1 L a parte que tocó en suerte a la tribu de los hijos de Judá conforme a sus familias, llegaba hasta la frontera de Edom, hacia el sur, hasta el desierto de Zin al extremo sur.

This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.

2 S u límite al sur se extendía desde el extremo del Mar Salado, desde la bahía que da hacia el sur,

And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looketh southward:

3 y seguía por el sur hacia la subida de Acrabim y continuaba hasta Zin. Entonces subía por el lado sur de Cades Barnea hasta Hezrón, y subía hasta Adar y volvía a Carca.

And it went out to the south side to Maalehacrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadeshbarnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:

4 D espués pasaba por Asmón y seguía hasta el torrente de Egipto. Y el límite terminaba en el Mar Mediterráneo. Este será el límite sur para ustedes.

From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.

5 E l límite oriental era el Mar Salado (Mar Muerto) hasta la desembocadura del Jordán. El límite por el lado norte era desde la bahía del mar en la desembocadura del Jordán.

And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan:

6 E ntonces el límite subía hasta Bet Hogla y seguía al norte de Bet Arabá y subía hasta la piedra de Bohán, hijo de Rubén.

And the border went up to Bethhogla, and passed along by the north of Betharabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:

7 E l límite subía hasta Debir desde el Valle de Acor, y volvía hacia el norte, hacia Gilgal que está frente a la subida de Adumín, al sur del valle, y seguía hasta las aguas de En Semes y terminaba en En Rogel.

And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of Enshemesh, and the goings out thereof were at Enrogel:

8 D espués el límite subía por el Valle de Ben Hinom (Hijo de Hinom) hasta la ladera del Jebuseo al sur, es decir, Jerusalén, y subía hasta la cumbre del monte que está frente al Valle de Hinom hacia el occidente, que está al extremo del Valle de Refaim hacia el norte.

And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:

9 D esde la cumbre del monte el límite doblaba hacia la fuente de las aguas de Neftoa, y seguía hasta las ciudades del Monte Efrón, girando hacia Baala, es decir, Quiriat Jearim.

And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjathjearim:

10 D e Baala el límite giraba hacia el occidente, hasta el Monte Seir, y continuaba hasta la ladera del Monte Jearim al norte, es decir, Quesalón, y bajaba a Bet Semes, y continuaba por Timna.

And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Bethshemesh, and passed on to Timnah:

11 E l límite seguía hacia el norte por el lado de Ecrón, girando hacia Sicrón, y continuaba hasta el Monte Baala, seguía hasta Jabneel y terminaba en el mar.

And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.

12 E l límite occidental era el Mar Grande (el Mediterráneo), es decir, su costa. Este es el límite alrededor de los hijos de Judá conforme a sus familias.

And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.

13 Y Josué dio a Caleb, hijo de Jefone, una porción entre los hijos de Judá, según el mandato del Señor a Josué, es decir, Quiriat Arba (la ciudad de Arba), siendo Arba el padre de Anac, es decir, Hebrón.

And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the Lord to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.

14 C aleb expulsó de allí a los tres hijos de Anac: Sesai, Ahimán y Talmai, hijos de Anac.

And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

15 D e allí subió contra los habitantes de Debir (el nombre de Debir antes era Quiriat Séfer).

And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjathsepher.

16 Y Caleb dijo: “Al que ataque a Quiriat Séfer y la tome, yo le daré a mi hija Acsa por mujer.”

And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjathsepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.

17 O toniel, hijo de Quenaz, hermano de Caleb, la tomó, y él le dio a su hija Acsa por mujer.

And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.

18 Y cuando ella vino a él, éste la persuadió a que pidiera un campo a su padre. Ella entonces se bajó del asno, y Caleb le dijo: “¿Qué quieres? ”

And it came to pass, as she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou?

19 “ Dame una bendición,” respondió ella; “ya que me has dado la tierra del Neguev (región del sur), dame también fuentes de agua.” Y él le dio las fuentes de las regiones altas y las fuentes de las regiones bajas. Las Ciudades de Judá

Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs.

20 E sta es la heredad de la tribu de los hijos de Judá conforme a sus familias.

This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.

