1 O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

2 L et the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

3 a nd gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.

Y los ha reunido de las tierras, Del oriente y del occidente, Del norte y del sur.

4 T hey wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.

Vagaron por el desierto, por lugar desolado, No hallaron camino a ciudad habitada;

5 H ungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

Hambrientos y sedientos, Su alma desfallecía en ellos.

6 T hen they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.

Entonces en su angustia clamaron al Señor, Y El los libró de sus aflicciones;

7 A nd he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

Y los guió por camino recto, Para que fueran a una ciudad habitada.

8 O h that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Den gracias al Señor por Su misericordia Y por Sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres.

9 F or he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

Porque El ha saciado al alma sedienta, Y ha llenado de bienes al alma hambrienta.

10 S uch as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;

Moradores de tinieblas y de sombra de muerte, Prisioneros en miseria y en cadenas,

11 b ecause they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:

Porque fueron rebeldes a las palabras de Dios Y despreciaron el consejo del Altísimo;

12 t herefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.

Humilló sus corazones con trabajos, Tropezaron y no hubo quien los socorriera.

13 T hen they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.

Entonces en su angustia clamaron al Señor Y El los salvó de sus aflicciones;

14 H e brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.

Los sacó de las tinieblas y de la sombra de muerte Y rompió sus cadenas.

15 O h that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Den gracias al Señor por Su misericordia Y por Sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres.

16 F or he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.

Porque El rompió las puertas de bronce E hizo pedazos las barras de hierro.

17 F ools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

Por causa de sus caminos rebeldes, Y por causa de sus iniquidades, los insensatos fueron afligidos.

18 T heir soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.

Su alma aborreció todo alimento, Y se acercaron hasta las puertas de la muerte.

19 T hen they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses.

Entonces en su angustia clamaron al Señor Y El los salvó de sus aflicciones.

20 H e sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

El envió Su palabra y los sanó Y los libró de la muerte.

21 O h that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Que ellos den gracias al Señor por Su misericordia Y por Sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres.

22 A nd let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.

Ofrezcan también sacrificios de acción de gracias Y hablen de Sus obras con cantos de júbilo.

23 T hey that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;

Los que descienden al mar en naves Y hacen negocio sobre las grandes aguas,

24 t hese see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep.

Han visto las obras del Señor Y Sus maravillas en lo profundo.

25 F or he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.

Pues El habló, y levantó un viento tempestuoso Que encrespó las olas del mar.

26 T hey mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.

Subieron a los cielos, descendieron a las profundidades, Sus almas se consumían por el mal.

27 T hey reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits’ end.

Temblaban y se tambaleaban como ebrios, Y toda su pericia desapareció.

28 T hen they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.

En su angustia clamaron al Señor Y El los sacó de sus aflicciones.

29 H e maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

Cambió la tempestad en suave brisa Y las olas del mar se calmaron.

30 T hen are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

Entonces se alegraron, porque las olas se habían aquietado, Y El los guió al puerto anhelado.

31 O h that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Que den gracias al Señor por Su misericordia Y por Sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres.

32 L et them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.

Exáltenlo también en la congregación del pueblo, Y alábenlo en la reunión de los ancianos.

33 H e turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground;

El convierte los ríos en desierto Y los manantiales en secadales;

34 a fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

La tierra fértil en salinas, Por la maldad de los que moran en ella.

35 H e turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.

Transforma el desierto en estanque de aguas, Y la tierra seca en manantiales;

36 A nd there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;

En ella hace morar a los hambrientos, Para que establezcan una ciudad donde vivir,

37 a nd sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.

Y siembren campos, planten viñas, Y recojan una cosecha abundante.

38 H e blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

Los bendice también y se multiplican mucho, Y no disminuye su ganado.

39 A gain, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.

Cuando son disminuidos y abatidos Por la opresión, la calamidad y la aflicción,

40 H e poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.

Vierte desprecio sobre los príncipes, Y los hace vagar por un lugar desolado sin camino.

41 Y et setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.

Pero al pobre lo levanta de la miseria y lo pone seguro en alto, Y multiplica sus familias como un rebaño.

42 T he righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

Los rectos lo ven y se alegran, Pero a toda iniquidad se le cierra la boca.

43 W hoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

¿Quién es sabio ? Que preste atención a estas cosas, Y considere las bondades del Señor.
