1 A nd come in unto me do certain of the elders of Israel, and sit before me.

Vinieron a mí algunos de los ancianos de Israel, y se sentaron delante de mí.

2 A nd there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,

Y vino a mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

3 ` Son of man, these men have caused their idols to go up on their heart, and the stumbling-block of their iniquity they have put over-against their faces; am I inquired of at all by them?

Hijo de hombre, estos hombres han puesto sus ídolos en su corazón, y han establecido el tropiezo de su maldad delante de su rostro. ¿Acaso he de ser yo en modo alguno consultado por ellos?

4 ` Therefore, speak with them, and thou hast said unto them: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Every one of the house of Israel who causeth his idols to go up unto his heart, and the stumbling-block of his iniquity setteth over-against his face, and hath gone in unto the prophet -- I Jehovah have given an answer to him for this, for the abundance of his idols,

Háblales, por tanto, y diles: Así ha dicho Jehová el Señor: Cualquier hombre de la casa de Israel que hubiere puesto sus ídolos en su corazón, y establecido el tropiezo de su maldad delante de su rostro, y viniere al profeta, yo Jehová responderé al que viniere conforme a la multitud de sus ídolos,

5 i n order to catch the house of Israel by their heart, in that they have become estranged from off me by their idols -- all of them.

para tomar a la casa de Israel por el corazón, ya que se han apartado de mí todos ellos por sus ídolos.

6 ` Therefore say unto the house of Israel: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Turn ye back, yea, turn ye back from your idols, and from all your abominations turn back your faces,

Por tanto, di a la casa de Israel: Así dice Jehová el Señor: Convertíos, y volveos de vuestros ídolos, y apartad vuestro rostro de todas vuestras abominaciones.

7 f or every one of the house of Israel, and of the sojourners who doth sojourn in Israel, who is separated from after Me, and doth cause his idols to go up unto his heart, and the stumbling-block of his iniquity setteth over-against his face, and hath come in unto the prophet to inquire of him concerning Me, I, Jehovah, have answered him for Myself;

Porque cualquier hombre de la casa de Israel, y de los extranjeros que moran en Israel, que se hubiere apartado de andar en pos de mí, y hubiere puesto sus ídolos en su corazón, y establecido delante de su rostro el tropiezo de su maldad, y viniere al profeta para preguntarle por mí, yo Jehová le responderé por mí mismo;

8 a nd I have set My face against that man, and made him for a sign, and for similes, and I have cut him off from the midst of My people, and ye have known that I Jehovah.

y pondré mi rostro contra aquel hombre, y le pondré por señal y por escarmiento, y lo cortaré de en medio de mi pueblo; y sabréis que yo soy Jehová.

9 ` And the prophet, when he is enticed, and hath spoken a word -- I, Jehovah, I have enticed that prophet, and have stretched out My hand against him, and have destroyed him from the midst of My people Israel.

Y cuando el profeta fuere engañado y hablare palabra, yo Jehová engañé al tal profeta; y extenderé mi mano contra él, y lo destruiré de en medio de mi pueblo Israel.

10 A nd they have borne their iniquity: as the iniquity of the inquirer, so is the iniquity of the prophet;

Y llevarán ambos el castigo de su maldad; como la maldad del que consultare, así será la maldad del profeta,

11 s o that the house of Israel do not wander any more from after Me, nor are defiled any more with all their transgressions, and they have been to Me for a people, and I am to them for God -- an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.'

para que la casa de Israel no se desvíe más de en pos de mí, ni se contamine más en todas sus rebeliones; y me sean por pueblo, y yo les sea por Dios, dice Jehová el Señor. Justicia del castigo de Jerusalén

12 A nd there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,

Vino a mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

13 ` Son of man, the land -- when it sinneth against Me to commit a trespass, and I have stretched out My hand against it, and broken for it the staff of bread, and sent into it famine, and cut off from it man and beast --

Hijo de hombre, cuando la tierra pecare contra mí rebelándose pérfidamente, y extendiere yo mi mano sobre ella, y le quebrantare el sustento del pan, y enviare en ella hambre, y cortare de ella hombres y bestias,

14 a nd these three men have been in its midst, Noah, Daniel, and Job -- they by their righteousness deliver their own soul -- an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.

si estuviesen en medio de ella estos tres varones, Noé, Daniel y Job, ellos por su justicia librarían únicamente sus propias vidas, dice Jehová el Señor.

15 ` If an evil beast I cause to pass through the land, and it hath bereaved, and it hath been a desolation, without any passing through because of the beast --

Y si hiciere pasar bestias feroces por la tierra y la asolaren, y quedare desolada de modo que no haya quien pase a causa de las fieras,

16 t hese three men in its midst: I live -- an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah -- neither sons nor daughters do they deliver; they alone are delivered, and the land is a desolation.

y estos tres varones estuviesen en medio de ella, vivo yo, dice Jehová el Señor, ni a sus hijos ni a sus hijas librarían; ellos solos serían librados, y la tierra quedaría desolada.

17 ` Or -- a sword I bring in against that land, and I have said: Sword, thou dost pass over through the land, and I have cut off from it man and beast --

O si yo trajere espada sobre la tierra, y dijere: Espada, pasa por la tierra; e hiciere cortar de ella hombres y bestias,

18 a nd these three men in its midst: I live -- an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah -- they deliver not sons and daughters, for they alone are delivered.

y estos tres varones estuviesen en medio de ella, vivo yo, dice Jehová el Señor, no librarían a sus hijos ni a sus hijas; ellos solos serían librados.

19 ` Or -- pestilence I send unto that land, and I have poured out My fury against it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast --

O si enviare pestilencia sobre esa tierra y derramare mi ira sobre ella en sangre, para cortar de ella hombres y bestias,

20 a nd Noah, Daniel, and Job, in its midst: I live -- an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah -- neither son nor daughter do they deliver; they, by their righteousness, deliver their own soul.

y estuviesen en medio de ella Noé, Daniel y Job, vivo yo, dice Jehová el Señor, no librarían a hijo ni a hija; ellos por su justicia librarían solamente sus propias vidas.

21 ` For thus said the Lord Jehovah: Although My four sore judgments -- sword, and famine, and wild beast, and pestilence -- I have sent unto Jerusalem, to cut off from it man and beast,

Por lo cual así ha dicho Jehová el Señor: ¿Cuánto más cuando yo enviare contra Jerusalén mis cuatro juicios terribles, espada, hambre, fieras y pestilencia, para cortar de ella hombres y bestias?

22 y et, lo, there hath been left in it an escape, who are brought forth, sons and daughters, lo, they are coming forth unto you, and ye have seen their way, and their doings, and have been comforted concerning the evil that I have brought in against Jerusalem, all that which I have brought in against it.

Sin embargo, he aquí quedará en ella un remanente, hijos e hijas, que serán llevados fuera; he aquí que ellos vendrán a vosotros, y veréis su camino y sus hechos, y seréis consolados del mal que hice venir sobre Jerusalén, de todas las cosas que traje sobre ella.

23 A nd they have comforted you, for ye see their way and their doings, and ye have known that not for nought have I done all that which I have done in her -- an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.'

Y os consolarán cuando viereis su camino y sus hechos, y conoceréis que no sin causa hice todo lo que he hecho en ella, dice Jehová el Señor.
