1 L evantando Jesús la vista, vio a los ricos que echaban sus ofrendas en el arca del tesoro.

And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.

2 V io también a una viuda pobre que echaba allí dos pequeñas monedas de cobre;

And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.

3 y dijo: “En verdad les digo, que esta viuda tan pobre echó más que todos ellos;

And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:

4 p orque todos ellos echaron en la ofrenda de lo que les sobra, pero ella, de su pobreza, echó todo lo que tenía para vivir.” Profecía sobre la Destrucción del Templo

For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.

5 M ientras algunos estaban hablando del templo, de cómo estaba adornado con hermosas piedras y ofrendas votivas, Jesús dijo:

And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,

6 “ En cuanto a estas cosas que ustedes están mirando, vendrán días en que no quedará piedra sobre piedra que no sea derribada.”

As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

7 E llos Le preguntaron: “Maestro, ¿cuándo sucederá esto, y qué señal habrá cuando estas cosas vayan a suceder?”

And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?

8 J esús respondió: “Cuídense de no ser engañados; porque muchos vendrán en Mi nombre, diciendo: ‘Yo soy el Cristo (el Mesías),’ y: ‘El tiempo está cerca.’ No los sigan.

And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

9 Y cuando oigan de guerras y disturbios, no se aterroricen; porque estas cosas tienen que suceder primero, pero el fin no sucederá inmediatamente.” Señales y Persecuciones

But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

10 E ntonces les dijo: “Se levantará nación contra nación y reino contra reino;

Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

11 h abrá grandes terremotos, y plagas y hambres en diversos lugares; y habrá terrores y grandes señales del cielo.

And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

12 “ Pero antes de todas estas cosas, a ustedes les echarán mano, y los perseguirán, entregándolos a las sinagogas y cárceles, llevándolos ante reyes y gobernadores por causa de Mi nombre.

But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

13 E sto les dará oportunidad de testificar.

And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

14 P or tanto, propónganse en sus corazones no preparar de antemano su defensa;

Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:

15 p orque Yo les daré a ustedes palabras y sabiduría que ninguno de sus adversarios podrá resistir ni contradecir.

For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

16 P ero serán entregados aun por padres, hermanos, parientes y amigos; y matarán a algunos de ustedes,

And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.

17 y serán odiados de todos por causa de Mi nombre.

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

18 S in embargo, ni un cabello de su cabeza perecerá.

But there shall not an hair of your head perish.

19 C on su perseverancia ganarán sus almas.

In your patience possess ye your souls.

20 “ Pero cuando ustedes vean a Jerusalén rodeada de ejércitos, sepan entonces que su desolación está cerca.

And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

21 E ntonces los que estén en Judea, huyan a los montes, y los que estén en medio de la ciudad, aléjense; y los que estén en los campos, no entren en ella.

Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

22 P orque estos son días de venganza, para que se cumplan todas las cosas que están escritas.

For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

23 ¡ Ay de las que estén encinta y de las que estén criando en aquellos días! Porque habrá una gran calamidad sobre la tierra, e ira para este pueblo.

But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

24 C aerán a filo de espada y serán llevados cautivos a todas las naciones. Jerusalén será pisoteada por los Gentiles, hasta que los tiempos de los Gentiles se cumplan. La Venida del Hijo del Hombre

And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

25 “ Habrá señales en el sol, en la luna y en las estrellas, y sobre la tierra, angustia entre las naciones, perplejas a causa del rugido del mar y de las olas,

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

26 d esfalleciendo los hombres por el temor y la expectación de las cosas que vendrán sobre el mundo; porque las potencias de los cielos serán sacudidas.

Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

27 E ntonces verán al Hijo del Hombre que viene en una nube con poder y gran gloria.

And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

28 C uando estas cosas empiecen a suceder, levántense y alcen la cabeza, porque se acerca su redención.” Parábola de la Higuera

And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

29 J esús les dijo también una parábola: “Miren la higuera y todos los árboles.

And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;

30 C uando ya brotan las hojas, al verlo, ustedes mismos saben que el verano ya está cerca.

When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.

31 A simismo ustedes, cuando vean que suceden estas cosas, sepan que el reino de Dios está cerca.

So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

32 E n verdad les digo que no pasará esta generación hasta que todo esto suceda.

Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

33 E l cielo y la tierra pasarán, pero Mis palabras no pasarán. Exhortación a Velar

Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

34 “ Estén alerta, no sea que sus corazones se carguen con disipación, embriaguez y con las preocupaciones de la vida, y aquel día venga súbitamente sobre ustedes como un lazo;

And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

35 p orque vendrá sobre todos los que habitan sobre la superficie de toda la tierra.

For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

36 P ero velen en todo tiempo, orando para que tengan fuerza para escapar de todas estas cosas que están por suceder, y puedan estar en pie delante del Hijo del Hombre.”

Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

37 D urante el día Jesús enseñaba en el templo, pero al oscurecer salía y pasaba la noche en el monte llamado de los Olivos.

And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.

38 Y todo el pueblo iba temprano al templo a escuchar a Jesús.

And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.
