I the man hath seen affliction By the rod of His wrath.

Me He hath led, and causeth to go darkness, and without light.

Surely against me He turneth back, He turneth His hand all the day.

4 J iidhkaygii iyo haraggaygiiba wuu gaboojiyey, lafahaygiina wuu jejebiyey.

He hath worn out my flesh and my skin. He hath broken my bones.

5 W ax buu igu wareejiyey, oo wuxuu igu hareereeyey qadhaadh iyo dhib.

He hath built up against me, And setteth round poverty and weariness.

6 W uxuu iga dhigay inaan meelo gudcur ah dego sidii kuwii waagii hore dhintay.

In dark places He hath caused me to dwell, As the dead of old.

7 D erbi buu igu wareejiyey si aanan u bixi karin, silsiladdaydiina mid culus buu ka dhigay.

He hath hedged me about, and I go not out, He hath made heavy my fetter.

8 O o weliba markaan dhawaaqo oo aan caawimaad u qayshadona baryadayda wuu diidaa.

Also when I call and cry out, He hath shut out my prayer.

9 J idadkaygii wuxuu ku awday dhagaxyo la qoray, oo wadiiqooyinkaygiina wuu qalloociyey.

He hath hedged my ways with hewn work, My paths He hath made crooked.

10 W uxuu igu noqday sidii orso ii gabbanaysa iyo sidii libaax meelo qarsoon iigu dhuumanaya.

A bear lying in wait He to me, A lion in secret hiding-places.

11 J idadkaygii wuu iga leexiyey, oo cad cad buu ii kala jaray, cidla buuna iga dhigay.

My ways He is turning aside, and He pulleth me in pieces, He hath made me a desolation.

12 Q aansadiisii wuu xootay, oo wuxuu iga dhigay goolibaadhkii fallaadha.

He hath trodden His bow, And setteth me up as a mark for an arrow.

13 I sagu wuxuu ka dhigay fallaadhihii gabooyihiisu inay kelyahayga galaan.

He hath caused to enter into my reins The sons of His quiver.

14 W axaan dadkaygii oo dhan u noqday wax la quudhsado, oo maalintii oo dhanna gabaygooda way igu halqabsadaan.

I have been a derision to all my people, Their song all the day.

15 W uxuu iga buuxiyey qadhaadh, dacar buuna igu dhergiyey.

He hath filled me with bitter things, He hath filled me wormwood.

16 I lkahaygii dhagaxyo quruurux ah ayuu ku jejebiyey, oo dambas buu igu daboolay.

And He breaketh with gravel my teeth, He hath covered me with ashes.

17 N aftaydii nabad waad ka fogaysay, oo barwaaqo iyo wanaag waan illoobay.

And Thou castest off from peace my soul, I have forgotten prosperity.

18 W axaan is-idhi, Xooggaygii iyo rajadaydiiba xagga Rabbiga way ka baabbe'een.

And I say, Perished hath my strength and my hope from Jehovah.

19 X usuuso dhibkaygii iyo wareeggaygii, iyo dacartii iyo xammeetidii.

Remember my affliction and my mourning, Wormwood and gall!

20 N aftaydu iyagay weli soo xusuusataa, oo ceeb bay la foororsatay.

Remember well, and bow down doth my soul in me.

21 T an uun baan garwaaqsan ahay, sidaas daraaddeed rajaan leeyahay.

This I turn to my heart -- therefore I hope.

22 R abbiga naxariistiisa aawadeed ayaan laynoo baabbi'in, maxaa yeelay, raxmaddiisu ma dhammaato.

The kindnesses of Jehovah! For we have not been consumed, For not ended have His mercies.

23 S ubax walba way cusub yihiin, daacadnimadaaduna way weyn tahay.

New every morning, abundant thy faithfulness.

24 N aftaydu waxay tidhaahdaa, Rabbigu waa qaybtaydii, sidaas daraaddeed isagaan rajo ku qabi doonaa.

My portion Jehovah, hath my soul said, Therefore I hope for Him.

25 R abbigu waa u roon yahay kuwa isaga rajo ku suga iyo naftii isaga doondoontaba.

Good Jehovah to those waiting for Him, To the soul seeketh Him.

26 W axaa wanaagsan in badbaadinta Rabbiga rajo iyo aamusnaan lagu sugo.

Good! when one doth stay and stand still For the salvation of Jehovah.

27 W axaa wanaagsan in nin harqoodka qaato intuu dhallinyar yahay.

Good for a man that he beareth a yoke in his youth.

28 K eligiis ha fadhiisto isagoo aamusan, maxaa yeelay, isagaa kor saaray.

He sitteth alone, and is silent, For He hath laid upon him.

29 A fkiisa ciidda ha daro, waxaa suurtowda inay rajo jirto.

He putteth in the dust his mouth, if so be there is hope.

30 D habankiisa ha u dhiibo mid dharbaaxa, oo cay ha ka dhergo.

He giveth to his smiter the cheek, He is filled with reproach.

31 W aayo, Sayidku ilaa weligiis ma uu sii tuuri doono.

For the Lord doth not cast off to the age.

32 M axaa yeelay, inkastoo uu murugeeyo, haddana weli wuu ugu nixi doonaa naxariistiisa badnaanteeda aawadeed.

For though He afflicted, yet He hath pitied, According to the abundance of His kindness.

33 W aayo, isagu binu-aadmiga kas uma dhibo, umana murugeeyo.

For He hath not afflicted with His heart, Nor doth He grieve the sons of men.

