1 C ome now, ye rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you.

Дойдете сега, вие богатите, плачете и ридайте поради бедствията, които идват върху вас.

2 Y our riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten.

Богатството ви изгни, и дрехите ви са изядени от молци.

3 Y our gold and your silver are rusted; and their rust shall be for a testimony against you, and shall eat your flesh as fire. Ye have laid up your treasure in the last days.

Златото ви и среброто ви ръждясаха; и ръждата им ще свидетелствува против вас и ще пояде месата ви като огън. Вие сте събирали съкровища в последните дни.

4 B ehold, the hire of the laborers who mowed your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth out: and the cries of them that reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.

Ето, заплатата за работниците, които са жънали нивите ви, от която ги лишихте, вика; и виковете на жетварите влязоха в ушите на Господа на Силите.

5 Y e have lived delicately on the earth, and taken your pleasure; ye have nourished your hearts in a day of slaughter.

Вие живяхте на земята разкошно и разпуснато, угоихте сърцата си <като> в ден на клане.

6 Y e have condemned, ye have killed the righteous one; he doth not resist you.

Осъдихте, убихте Праведния; и Той не ви се противи.

7 B e patient therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receive the early and latter rain.

И тъй, братя, останете твърди, до Господното пришествие. Ето земеделецът очаква скъпоценния плод от земята и търпи за него докле получи и ранния и късния дъжд.

8 B e ye also patient; establish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

Останете и вие твърди, и укрепете сърцата си; защото Господното пришествие наближи.

9 M urmur not, brethren, one against another, that ye be not judged: behold, the judge standeth before the doors.

Не роптайте един против друг, братя, за да не бъдете осъдени; ето, Съдията стои пред вратите.

10 T ake, brethren, for an example of suffering and of patience, the prophets who spake in the name of the Lord.

Братя, вземете за пример на злострадание и на твърдост пророците, които говориха за Господното име.

11 B ehold, we call them blessed that endured: ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord, how that the Lord is full of pity, and merciful.

Ето, облажаваме ония, които са останали твърди. Чули сте за търпението на Иова {В изданието от 1940 г. - Иоана, печатна грешка.}, и видели сте сетнината <въздадена нему> от Господа, че Господ е много жалостив и милостив.

12 B ut above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by the heaven, nor by the earth, nor by any other oath: but let your yea be yea, and your nay, nay; that ye fall not under judgment.

А преди всичко, братя мои, не се кълнете нито в небето, нито в земята, нито в друга някоя клетва; но нека бъде вашето <говорене:> Да, да, и: Не, не, за да не паднете под осъждане.

13 I s any among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praise.

Зле ли страда някой от вас? нека се моли. Весел ли е някой? нека пее хваления.

14 I s any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

Болен ли е някой от вас? нека повика църковните презвитери, и нека се помолят над него и го помажат с масло в Господното име.

15 a nd the prayer of faith shall save him that is sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, it shall be forgiven him.

И молитвата, която е с вяра, ще избави страдалеца, Господ ще го привдигне, и, ако е извършил грехове, ще му се простят.

16 C onfess therefore your sins one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The supplication of a righteous man availeth much in its working.

И тъй, изповядайте един на друг греховете си, и молете се един за друг, за да оздравеете. Голяма сила има усърдната молитва на праведния.

17 E lijah was a man of like passions with us, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain; and it rained not on the earth for three years and six months.

Илия беше човек със същото естество като нас; и помоли се усърдно да не вали дъжд, и не валя дъжд на земята три години и шест месеца;

18 A nd he prayed again; and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

и пак се помоли и небето даде дъжд, и земята произведе плода си.

19 M y brethren, if any among you err from the truth, and one convert him;

Братя мои, ако някой от вас <се> {В изданието от 1940 г. "се" липсва.} заблуди от истината, и един го обърне,

20 l et him know, that he who converteth a sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall cover a multitude of sins.

нека знае, че който е обърнал грешния от заблудения му път ще спаси душа от смърт и ще покрие много грехове.
