1 A nd it cometh to pass when all the kings of the Amorite which beyond the Jordan, towards the sea, and all the kings of the Canaanite which by the sea, hear how that Jehovah hath dried up the waters of the Jordan at the presence of the sons of Israel till their passing over, that their heart is melted, and there hath not been in them any more spirit because of the presence of the sons of Israel.

Cuando todos los reyes de los amorreos que estaban al otro lado del Jordán al occidente, y todos los reyes de los cananeos que estaban cerca del mar, oyeron cómo Jehová había secado las aguas del Jordán delante de los hijos de Israel hasta que hubieron pasado, desfalleció su corazón, y no hubo más aliento en ellos delante de los hijos de Israel.

2 A t that time said Jehovah unto Joshua, `Make for thee knives of flint, and turn back, circumcise the sons of Israel a second time;'

En aquel tiempo Jehová dijo a Josué: Hazte cuchillos afilados, y vuelve a circuncidar la segunda vez a los hijos de Israel.

3 a nd Joshua maketh for him knives of flint, and circumciseth the sons of Israel at the height of the foreskins.

Y Josué se hizo cuchillos afilados, y circuncidó a los hijos de Israel en el collado de Aralot.

4 A nd this the thing which Joshua circumciseth: all the people who are coming out of Egypt, who are males, all the men of war have died in the wilderness, in the way, in their coming out of Egypt,

Esta es la causa por la cual Josué los circuncidó: Todo el pueblo que había salido de Egipto, los varones, todos los hombres de guerra, habían muerto en el desierto, por el camino, después que salieron de Egipto.

5 f or all the people who are coming out were circumcised, and all the people who born in the wilderness, in the way, in their coming out from Egypt, they have not circumcised;

Pues todos los del pueblo que habían salido, estaban circuncidados; mas todo el pueblo que había nacido en el desierto, por el camino, después que hubieron salido de Egipto, no estaba circuncidado.

6 f or forty years have the sons of Israel gone in the wilderness, till all the nation of the men of war who are coming out of Egypt, who hearkened not to the voice of Jehovah, to whom Jehovah hath sworn not to show them the land which Jehovah sware to their fathers to give to us, a land flowing with milk and honey, are consumed;

Porque los hijos de Israel anduvieron por el desierto cuarenta años, hasta que todos los hombres de guerra que habían salido de Egipto fueron consumidos, por cuanto no obedecieron a la voz de Jehová; por lo cual Jehová les juró que no les dejaría ver la tierra de la cual Jehová había jurado a sus padres que nos la daría, tierra que fluye leche y miel.

7 a nd their sons He raised up in their stead, them hath Joshua circumcised, for they have been uncircumcised, for they have not circumcised them in the way.

A los hijos de ellos, que él había hecho suceder en su lugar, Josué los circuncidó; pues eran incircuncisos, porque no habían sido circuncidados por el camino.

8 A nd it cometh to pass when all the nation have completed to be circumcised, that they abide in their places in the camp till their recovering;

Y cuando acabaron de circuncidar a toda la gente, se quedaron en el mismo lugar en el campamento, hasta que sanaron.

9 a nd Jehovah saith unto Joshua, `To-day I have rolled the reproach of Egypt from off you;' and calleth the name of that place Gilgal unto this day.

Y Jehová dijo a Josué: Hoy he quitado de vosotros el oprobio de Egipto; por lo cual el nombre de aquel lugar fue llamado Gilgal, hasta hoy.

10 A nd the sons of Israel encamp in Gilgal, and make the passover on the fourteenth day of the month, at evening, in the plains of Jericho;

Y los hijos de Israel acamparon en Gilgal, y celebraron la pascua a los catorce días del mes, por la tarde, en los llanos de Jericó.

11 a nd they eat of the old corn of the land on the morrow of the passover, unleavened things and roasted, in this self-same day;

Al otro día de la pascua comieron del fruto de la tierra, los panes sin levadura, y en el mismo día espigas nuevas tostadas.

12 a nd the manna doth cease on the morrow in their eating of the old corn of the land, and there hath been no more manna to the sons of Israel, and they eat of the increase of the land of Canaan in that year.

Y el maná cesó el día siguiente, desde que comenzaron a comer del fruto de la tierra; y los hijos de Israel nunca más tuvieron maná, sino que comieron de los frutos de la tierra de Canaán aquel año. Josué y el varón con la espada desenvainada

13 A nd it cometh to pass in Joshua's being by Jericho, that he lifteth up his eyes, and looketh, and lo, one standing over-against him, and his drawn sword in his hand, and Joshua goeth unto him, and saith to him, `Art thou for us or for our adversaries?'

Estando Josué cerca de Jericó, alzó sus ojos y vio un varón que estaba delante de él, el cual tenía una espada desenvainada en su mano. Y Josué, yendo hacia él, le dijo: ¿Eres de los nuestros, o de nuestros enemigos?

14 A nd He saith, `No, for I Prince of Jehovah's host; now I have come;' and Joshua falleth on his face to the earth, and doth obeisance, and saith to Him, `What is my Lord speaking unto His servant?'

El respondió: No; mas como Príncipe del ejército de Jehová he venido ahora. Entonces Josué, postrándose sobre su rostro en tierra, le adoró; y le dijo: ¿Qué dice mi Señor a su siervo?

15 A nd the Prince of Jehovah's host saith unto Joshua, `Cast off thy shoe from off thy foot, for the place on which thou art standing is holy;' and Joshua doth so;

Y el Príncipe del ejército de Jehová respondió a Josué: Quita el calzado de tus pies, porque el lugar donde estás es santo. Y Josué así lo hizo.
