero Dios, que es rico en misericordia, por causa del gran amor con que nos amó,

5 e ven when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

aun cuando estábamos muertos en (a causa de) nuestros delitos, nos dio vida juntamente con Cristo (por gracia ustedes han sido salvados),

6 a nd hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

y con El nos resucitó y con El nos sentó en los lugares celestiales en Cristo Jesús,

7 t hat in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

a fin de poder mostrar en los siglos venideros las sobreabundantes riquezas de Su gracia por Su bondad para con nosotros en Cristo Jesús.

8 F or by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Porque por gracia ustedes han sido salvados por medio de la fe, y esto no procede de ustedes, sino que es don de Dios;

9 n ot of works, lest any man should boast.

no por obras, para que nadie se gloríe.

10 F or we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Porque somos hechura Suya, creados en Cristo Jesús para hacer buenas obras, las cuales Dios preparó de antemano para que anduviéramos en ellas. En Cristo hay Paz y Unidad

11 W herefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

Por tanto, recuerden que en otro tiempo, ustedes los Gentiles en la carne, que son llamados “Incircuncisión” por la tal llamada “Circuncisión,” hecha en la carne por manos humanas,

12 t hat at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

recuerden que en ese tiempo ustedes estaban separados de Cristo, excluidos de la ciudadanía (comunidad) de Israel, extraños a los pactos de la promesa, sin tener esperanza y sin Dios en el mundo.

13 b ut now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

Pero ahora en Cristo Jesús, ustedes, que en otro tiempo estaban lejos, han sido acercados por la sangre de Cristo.

14 F or he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

Porque El mismo es nuestra paz, y de ambos pueblos hizo uno, derribando la pared intermedia de separación,

15 h aving abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

poniendo fin a la enemistad en Su carne, la Ley de los mandamientos expresados en ordenanzas, para crear en El mismo de los dos un nuevo hombre, estableciendo así la paz,

16 a nd that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

y para reconciliar con Dios a los dos en un cuerpo por medio de la cruz, habiendo dado muerte en ella a la enemistad.

17 a nd came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

Y vino y anuncio paz a ustedes que estaban lejos, y paz a los que estaban cerca.

18 f or through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

Porque por medio de Cristo los unos y los otros tenemos nuestra entrada al Padre en un mismo Espíritu.

19 N ow therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

Así pues, ustedes ya no son extraños ni extranjeros, sino que son conciudadanos de los santos y son de la familia de Dios.

20 a nd are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

Están edificados sobre el fundamento de los apóstoles y profetas, siendo Cristo Jesús mismo la piedra angular,

21 i n whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

en quien todo el edificio, bien ajustado, va creciendo para ser un templo santo en el Señor.

22 i n whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

En Cristo también ustedes son juntamente edificados para morada de Dios en el Espíritu.