21 L as ciudades al extremo de la tribu de los hijos de Judá, hacia la frontera de Edom en el sur, fueron: Cabseel, Edar, Jagur,

And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,

22 C ina, Dimona, Adada,

And Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,

23 C edes, Hazor, Itnán,

And Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,

24 Z if, Telem, Bealot,

Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,

25 H azor Hadata, Queriot Hezrón, es decir, Hazor,

And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, and Hezron, which is Hazor,

26 A mam, Sema, Molada,

Amam, and Shema, and Moladah,

27 H azar Gada, Hesmón, Bet Pelet,

And Hazargaddah, and Heshmon, and Bethpalet,

28 H azar Sual, Beerseba, Bizotia,

And Hazarshual, and Beersheba, and Bizjothjah,

29 B aala, Iim, Esem,

Baalah, and Iim, and Azem,

30 E ltolad, Quesil, Horma,

And Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,

And Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all the cities are twenty and nine, with their villages:

33 E n las tierras bajas: Estaol, Zora, Asena,

And in the valley, Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,

34 Z anoa, En Ganim, Tapúa, Enam,

And Zanoah, and Engannim, Tappuah, and Enam,

35 J armut, Adulam, Soco, Azeca,

Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah,

36 S aaraim, Aditaim, Gedera y Gederotaim; catorce ciudades con sus aldeas.

And Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages:

37 Z enán, Hadasa, Migdal Gad,

Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdalgad,

38 D ileán, Mizpa, Jocteel,

And Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,

39 L aquis, Boscat, Eglón,

Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,

40 C abón, Lahmam, Quitlis,

And Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish,

41 G ederot, Bet Dagón, Naama y Maceda; dieciséis ciudades con sus aldeas.

And Gederoth, Bethdagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages:

42 L ibna, Eter, Asán,

Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan,

43 J ifta, Asena, Nezib,

And Jiphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,

44 K eila, Aczib y Maresa; nueve ciudades con sus aldeas.

And Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages:

45 E crón con sus pueblos y sus aldeas;

Ekron, with her towns and her villages:

46 d esde Ecrón hasta el mar, todas las que estaban cerca de Asdod, con sus aldeas.

From Ekron even unto the sea, all that lay near Ashdod, with their villages:

47 A sdod, sus pueblos y sus aldeas; Gaza, sus pueblos y sus aldeas; hasta el torrente de Egipto y el Mar Grande (Mar Mediterráneo) y sus costas.

Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, unto the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border thereof:

48 Y en la región montañosa: Samir, Jatir, Soco,

And in the mountains, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh,

49 D ana, Quiriat Sana, es decir, Debir,

And Dannah, and Kirjathsannah, which is Debir,

50 A nab, Estemoa, Anim,

And Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim,

51 G osén, Holón y Gilo; once ciudades con sus aldeas.

And Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages:

52 A rab, Duma, Esán,

Arab, and Dumah, and Eshean,

53 J anum, Bet Tapúa, Afeca,

And Janum, and Bethtappuah, and Aphekah,

54 H umta, Quiriat Arba, es decir, Hebrón, y Sior; nueve ciudades con sus aldeas.

And Humtah, and Kirjatharba, which is Hebron, and Zior; nine cities with their villages:

55 M aón, Carmel, Zif, Juta,

Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah,

56 J ezreel, Jocdeam, Zanoa,

And Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,

57 C aín, Guibeá y Timna; diez ciudades con sus aldeas.

Cain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages:

58 H alhul, Bet Sur, Gedor,

Halhul, Bethzur, and Gedor,

59 M aarat, Bet Anot y Eltecón; seis ciudades con sus aldeas.

And Maarath, and Bethanoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages:

60 Q uiriat Baal, es decir, Quiriat Jearim, y Rabá; dos ciudades con sus aldeas.

Kirjathbaal, which is Kirjathjearim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages:

61 E n el desierto: Bet Arabá, Midín, Secaca,

In the wilderness, Betharabah, Middin, and Secacah,

62 N ibsán, la Ciudad de la Sal y Engadi; seis ciudades con sus aldeas.

And Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and Engedi; six cities with their villages.

63 P ero a los Jebuseos, habitantes de Jerusalén, los hijos de Judá no pudieron expulsarlos; por tanto, los Jebuseos habitan hasta hoy en Jerusalén con los hijos de Judá.

As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out; but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.
