1 A nd Balaam seeth that good in the eyes of Jehovah to bless Israel, and he hath not gone as time by time to meet enchantments, and he setteth towards the wilderness his face;

Cuando vio Balaam que parecía bien a Jehová que él bendijese a Israel, no fue, como la primera y segunda vez, en busca de ag: uero, sino que puso su rostro hacia el desierto;

2 a nd Balaam lifteth up his eyes, and seeth Israel tabernacling, by its tribes, and the Spirit of God is upon him,

y alzando sus ojos, vio a Israel alojado por sus tribus; y el Espíritu de Dios vino sobre él.

3 a nd he taketh up his simile, and saith: `An affirmation of Balaam son of Beor -- And an affirmation of the man whose eyes are shut --

Entonces tomó su parábola, y dijo: Dijo Balaam hijo de Beor, Y dijo el varón de ojos abiertos;

4 A n affirmation of him who is hearing sayings of God -- Who a vision of the Almighty seeth, Falling -- and eyes uncovered:

Dijo el que oyó los dichos de Dios, El que vio la visión del Omnipotente; Caído, pero abiertos los ojos:

5 H ow good have been thy tents, O Jacob, Thy tabernacles, O Israel;

Cuán hermosas son tus tiendas, oh Jacob, Tus habitaciones, oh Israel!

6 A s valleys they have been stretched out, As gardens by a river; As aloes Jehovah hath planted, As cedars by waters;

Como arroyos están extendidas, Como huertos junto al río, Como áloes plantados por Jehová, Como cedros junto a las aguas.

7 H e maketh water flow from his buckets, And his seed in many waters; And higher than Agag his king, And exalted is his kingdom.

De sus manos destilarán aguas, Y su descendencia será en muchas aguas; Enaltecerá su rey más que Agag, Y su reino será engrandecido.

8 G od is bringing him out of Egypt; As the swiftness of a Reem is to him, He eateth up nations his adversaries, And their bones he breaketh, And his arrows he smiteth,

Dios lo sacó de Egipto; Tiene fuerzas como de búfalo. Devorará a las naciones enemigas, Desmenuzará sus huesos, Y las traspasará con sus saetas.

9 H e hath bent, he hath lain down as a lion, And as a lioness: who doth raise him up? He who is blessing thee blessed, And he who is cursing thee cursed.'

Se encorvará para echarse como león, Y como leona; ¿quién lo despertará? Benditos los que te bendijeren, Y malditos los que te maldijeren. Profecía de Balaam

10 A nd the anger of Balak burneth against Balaam, and he striketh his hands; and Balak saith unto Balaam, `To pierce mine enemies I called thee, and lo, thou hast certainly blessed -- these three times;

Entonces se encendió la ira de Balac contra Balaam, y batiendo sus manos le dijo: Para maldecir a mis enemigos te he llamado, y he aquí los has bendecido ya tres veces.

11 a nd now, flee for thyself unto thy place; I have said, I do greatly honour thee, and lo, Jehovah hath kept thee back from honour.'

Ahora huye a tu lugar; yo dije que te honraría, mas he aquí que Jehová te ha privado de honra.

12 A nd Balaam saith unto Balak, `Did I not also unto thy messengers whom thou hast sent unto me, speak, saying,

Y Balaam le respondió: ¿No lo declaré yo también a tus mensajeros que me enviaste, diciendo:

13 I f Balak doth give to me the fulness of his house of silver and gold, I am not able to pass over the command of Jehovah, to do good or evil of mine own heart -- that which Jehovah speaketh -- it I speak?

Si Balac me diese su casa llena de plata y oro, yo no podré traspasar el dicho de Jehová para hacer cosa buena ni mala de mi arbitrio, mas lo que hable Jehová, eso diré yo?

14 a nd, now, lo, I am going to my people; come, I counsel thee that which this people doth to thy people, in the latter end of the days.'

He aquí, yo me voy ahora a mi pueblo; por tanto, ven, te indicaré lo que este pueblo ha de hacer a tu pueblo en los postreros días.

15 A nd he taketh up his simile, and saith: `An affirmation of Balaam son of Beor -- And an affirmation of the man whose eyes shut --

Y tomó su parábola, y dijo: Dijo Balaam hijo de Beor, Dijo el varón de ojos abiertos;

16 A n affirmation of him who is hearing sayings of God -- And knowing knowledge of the Most High; A vision of the Almighty he seeth, Falling -- and eyes uncovered:

Dijo el que oyó los dichos de Jehová, Y el que sabe la ciencia del Altísimo, El que vio la visión del Omnipotente; Caído, pero abiertos los ojos:

17 I see it, but not now; I behold it, but not near; A star hath proceeded from Jacob, And a sceptre hath risen from Israel, And hath smitten corners of Moab, And hath destroyed all sons of Sheth.

Lo veré, mas no ahora; Lo miraré, mas no de cerca; Saldrá ESTRELLA de Jacob, Y se levantará cetro de Israel, Y herirá las sienes de Moab, Y destruirá a todos los hijos de Set.

18 A nd Edom hath been a possession, And Seir hath been a possession, its enemies, And Israel is doing valiantly;

Será tomada Edom, Será también tomada Seir por sus enemigos, E Israel se portará varonilmente.

19 A nd doth rule out of Jacob, And hath destroyed a remnant from Ar.'

De Jacob saldrá el dominador, Y destruirá lo que quedare de la ciudad.

20 A nd he seeth Amalek, and taketh up his simile, and saith: `A beginning of the Goyim Amalek; And his latter end -- for ever he perisheth.'

Y viendo a Amalec, tomó su parábola y dijo: Amalec, cabeza de naciones; Mas al fin perecerá para siempre.

21 A nd he seeth the Kenite, and taketh up his simile, and saith: `Enduring thy dwelling, And setting in a rock thy nest,

Y viendo al ceneo, tomó su parábola y dijo: Fuerte es tu habitación; Pon en la peña tu nido;

22 B ut the Kenite is for a burning; Till when doth Asshur keep thee captive?'

Porque el ceneo será echado, Cuando Asiria te llevará cautivo.

23 A nd he taketh up his simile, and saith: `Alas! who doth live when God doth this?

Tomó su parábola otra vez, y dijo:!! Ay! ¿quién vivirá cuando hiciere Dios estas cosas?

24 A nd -- ships from the side of Chittim, And they have humbled Asshur, And they have humbled Eber, And it also for ever is perishing.'

Vendrán naves de la costa de Quitim, Y afligirán a Asiria, afligirán también a Heber; Mas él también perecerá para siempre.

25 A nd Balaam riseth, and goeth, and turneth back to his place, and Balak also hath gone on his way.

Entonces se levantó Balaam y se fue, y volvió a su lugar; y también Balac se fue por su camino.
