1 “ Porque el reino de los cielos es semejante a un hacendado que salió muy de mañana para contratar obreros para su viña.

For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.

2 Y habiendo convenido con los obreros en un denario (moneda romana; salario de un día) al día, los envió a su viña.

And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.

3 S alió después como a la hora tercera (9 a. m.), y vio parados en la plaza a otros que estaban sin trabajo;

And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,

4 y a éstos les dijo: ‘Vayan también ustedes a la viña, y les daré lo que sea justo.’ Y ellos fueron.

And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.

5 V olvió a salir como a la hora sexta (mediodía) y a la novena (3 p. m.), e hizo lo mismo.

Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.

6 Y saliendo como a la hora undécima (5 p. m.), encontró a otros parados, y les dijo: ‘¿Por qué han estado aquí parados todo el día sin trabajar?’

And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?

7 E llos le dijeron: ‘Porque nadie nos ha contratado.’ El les dijo: ‘Vayan también ustedes a la viña.’

They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive.

8 “ Al atardecer, el señor de la viña dijo a su mayordomo: ‘Llama a los obreros y págales su jornal, comenzando por los últimos y terminando con los primeros.’

So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first.

9 C uando llegaron los que habían sido contratados como a la hora undécima (5 p. m.), cada uno recibió un denario.

And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.

10 C uando llegaron los que fueron contratados primero, pensaban que recibirían más; pero ellos también recibieron un denario cada uno.

But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.

11 Y al recibirlo, murmuraban contra el hacendado,

And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house,

12 d iciendo: ‘Estos últimos han trabajado sólo una hora, pero usted los ha hecho iguales a nosotros que hemos soportado el peso y el calor abrasador del día.’

Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.

13 P ero respondiendo el hacendado, dijo a uno de ellos: ‘Amigo, no te hago ninguna injusticia; ¿no conviniste conmigo en un denario?

But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?

14 T oma lo que es tuyo, y vete; pero yo quiero darle a este último lo mismo que a ti.

Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee.

15 ¿ No me es lícito hacer lo que quiero con lo que es mío? ¿O es tu ojo malo porque yo soy bueno?’

Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?

16 A sí, los últimos serán primeros, y los primeros, últimos.” Jesús Anuncia Su Muerte por Tercera Vez

So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

17 C uando Jesús iba subiendo a Jerusalén, tomó aparte a los doce discípulos, y por el camino les dijo:

And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them,

18 “ Ahora subimos a Jerusalén, y el Hijo del Hombre será entregado a los principales sacerdotes y escribas, y Lo condenarán a muerte;

Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,

19 y Lo entregarán a los Gentiles para burlarse de El, Lo azotarán y crucificarán, pero al tercer día resucitará.” Petición de los Hijos de Zebedeo

And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.

20 E ntonces se acercó a Jesús la madre de los hijos de Zebedeo con sus hijos, y postrándose ante El, Le pidió algo.

Then came to him the mother of Zebedees children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.

21 J esús le preguntó: “¿Qué deseas?” Ella Le dijo: “Ordena que en Tu reino estos dos hijos míos se sienten uno a Tu derecha y el otro a Tu izquierda.”

And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom.

22 P ero Jesús dijo: “No saben lo que piden. ¿Pueden beber la copa que Yo voy a beber?” Ellos respondieron: “Podemos.”

But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.

23 E l les dijo: “Mi copa ciertamente beberán, pero el sentarse a Mi derecha y a Mi izquierda no es Mío el concederlo, sino que es para quienes ha sido preparado por Mi Padre.”

And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.

24 A l oír esto, los otros diez se indignaron contra los dos hermanos.

And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren.

25 P ero Jesús, llamándolos junto a El, dijo: “Ustedes saben que los gobernantes de los Gentiles se enseñorean de ellos, y que los grandes ejercen autoridad sobre ellos.

But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.

26 N o ha de ser así entre ustedes, sino que el que entre ustedes quiera llegar a ser grande, será su servidor,

But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;

27 y el que entre ustedes quiera ser el primero, será su siervo;

And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:

28 a sí como el Hijo del Hombre no vino para ser servido, sino para servir y para dar Su vida en rescate por muchos.” Curación de Dos Ciegos de Jericó

Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

29 A l salir de Jericó, una gran multitud siguió a Jesús.

And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.

30 Y dos ciegos que estaban sentados junto al camino, al oír que Jesús pasaba, gritaron: “¡Señor, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de nosotros!”

And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.

31 L a gente los reprendía para que se callaran, pero ellos gritaban más aún: “¡Señor, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de nosotros!”

And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.

32 Y deteniéndose Jesús, los llamó y les dijo: “¿Qué quieren que Yo haga por ustedes?”

And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you?

33 E llos Le respondieron: “Señor, deseamos que nuestros ojos sean abiertos.”

They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.

34 E ntonces Jesús, movido a compasión, tocó los ojos de ellos, y al instante recobraron la vista, y Lo siguieron.

So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.
