One generation will commend your works to another, and will declare your mighty acts.

5 J e dirai la splendeur glorieuse de ta majesté; Je chanterai tes merveilles.

Of the glorious majesty of your honor, of your wondrous works, I will meditate.

6 O n parlera de ta puissance redoutable, Et je raconterai ta grandeur.

Men will speak of the might of your awesome acts. I will declare your greatness.

7 Q u'on proclame le souvenir de ton immense bonté, Et qu'on célèbre ta justice!

They will utter the memory of your great goodness, and will sing of your righteousness.

8 L 'Éternel est miséricordieux et compatissant, Lent à la colère et plein de bonté.

Yahweh is gracious, merciful, slow to anger, and of great loving kindness.

9 L 'Éternel est bon envers tous, Et ses compassions s'étendent sur toutes ses oeuvres.

Yahweh is good to all. His tender mercies are over all his works.

10 T outes tes oeuvres te loueront, ô Éternel! Et tes fidèles te béniront.

All your works will give thanks to you, Yahweh. Your saints will extol you.

11 I ls diront la gloire de ton règne, Et ils proclameront ta puissance,

They will speak of the glory of your kingdom, and talk about your power;

12 P our faire connaître aux fils de l'homme ta puissance Et la splendeur glorieuse de ton règne.

to make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, the glory of the majesty of his kingdom.

13 T on règne est un règne de tous les siècles, Et ta domination subsiste dans tous les âges.

Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. Your dominion endures throughout all generations. Yahweh is faithful in all his words, and loving in all his deeds.

14 L 'Éternel soutient tous ceux qui tombent, Et il redresse tous ceux qui sont courbés.

Yahweh upholds all who fall, and raises up all those who are bowed down.

15 L es yeux de tous espèrent en toi, Et tu leur donnes la nourriture en son temps.

The eyes of all wait for you. You give them their food in due season.

16 T u ouvres ta main, Et tu rassasies à souhait tout ce qui a vie.

You open your hand, and satisfy the desire of every living thing.

17 L 'Éternel est juste dans toutes ses voies, Et miséricordieux dans toutes ses oeuvres.

Yahweh is righteous in all his ways, and gracious in all his works.

18 L 'Éternel est près de tous ceux qui l'invoquent, De tous ceux qui l'invoquent avec sincérité;

Yahweh is near to all those who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

19 I l accomplit les désirs de ceux qui le craignent, Il entend leur cri et il les sauve.

He will fulfill the desire of those who fear him. He also will hear their cry, and will save them.

20 L 'Éternel garde tous ceux qui l'aiment, Et il détruit tous les méchants.

Yahweh preserves all those who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.

21 Q ue ma bouche publie la louange de l'Éternel, Et que toute chair bénisse son saint nom, A toujours et à perpétuité!

My mouth will speak the praise of Yahweh. Let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever.