34 I n maxaabiista dunida oo dhan cagaha hoostooda lagu burburiyo,

To bruise under one's feet any bound ones of earth,

35 I yo in dadka xaqiisa laga leexiyo Ilaaha sare hortiisa,

To turn aside the judgment of a man, Over-against the face of the Most High,

36 I yo in nin gartiisa laga qalloociyo, Sayidku raalli kama aha.

To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord hath not approved.

37 W aa kee kan wax odhanaya oo ay noqdaan, Sayidkoo aan amrin?

Who this -- he hath said, and it is, the Lord hath not commanded ?

38 K an ugu sarreeya afkiisa sow kama soo baxaan belaayo iyo wanaagba?

From the mouth of the Most High Go not forth the evils and the good.

39 B al maxaa nin noolu u cabtaa, maxaase nin ciqaabta dembigiisa uga cabtaa?

What -- sigh habitually doth a living man, A man for his sin?

40 J idadkeenna aynu baadhno, oo aynu tijaabinno, oo aynu mar kale Rabbiga u soo noqonno.

We search our ways, and investigate, And turn back unto Jehovah.

41 Q albigeenna iyo gacmaheenna aynu kor ugu taagno Ilaaha samooyinka ku jira.

We lift up our heart on the hands unto God in the heavens.

42 A nnagu waannu xadgudubnay oo waannu caasiyownay, oo adiguna nama aad saamixin.

We -- we have transgressed and rebelled, Thou -- Thou hast not forgiven.

43 C adho baad isku dabooshay, waanad na eryatay, waad na dishay, oo noomana aadan tudhin.

Thou hast covered Thyself with anger, And dost pursue us; Thou hast slain -- Thou hast not pitied.

44 D aruur baad isku dabooshay si aan baryona kuugu soo gudbin.

Thou hast covered Thyself with a cloud, So that prayer doth not pass through.

45 W axaad dadyowga dhexdooda naga dhigtay uskag iyo wax la nacay.

Offscouring and refuse Thou dost make us In the midst of the peoples.

46 C adaawayaashayadii oo dhammu afkay nagu kala qaadeen.

Opened against us their mouth have all our enemies.

47 W axaa noo yimid cabsi iyo yamays, iyo halligaad iyo baabbi'in.

Fear and a snare hath been for us, Desolation and destruction.

48 I ndhahayga waxaa ka daata durdurro ilmo ah, waana baabbi'inta dadkayga aawadeed.

Rivulets of water go down my eye, For the destruction of the daughter of my people.

49 I ndhahaygu had iyo goorba way qubtaan oo innaba ma joogsadaan

Mine eye is poured out, And doth not cease without intermission,

50 I lamaa Rabbigu hoos soo fiiriyo, oo uu samada ka soo eego.

Till Jehovah looketh and seeth from the heavens,

51 I ndhahaygu way ii murugeeyaan gabdhaha magaaladayda oo dhan daraaddood.

My eye affecteth my soul, Because of all the daughters of my city.

52 K uwii cadaawayaashayda sababla'aan u ahaa ayaa i ugaadhsaday sida shimbir loo ugaadhsado oo kale.

Hunted me sore as a bird have my enemies without cause.

53 W axay bohol iigu rideen si ay naftayda iiga qaadaan, oo dhagax bay igu soo kor tuureen.

They have cut off in a pit my life, And they cast a stone against me.

54 M adaxaygii biyaa ku kor daatay, oo waxaan is-idhi, Waad go'day.

Flowed have waters over my head, I have said, I have been cut off.

55 R abbiyow, anigoo godka ugu dheer ku dhex jira ayaan magacaaga ku baryootamay.

I called Thy name, O Jehovah, from the lower pit.

56 C odkaygii waad maqashay, bal dhegtaada ha ka xidhin neefsashadayda iyo baryadayda.

My voice Thou hast heard, Hide not Thine ear at my breathing -- at my cry.

57 M aalintii aan ku baryay ayaad ii soo dhowaatay, oo waxaad igu tidhi, Ha cabsan.

Thou hast drawn near in the day I call Thee, Thou hast said, Fear not.

58 S ayidow, naftayda dacwooyinkeeda waad ii qaadday, waadna i madaxfuratay.

Thou hast pleaded, O Lord, the pleadings of my soul, Thou hast redeemed my life.

59 R abbiyow, gardarradii laygu hayay waad aragtay ee ii garsoor.

Thou hast seen, O Jehovah, my overthrow, Judge Thou my cause.

60 A arsashadoodii oo dhan iyo wixii ay iigu fikireen oo dhanba waad wada aragtay.

Thou hast seen all their vengeance, All their thoughts of me.

61 R abbiyow, waad maqashay caydoodii oo dhan iyo wixii ay iigu fikireen oo dhan,

Thou hast heard their reproach, O Jehovah, All their thoughts against me,

62 I yo wixii kuwa igu kacay bushimahoodii lahaayeen, iyo wixii ay maalintii oo dhan ii qasdiyeenba.

The lips of my withstanders, Even their meditation against me all the day.

63 B al eeg, markay fadhiyaan iyo markay taagan yihiinba waxaan ahay waxay ka gabyaan.

Their sitting down, and their rising up, Behold attentively, I their song.

64 R abbiyow, waxaad iyaga siin doontaa abaalgud waafaqsan shuqullada gacmahooda.

Thou returnest to them the deed, O Jehovah, According to the work of their hands.

65 I ndhala'aanta qalbiga waad siin doontaa, inkaartaadana korkooda waad ka yeeli doontaa.

Thou givest to them a covered heart, Thy curse to them.

66 C adho baad ku eryan doontaa oo samadaada hoosteeda iyagaad ka baabbi'in doontaa.

Thou pursuest in anger, and destroyest them, From under the heavens of Jehovah!
