1 A nd Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

Тогава Господ говори на Моисея, казвайки:

2 S peak unto the children of Israel, and take of them rods, one for each fathers' house, of all their princes according to their fathers' houses, twelve rods: write thou every man's name upon his rod.

Говори на израилтяните, и вземи от тях дванадесет жезли, по един жезъл за всеки дом, от всичките им първенци, според домовете на бащите им, и напиши името на всекиго на жезъла му.

3 A nd thou shalt write Aaron's name upon the rod of Levi; for there shall be one rod for each head of their fathers' houses.

На Левиевия жезъл напиши името на Аарона; понеже ще има по един жезъл за всеки началник на бащините им домове.

4 A nd thou shalt lay them up in the tent of meeting before the testimony, where I meet with you.

Положи ги в шатъра за срещане пред <плочите на> свидетелството, гдето Аз се срещам с вас.

5 A nd it shall come to pass, that the rod of the man whom I shall choose shall bud: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against you.

И жезълът на човека, когото избера, ще процъфти. Така ще направя да престанат пред Мене роптанията на израилтяните, с които те роптаят против вас.

6 A nd Moses spake unto the children of Israel; and all their princes gave him rods, for each prince one, according to their fathers' houses, even twelve rods: and the rod of Aaron was among their rods.

Моисей, прочее, каза на израилтяните; и всичките им първенци му дадоха дванадесет жезъла, всеки първенец по един жезъл, според бащините си домове; и Аароновият жезъл беше между жезлите им.

7 A nd Moses laid up the rods before Jehovah in the tent of the testimony.

И Моисей положи жезлите пред Господа в шатъра <за плочите> на свидетелството.

8 A nd it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses went into the tent of the testimony; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and put forth buds, and produced blossoms, and bare ripe almonds.

И на следния ден Моисей влезе в шатъра <за плочите> на свидетелството; и ето, Аароновият жезъл за Левиевия дом беше покарал и произрастил пъпки, цъфнал, и завързал зрели бадеми.

9 A nd Moses brought out all the rods from before Jehovah unto all the children of Israel: and they looked, and took every man his rod.

И Моисей изнесе всичките жезли от пред Господа при всичките израилтяни; и те, като ги прегледаха, взеха всеки жезъла си.

10 A nd Jehovah said unto Moses, Put back the rod of Aaron before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the children of rebellion; that thou mayest make an end of their murmurings against me, that they die not.

Тогава Господ каза на Моисея: Върни Аароновия жезъл пред <плочите на> свидетелството, за да се пази за знак против бунтовническия род; и така да направиш да престанат роптанията им против Мене, та да не измрат.

11 T hus did Moses: as Jehovah commanded him, so did he.

И Моисей направи така; според както Господ му заповяда така направи.

12 A nd the children of Israel spake unto Moses, saying, Behold, we perish, we are undone, we are all undone.

Тогава израилтяните говориха на Моисея, казвайки: Ето, ние загиваме, погубени сме, всички сме погубени;

13 E very one that cometh near, that cometh near unto the tabernacle of Jehovah, dieth: shall we perish all of us?

всеки, който се приближава, който се приближи до Господната скиния, умира; ще измрем ли ние всички?
