1 E ntonces el Señor dijo a Moisés: “Ve a Faraón y dile: ‘Así dice el Señor: “Deja ir a Mi pueblo para que Me sirva.

And the Lord spake unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

2 P ero si te niegas a dejar los ir, entonces heriré todo tu territorio con ranas.

And if thou refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all thy borders with frogs:

3 E l Nilo se llenará de ranas, que subirán y entrarán en tu casa, en tu alcoba y sobre tu cama, en las casas de tus siervos y en tu pueblo, en tus hornos y en tus artesas.

And the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into thine house, and into thy bedchamber, and upon thy bed, and into the house of thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thine ovens, and into thy kneadingtroughs:

4 S ubirán las ranas sobre ti, sobre tu pueblo y sobre todos tus siervos.”’”

And the frogs shall come up both on thee, and upon thy people, and upon all thy servants.

5 D ijo además el Señor a Moisés: “Dile a Aarón: ‘Extiende tu mano con tu vara sobre los ríos, sobre los arroyos y sobre los estanques, y haz que suban ranas sobre la tierra de Egipto.’”

And the Lord spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch forth thine hand with thy rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up upon the land of Egypt.

6 A arón extendió su mano sobre las aguas de Egipto, y las ranas subieron y cubrieron la tierra de Egipto.

And Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt.

7 L os magos (sacerdotes adivinos) hicieron lo mismo con sus encantamientos (ciencias ocultas), e hicieron subir ranas sobre la tierra de Egipto.

And the magicians did so with their enchantments, and brought up frogs upon the land of Egypt.

8 E ntonces Faraón llamó a Moisés y a Aarón, y dijo: “Rueguen al Señor para que quite las ranas de mí y de mi pueblo, y yo dejaré ir al pueblo para que ofrezca sacrificios al Señor.”

Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, Intreat the Lord, that he may take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may do sacrifice unto the Lord.

9 M oisés dijo a Faraón: “Dígnate decirme cuándo he de rogar por ti, por tus siervos y por tu pueblo, para que las ranas sean quitadas de ti y de tus casas y queden solamente en el río.”

And Moses said unto Pharaoh, Glory over me: when shall I intreat for thee, and for thy servants, and for thy people, to destroy the frogs from thee and thy houses, that they may remain in the river only?

10 “ Mañana,” respondió Faraón. Entonces Moisés dijo: “Sea conforme a tu palabra para que sepas que no hay nadie como el Señor nuestro Dios.

And he said, To morrow. And he said, Be it according to thy word: that thou mayest know that there is none like unto the Lord our God.

11 L as ranas se alejarán de ti, de tus casas, de tus siervos y de tu pueblo; sólo quedarán en el Nilo.”

And the frogs shall depart from thee, and from thy houses, and from thy servants, and from thy people; they shall remain in the river only.

12 E ntonces Moisés y Aarón salieron de la presencia de Faraón, y Moisés clamó al Señor acerca de las ranas que El había puesto sobre Faraón.

And Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh: and Moses cried unto the Lord because of the frogs which he had brought against Pharaoh.

13 Y el Señor hizo conforme a la palabra de Moisés, y murieron las ranas en las casas, en los patios y en los campos.

And the Lord did according to the word of Moses; and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the villages, and out of the fields.

14 L as juntaron en montones, y la tierra se corrompió.

And they gathered them together upon heaps: and the land stank.

15 P ero al ver Faraón que había alivio, endureció su corazón y no los escuchó, tal como el Señor había dicho. Tercera Plaga: Los Piojos

But when Pharaoh saw that there was respite, he hardened his heart, and hearkened not unto them; as the Lord had said.

16 E ntonces el Señor dijo a Moisés: “Dile a Aarón: ‘Extiende tu vara y golpea el polvo de la tierra para que se convierta en piojos por toda la tierra de Egipto.’”

And the Lord said unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy rod, and smite the dust of the land, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt.

17 Y así lo hicieron. Aarón extendió su mano con su vara, y golpeó el polvo de la tierra, y hubo piojos en hombres y animales. Todo el polvo de la tierra se convirtió en piojos por todo el país de Egipto.

And they did so; for Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and smote the dust of the earth, and it became lice in man, and in beast; all the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt.

