1 T o the Overseer. -- A Psalm of David. Hear, O God, my voice, in my meditation, From the fear of an enemy Thou keepest my life,

Escucha, oh Dios, la voz de mi queja; Guarda mi vida del temor del enemigo.

2 H idest me from the secret counsel of evil doers, From the tumult of workers of iniquity.

Escóndeme del consejo secreto de los malignos, De la conspiración de los que hacen iniquidad,

3 W ho sharpened as a sword their tongue, They directed their arrow -- a bitter word.

Que afilan como espada su lengua; Lanzan cual saeta suya, palabra amarga,

4 T o shoot in secret places the perfect, Suddenly they shoot him, and fear not.

Para asaetear a escondidas al íntegro; De repente lo asaetean, y no temen.

5 T hey strengthen for themselves an evil thing, They recount of the hiding of snares, They have said, `Who doth look at it?'

Obstinados en su inicuo designio, Tratan de esconder los lazos, Y dicen: ¿Quién los ha de ver?

6 T hey search out perverse things, `We perfected a searching search,' And the inward part of man, and the heart deep.

Inquieren iniquidades, hacen una investigación exacta; Y el íntimo pensamiento de cada uno de ellos, así como su corazón, es profundo.

7 A nd God doth shoot them an arrow, Sudden have been their wounds,

Mas Dios los herirá con saeta; De repente serán sus plagas.

8 A nd they cause him to stumble, Against them their own tongue, Every looker on them fleeth away.

Sus propias lenguas los harán caer; Se espantarán todos los que los vean.

9 A nd all men fear, and declare the work of God, And His deed they have considered wisely.

Entonces temerán todos los hombres, Y anunciarán la obra de Dios, Y entenderán sus hechos.

10 T he righteous doth rejoice in Jehovah, And hath trusted in Him, And boast themselves do all the upright of heart!

Se alegrará el justo en Jehová, y confiará en él; Y se gloriarán todos los rectos de corazón.
