1 A hora, hermanos, les damos a conocer la gracia de Dios que ha sido dada en las iglesias de Macedonia.

Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;

2 P ues en medio de una gran prueba de aflicción, abundó su gozo, y su profunda pobreza sobreabundó en la riqueza de su liberalidad.

How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.

3 P orque yo testifico que según sus posibilidades, y aun más allá de sus posibilidades, dieron de su propia voluntad,

For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;

4 s uplicándonos con muchos ruegos el privilegio de participar en el sostenimiento (servicio) de los santos.

Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.

5 Y esto no como lo habíamos esperado, sino que primeramente se dieron a sí mismos al Señor, y luego a nosotros por la voluntad de Dios.

And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.

6 E n consecuencia, rogamos a Tito que como él ya había comenzado antes, así también llevara a cabo en ustedes esta obra de gracia.

Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also.

7 P ero así como ustedes abundan en todo: en fe, en palabra, en conocimiento, en toda solicitud, y en el amor que hemos inspirado en ustedes, vean que también abunden en esta obra de gracia.

Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.

8 N o digo esto como un mandamiento, sino para probar, por la solicitud de otros, también la sinceridad del amor de ustedes.

I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.

9 P orque conocen la gracia de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que siendo rico, sin embargo por amor a ustedes se hizo pobre, para que por medio de Su pobreza ustedes llegaran a ser ricos.

For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

10 D oy mi opinión en este asunto, porque esto les conviene a ustedes, que fueron los primeros en comenzar hace un año no sólo a hacer esto, sino también a desear hacerlo.

And herein I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago.

11 A hora pues, acaben también de hacerlo; para que como hubo la buena voluntad para desearlo, así también la haya para llevarlo a cabo según lo que tengan.

Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have.

12 P orque si hay buena voluntad, se acepta según lo que se tiene, no según lo que no se tiene.

For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.

13 E sto no es para holgura de otros y para aflicción de ustedes, sino para que haya igualdad.

For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:

14 E n el momento actual la abundancia de ustedes suple la necesidad de ellos, para que también la abundancia de ellos supla la necesidad de ustedes, de modo que haya igualdad.

But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:

15 C omo está escrito: “ El que recogió mucho, no tuvo demasiado; y el que recogió poco, no tuvo escasez.” Delegación Encabezada por Tito

As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack.

16 P ero gracias a Dios que pone la misma solicitud por ustedes en el corazón de Tito.

But thanks be to God, which put the same earnest care into the heart of Titus for you.

17 P ues él no sólo aceptó nuestro ruego, sino que, siendo de por sí muy diligente, ha ido a ustedes por su propia voluntad.

For indeed he accepted the exhortation; but being more forward, of his own accord he went unto you.

18 J unto con él hemos enviado al hermano cuya fama en las cosas del evangelio se ha divulgado por todas las iglesias.

And we have sent with him the brother, whose praise is in the gospel throughout all the churches;

19 Y no sólo esto, sino que también ha sido designado por las iglesias como nuestro compañero de viaje en esta obra de gracia, la cual es administrada por nosotros para la gloria del Señor mismo, y para manifestar nuestra buena voluntad;

And not that only, but who was also chosen of the churches to travel with us with this grace, which is administered by us to the glory of the same Lord, and declaration of your ready mind:

20 t eniendo cuidado de que nadie nos desacredite en esta generosa ofrenda administrada por nosotros.

Avoiding this, that no man should blame us in this abundance which is administered by us:

21 P ues nos preocupamos por lo que es honrado, no sólo ante los ojos del Señor, sino también ante los ojos de los hombres.

Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.

22 C on ellos hemos enviado a nuestro hermano, de quien hemos comprobado con frecuencia que fue diligente en muchas cosas, pero que ahora es mucho más diligente debido a la gran confianza que tiene en ustedes.

And we have sent with them our brother, whom we have oftentimes proved diligent in many things, but now much more diligent, upon the great confidence which I have in you.

23 E n cuanto a Tito, es mi compañero y colaborador entre ustedes; en cuanto a nuestros hermanos, son mensajeros de las iglesias y gloria de Cristo (el Mesías).

Whether any do enquire of Titus, he is my partner and fellowhelper concerning you: or our brethren be enquired of, they are the messengers of the churches, and the glory of Christ.

24 P or tanto, muéstrenles abiertamente ante las iglesias la prueba de su amor, y de nuestra razón para jactarnos respecto a ustedes.

Wherefore shew ye to them, and before the churches, the proof of your love, and of our boasting on your behalf.
