1 N ow it came to pass after the death of Moses the servant of Jehovah, that Jehovah spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,

2 M oses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.

Слугата ми Моисей умря; сега, прочее, стани та мини през тоя Иордан, ти и всички тия люде, в земята, която Аз давам на тях, на израилтяните.

3 E very place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, to you have I given it, as I spake unto Moses.

Всяко място, на което стъпи стъпалото на нозете ви, давам ви го, според както казах на Моисея.

4 F rom the wilderness, and this Lebanon, even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your border.

От пустинята и тоя Ливан до голямата река, реката Ефрат, цялата земя на хетейците, и до голямото море към захождането на слънцето, ще бъдат пределите ви.

5 T here shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life. as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee; I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Никой не ще може да устои против тебе през всичките дни на живота ти; като бях с Моисея, така ще бъда и с тебе; няма да отстъпя от тебе, нито ще те оставя.

6 B e strong and of good courage; for thou shalt cause this people to inherit the land which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

Бъди силен и смел; защото ти ще разделиш в наследство на тия люде земята, за която съм се клел на бащите им, че ще им я дам.

7 O nly be strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest have good success whithersoever thou goest.

Само бъди силен и твърде дързостен, та да постъпваш внимателно според целия закон, за който слугата Ми Моисей ти даде заповед; не се отклонявай от него ни надясно ни наляво, за да имаш добър успех {Или, постъпваш благоразумно.} където и да идеш.

8 T his book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate thereon day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Тая книга на закона да се не отдалечава от устата ти; но да размишляваш върху нея денем и нощем, за да постъпваш внимателно, според всичко каквото е написано в нея, защото тогава ще напредваш в пътя си, и тогава ще имаш добър успех {Или, постъпваш благоразумно.}.

9 H ave not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not affrighted, neither be thou dismayed: for Jehovah thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Ето, заповядвам ти: бъди силен и смел; да не се плашиш и да не се страхуваш; защото Господ твоят Бог е с тебе гдето и да идеш.

10 T hen Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,

Тогава Исус заповяда на началниците на людете, като каза:

11 P ass through the midst of the camp, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye are to pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which Jehovah your God giveth you to possess it.

Преминете през сред стана и заповядайте на людете, казвайки: Пригответе си храна <за път>, защото след три дена ще минете през тоя Иордан, за да влезете да завладеете земята, която Господ вашият Бог ви даде да притежавате.

12 A nd to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh, spake Joshua, saying,

А на рувимците, на гадците и на половината от Манасиевото племе Исус говори, казвайки:

13 R emember the word which Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded you, saying, Jehovah your God giveth you rest, and will give you this land.

Помнете думата, която Господният слуга Моисей ви заповяда, като каза: Господ вашият Бог ви успокои и ви даде тая земя.

14 Y our wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall abide in the land which Moses gave you beyond the Jordan; but ye shall pass over before your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valor, and shall help them;

Жените ви, чадата ви и добитъкът ви нека останат в земята, която Моисей ви даде оттатък {На изток от.} Иордан, а вие, всичките юнаци, да преминете пред братята си въоръжени и да им помагате,

15 u ntil Jehovah have given your brethren rest, as he hath given you, and they also have possessed the land which Jehovah your God giveth them: then ye shall return unto the land of your possession, and possess it, which Moses the servant of Jehovah gave you beyond the Jordan toward the sunrising.

догде Господ успокои и братята ви както вас, та притежават и те земята, която Господ вашият Бог им дава; тогава да се върнете в земята на наследството си, която Господният слуга Моисей ви даде оттатък Иордан към изгряването на слънцето, и да я притежавате.

16 A nd they answered Joshua, saying, All that thou hast commanded us we will do, and whithersoever thou sendest us we will go.

И те в отговор казаха на Исуса: Всичко що ни заповядваш ще извършим, и където и да ни пращаш ще идем.

17 A ccording as we hearkened unto Moses in all things, so will we hearken unto thee: only Jehovah thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses.

Както слушахме във всичко Моисея, така ще слушаме и тебе; само Господ твоят Бог да е с тебе, както беше с Моисея.

18 W hosoever he be that shall rebel against thy commandment, and shall not hearken unto thy words in all that thou commandest him, he shall be put to death: only be strong and of good courage.

Всеки, който би се възпротивил на твоите заповеди и не би послушал думите ти във всичко що му заповядваш, ще се умъртви само ти бъди силен и смел.
