1 T hus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

Así dice el Señor: “El cielo es Mi trono y la tierra el estrado de Mis pies. ¿Dónde, pues, está la casa que podrían edificarme? ¿Dónde está el lugar de Mi reposo ?

2 F or all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

Todo esto lo hizo Mi mano, Y así todas estas cosas llegaron a ser,” declara el Señor. “Pero a éste miraré: Al que es humilde y contrito de espíritu, y que tiembla ante Mi palabra.

3 H e that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.

El que mata un buey es como el que mata a un hombre, El que sacrifica un cordero como el que desnuca un perro, El que presenta ofrenda de cereal como el que ofrece sangre de cerdo, El que quema incienso como el que bendice a un ídolo. Como ellos han escogido sus propios caminos, Y su alma se deleita en sus abominaciones,

4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.

También Yo escogeré sus castigos, Y traeré sobre ellos lo que temen. Porque llamé, pero nadie respondió, Hablé, pero no escucharon. Más bien hicieron lo malo ante Mis ojos, Y escogieron lo que no Me complacía.”

5 H ear the word of the Lord, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let the Lord be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.

Oigan la palabra del Señor, ustedes que tiemblan ante Su palabra: “Sus hermanos que los aborrecen, que los excluyen por causa de Mi nombre, Han dicho: ‘Sea el Señor glorificado, para que veamos la alegría de ustedes.’ Pero ellos serán avergonzados.

6 A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the Lord that rendereth recompence to his enemies.

Voz de estruendo viene de la ciudad, una voz sale del templo: La voz del Señor que da el pago a Sus enemigos.

7 B efore she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.

Antes que estuviera de parto, ella dio a luz; Antes que le vinieran los dolores, dio a luz un niño.

8 W ho hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

¿Quién ha oído cosa semejante? ¿Quién ha visto tales cosas ? ¿Es dado a luz un país en un solo día? ¿Nace una nación toda de una vez? Pues Sion apenas estuvo de parto, dio a luz a sus hijos.

9 S hall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the Lord: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.

Yo que hago que se abra la matriz, ¿no haré nacer ?” dice el Señor. “Yo que hago nacer, ¿cerraré la matriz ?,” dice tu Dios.

10 R ejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her:

Alégrense con Jerusalén y regocíjense por ella, todos los que la aman; Rebosen de júbilo con ella, todos los que por ella hacen duelo,

11 t hat ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.

Para que mamen y se sacien del pecho de sus consolaciones, Para que chupen y se deleiten de su seno abundante.

12 F or thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.

Porque así dice el Señor: “Yo extiendo hacia ella paz como un río, Y la gloria de las naciones como torrente desbordado. Y ustedes mamarán, serán llevados sobre la cadera y acariciados sobre las rodillas.

13 A s one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

Como a uno a quien consuela su madre, así los consolaré Yo; En Jerusalén serán consolados.”

14 A nd when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the Lord shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies.

Cuando lo vean, se llenará de gozo su corazón, Y sus huesos florecerán como hierba tierna. La mano del Señor se dará a conocer a Sus siervos, Y Su indignación a Sus enemigos.

15 F or, behold, the Lord will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.

Porque el Señor vendrá en fuego Y Sus carros como torbellino, Para descargar Su ira con furor Y Su reprensión con llamas de fuego.

16 F or by fire and by his sword will the Lord plead with all flesh: and the slain of the Lord shall be many.

Porque el Señor juzgará con fuego Y con Su espada a toda carne (todo ser humano), Y serán muchos los muertos por el Señor.

17 T hey that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine’s flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the Lord.

“Los que se santifican y se purifican para ir a los huertos, Tras uno que está en el centro, Que comen carne de cerdo, cosas detestables y ratones, A una perecerán,” declara el Señor.

18 F or I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.

“Pero Yo conozco sus obras y sus pensamientos. Llegará el tiempo de juntar a todas las naciones y lenguas, y vendrán y verán Mi gloria.

19 A nd I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles.

Y pondré señal entre ellos y enviaré a sus sobrevivientes a las naciones: a Tarsis, a Fut, a Lud, a Mesec, a Ros, a Tubal y a Javán (Grecia), a las costas remotas que no han oído de Mi fama ni han visto Mi gloria. Y ellos anunciarán Mi gloria entre las naciones.

20 A nd they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the Lord out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the Lord, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the Lord.

Entonces traerán a todos sus hermanos de todas las naciones como ofrenda al Señor, en caballos, en carros, en literas, en mulos y en camellos, a Mi santo monte, Jerusalén,” dice el Señor, “tal como los Israelitas traen su ofrenda de grano en vasijas limpias a la casa del Señor.

21 A nd I will also take of them for priests and for Levites, saith the Lord.

Y también tomaré algunos de ellos para sacerdotes y para Levitas” dice el Señor.

22 F or as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain.

“Porque como los cielos nuevos y la tierra nueva Que Yo hago permanecerán delante de Mí,” declara el Señor, “así permanecerán su descendencia y su nombre.

23 A nd it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.

Y sucederá que de luna nueva en luna nueva Y de día de reposo en día de reposo, Todo mortal vendrá a postrarse delante de Mí,” dice el Señor.

24 A nd they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

“Y cuando salgan, verán Los cadáveres de los hombres Que se rebelaron contra Mí; Porque su gusano no morirá, Ni su fuego se apagará, Y serán el horror de toda la humanidad.”
