1 A nd the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, and came to Jerusalem to prove Solomon with enigmas; with a very great train, and camels that bore spices and gold in great abundance, and precious stones; and she came to Solomon, and spoke with him of all that was in her heart.

Oyendo la reina de Sabá la fama de Salomón, vino a Jerusalén con un séquito muy grande, con camellos cargados de especias aromáticas, oro en abundancia, y piedras preciosas, para probar a Salomón con preguntas difíciles. Y luego que vino a Salomón, habló con él todo lo que en su corazón tenía.

2 A nd Solomon explained to her all she spoke of, and there was not a thing hidden from Solomon that he did not explain to her.

Pero Salomón le respondió a todas sus preguntas, y nada hubo que Salomón no le contestase.

3 A nd when the queen of Sheba saw the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,

Y viendo la reina de Sabá la sabiduría de Salomón, y la casa que había edificado,

4 a nd the food of his table, and the deportment of his servants, and the order of service of his attendants and their apparel, and his cupbearers and their apparel, and his ascent by which he went up to the house of Jehovah, there was no more spirit in her.

y las viandas de su mesa, las habitaciones de sus oficiales, el estado de sus criados y los vestidos de ellos, sus maestresalas y sus vestidos, y la escalinata por donde subía a la casa de Jehová, se quedó asombrada.

5 A nd she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thine affairs and of thy wisdom;

Y dijo al rey: Verdad es lo que había oído en mi tierra acerca de tus cosas y de tu sabiduría;

6 b ut I gave no credit to their words, until I came and mine eyes had seen; and behold, the half of the greatness of thy wisdom was not told me: thou exceedest the report that I heard.

pero yo no creía las palabras de ellos, hasta que he venido, y mis ojos han visto; y he aquí que ni aun la mitad de la grandeza de tu sabiduría me había sido dicha; porque tú superas la fama que yo había oído.

7 H appy are thy men, and happy are these thy servants, who stand continually before thee and hear thy wisdom!

Bienaventurados tus hombres, y dichosos estos siervos tuyos que están siempre delante de ti, y oyen tu sabiduría.

8 B lessed be Jehovah thy God, who delighted in thee, to set thee on his throne, to be king to Jehovah thy God! Because thy God loved Israel, to establish them for ever, therefore did he make thee king over them, to do judgment and justice.

Bendito sea Jehová tu Dios, el cual se ha agradado de ti para ponerte sobre su trono como rey para Jehová tu Dios; por cuanto tu Dios amó a Israel para afirmarlo perpetuamente, por eso te ha puesto por rey sobre ellos, para que hagas juicio y justicia.

9 A nd she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in very great abundance, and precious stones; neither was there any such spice as that which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.

Y dio al rey ciento veinte talentos de oro, y gran cantidad de especias aromáticas, y piedras preciosas; nunca hubo tales especias aromáticas como las que dio la reina de Sabá al rey Salomón.

10 ( And the servants also of Huram, and the servants of Solomon, who brought gold from Ophir, brought sandal-wood and precious stones.

También los siervos de Hiram y los siervos de Salomón, que habían traído el oro de Ofir, trajeron madera de sándalo, y piedras preciosas.

11 A nd the king made of the sandal-wood stairs for the house of Jehovah, and for the king's house, and harps and lutes for the singers. And there were none such seen before in the land of Judah.)

Y de la madera de sándalo el rey hizo gradas en la casa de Jehová y en las casas reales, y arpas y salterios para los cantores; nunca en la tierra de Judá se había visto madera semejante.

12 A nd king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, besides what she had brought to the king. And she turned and went to her own land, she and her servants.