18 L os magos (sacerdotes adivinos) trataron de producir piojos con sus encantamientos (ciencias ocultas), pero no pudieron. Hubo, pues, piojos en hombres y animales.

And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not: so there were lice upon man, and upon beast.

19 E ntonces los magos (sacerdotes adivinos) dijeron a Faraón: “Este es el dedo de Dios.” Pero el corazón de Faraón se endureció y no los escuchó, tal como el Señor había dicho. Cuarta Plaga: Los insectos

Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the Lord had said.

20 E l Señor dijo a Moisés: “Levántate muy de mañana y ponte delante de Faraón cuando salga del agua, dile: ‘Así dice el Señor: “Deja ir a Mi pueblo para que Me sirva.

And the Lord said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh; lo, he cometh forth to the water; and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

21 P orque si no dejas ir a Mi pueblo, entonces enviaré enjambres de insectos sobre ti y sobre tus siervos, sobre tu pueblo y dentro de tus casas. Las casas de los Egipcios se llenarán de enjambres de insectos, y también el suelo sobre el cual están.

Else, if thou wilt not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies upon thee, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thy houses: and the houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground whereon they are.

22 P ero en aquel día Yo pondré aparte la tierra de Gosén en la que mora Mi pueblo, para que no haya allí enjambres de insectos, a fin de que sepas que Yo, el Señor, estoy en medio de la tierra.

And I will sever in that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end thou mayest know that I am the Lord in the midst of the earth.

23 Y o haré distinción entre Mi pueblo y tu pueblo. Mañana tendrá lugar esta señal.”’”

And I will put a division between my people and thy people: to morrow shall this sign be.

24 A sí lo hizo el Señor. Y entraron grandes enjambres de insectos en la casa de Faraón y en las casas de sus siervos, y en todo el país de Egipto la tierra fue devastada a causa de los enjambres de insectos.

And the Lord did so; and there came a grievous swarm of flies into the house of Pharaoh, and into his servants' houses, and into all the land of Egypt: the land was corrupted by reason of the swarm of flies.

25 E ntonces llamó Faraón a Moisés y a Aarón, y dijo: “Vayan, ofrezcan sacrificio a su Dios dentro del país.”

And Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said, Go ye, sacrifice to your God in the land.

26 “ No conviene que lo hagamos así,” respondió Moisés, “porque es abominación para los Egipcios lo que sacrificaremos al Señor nuestro Dios. Si sacrificamos lo que es abominación para los Egipcios delante de sus ojos, ¿no nos apedrearán?

And Moses said, It is not meet so to do; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to the Lord our God: lo, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, and will they not stone us?

27 A ndaremos una distancia de tres días de camino en el desierto, y ofreceremos sacrificios al Señor nuestro Dios, tal como El nos manda.”

We will go three days' journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to the Lord our God, as he shall command us.

28 E l Faraón dijo: “Los dejaré ir para que ofrezcan sacrificio al Señor su Dios en el desierto, sólo que no vayan muy lejos. Oren por mí.”

And Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that ye may sacrifice to the Lord your God in the wilderness; only ye shall not go very far away: intreat for me.

29 “ Voy a salir de tu presencia,” le contestó Moisés “y rogaré al Señor que los enjambres de insectos se alejen mañana de Faraón, de sus siervos y de su pueblo. Pero que Faraón no vuelva a obrar con engaño, no dejando ir al pueblo a ofrecer sacrificios al Señor.”

And Moses said, Behold, I go out from thee, and I will intreat the Lord that the swarms of flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, to morrow: but let not Pharaoh deal deceitfully any more in not letting the people go to sacrifice to the Lord.

30 S alió Moisés de la presencia de Faraón y oró al Señor.

And Moses went out from Pharaoh, and intreated the Lord.

31 Y el Señor hizo como Moisés Le pidió, y quitó los enjambres de insectos de Faraón, de sus siervos y de su pueblo. No quedó ni uno solo.

And the Lord did according to the word of Moses; and he removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people; there remained not one.

32 P ero Faraón endureció su corazón también esta vez y no dejó salir al pueblo.

And Pharaoh hardened his heart at this time also, neither would he let the people go.