Y el rey Salomón dio a la reina de Sabá todo lo que ella quiso y le pidió, más de lo que ella había traído al rey. Después ella se volvió y se fue a su tierra con sus siervos. Riquezas y fama de Salomón (1 R. 10. 14-29; 2 Cr. 1. 14-17)

13 A nd the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold,

El peso del oro que venía a Salomón cada año, era seiscientos sesenta y seis talentos de oro,

14 b esides dealers and merchants brought, and all the kings of Arabia and the governors of the country brought of gold and silver to Solomon.

sin lo que traían los mercaderes y negociantes; también todos los reyes de Arabia y los gobernadores de la tierra traían oro y plata a Salomón.

15 A nd king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold,—he applied six hundred of beaten gold to one target;

Hizo también el rey Salomón doscientos paveses de oro batido, cada uno de los cuales tenía seiscientos siclos de oro labrado;

16 a nd three hundred shields of beaten gold,—he applied three hundred of gold to one shield; and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

asimismo trescientos escudos de oro batido, teniendo cada escudo trescientos siclos de oro; y los puso el rey en la casa del bosque del Líbano.

17 A nd the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold;

Hizo además el rey un gran trono de marfil, y lo cubrió de oro puro.

18 a nd the throne had six steps, with a footstool of gold fastened to the throne; and there were arms on each side at the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the arms;

El trono tenía seis gradas, y un estrado de oro fijado al trono, y brazos a uno y otro lado del asiento, y dos leones que estaban junto a los brazos.

19 a nd twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the like made in any kingdom.

Había también allí doce leones sobre las seis gradas, a uno y otro lado. Jamás fue hecho trono semejante en reino alguno.

20 A nd all king Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of precious gold: silver was not of the least account in the days of Solomon.

Toda la vajilla del rey Salomón era de oro, y toda la vajilla de la casa del bosque del Líbano, de oro puro. En los días de Salomón la plata no era apreciada.

21 F or the king's ships went to Tarshish with the servants of Huram: once in three years came the ships of Tarshish, bringing gold and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.

Porque la flota del rey iba a Tarsis con los siervos de Hiram, y cada tres años solían venir las naves de Tarsis, y traían oro, plata, marfil, monos y pavos reales.

22 A nd king Solomon was greater than all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

Y excedió el rey Salomón a todos los reyes de la tierra en riqueza y en sabiduría.

23 A nd all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

Y todos los reyes de la tierra procuraban ver el rostro de Salomón, para oír la sabiduría que Dios le había dado.

24 A nd they brought every man his present, vessels of silver and vessels of gold, and clothing, armour, and spices, horses and mules, a rate year by year.

Cada uno de éstos traía su presente, alhajas de plata, alhajas de oro, vestidos, armas, perfumes, caballos y mulos, todos los años.

25 A nd Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; and he placed them in the chariot-cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

Tuvo también Salomón cuatro mil caballerizas para sus caballos y carros, y doce mil jinetes, los cuales puso en las ciudades de los carros, y con el rey en Jerusalén.

26 A nd he ruled over all the kings from the river as far as the land of the Philistines, and up to the border of Egypt.

Y tuvo dominio sobre todos los reyes desde el Eufrates hasta la tierra de los filisteos, y hasta la frontera de Egipto.

27 A nd the king made silver in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he as the sycamores that are in the lowland for abundance.

Y acumuló el rey plata en Jerusalén como piedras, y cedros como los cabrahigos de la Sefela en abundancia.

28 A nd they brought to Solomon horses out of Egypt, and out of all lands.

Traían también caballos para Salomón, de Egipto y de todos los países. Muerte de Salomón (1 R. 11. 41-43)

29 A nd the rest of the acts of Solomon first and last, are they not written in the words of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat?

Los demás hechos de Salomón, primeros y postreros, ¿no están todos escritos en los libros del profeta Natán, en la profecía de Ahías silonita, y en la profecía del vidente Iddo contra Jeroboam hijo de Nabat?

30 A nd Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.

Reinó Salomón en Jerusalén sobre todo Israel cuarenta años.

31 A nd Solomon slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David his father; and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.

Y durmió Salomón con sus padres, y lo sepultaron en la ciudad de David su padre; y reinó en su lugar Roboam su hijo.
