1 A conteció después de la mortandad, que Jehová habló a Moisés y a Eleazar hijo del sacerdote Aarón, diciendo:

After the very bad disease came on the people because of Israel’s sin, the Lord said to Moses and Eleazar the son of Aaron the religious leader,

2 T omad el censo de toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel, de veinte años arriba, por las casas de sus padres, todos los que pueden salir a la guerra en Israel.

“Add the numbers of all the people of Israel who are twenty years old and older, by their fathers’ houses. Number whoever in Israel is able to go to war.”

3 Y Moisés y el sacerdote Eleazar hablaron con ellos en los campos de Moab, junto al Jordán frente a Jericó, diciendo:

So Moses and Eleazar the religious leader said to the people in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho,

4 C ontaréis el pueblo de veinte años arriba, como mandó Jehová a Moisés y a los hijos de Israel que habían salido de tierra de Egipto.

“Number the people who are twenty years old and older, as the Lord has told Moses.” Now these were the sons of Israel who came out of the land of Egypt.

5 R ubén, primogénito de Israel; los hijos de Rubén: de Enoc, la familia de los enoquitas; de Falú, la familia de los faluitas;

Reuben was the first-born son of Israel. Reuben’s sons were the family of the Hanochites from Hanoch, the family of the Palluites from Pallu,

6 d e Hezrón, la familia de los hezronitas; de Carmi, la familia de los carmitas.

the family of the Hezronites from Hezron, and the family of the Carmites from Carmi.

7 E stas son las familias de los rubenitas; y fueron contados de ellas cuarenta y tres mil setecientos treinta.

These are the families of the Reubenites, and their number was 43, 730.

8 L os hijos de Falú: Eliab.

Eliab was the son of Pallu.

9 Y los hijos de Eliab: Nemuel, Datán y Abiram. Estos Datán y Abiram fueron los del consejo de la congregación, que se rebelaron contra Moisés y Aarón con el grupo de Coré, cuando se rebelaron contra Jehová;

The sons of Eliab were Nemuel, Dathan and Abiram. These are Dathan and Abiram who were chosen by the people and who joined with Korah to argue against Moses and Aaron. They argued against the Lord,

10 y la tierra abrió su boca y los tragó a ellos y a Coré, cuando aquel grupo murió, cuando consumió el fuego a doscientos cincuenta varones, para servir de escarmiento.

and the earth opened its mouth and took them together with Korah, when that group died. The fire destroyed 250 men, and taught others to be careful.

11 M as los hijos de Coré no murieron.

But the sons of Korah did not die.

12 L os hijos de Simeón por sus familias: de Nemuel, la familia de los nemuelitas; de Jamín, la familia de los jaminitas; de Jaquín, la familia de los jaquinitas;

The sons of Simeon by their families were the family of the Nemuelites from Nemuel, the family of the Jaminites from Jamin, the family of the Jachinites from Jachin,

13 d e Zera, la familia de los zeraítas; de Saúl, la familia de los saulitas.

the family of the Zerahites from Zerah, and the family of the Shaulites from Shaul.

14 E stas son las familias de los simeonitas, veintidós mil doscientos.

These are the families of the Simeonites, 22, 200 people.

15 L os hijos de Gad por sus familias: de Zefón, la familia de los zefonitas; de Hagui, la familia de los haguitas; de Suni, la familia de los sunitas;

The sons of Gad by their families were the family of the Zephonites from Zephon, the family of the Haggites from Haggi, the family of the Shunites from Shuni,

the family of the Oznites from Ozni, the family of the Erites from Eri,

17 d e Arod, la familia de los aroditas; de Areli, la familia de los arelitas.

the family of the Arodites from Arod, and the family of the Arelites from Areli.

18 E stas son las familias de Gad; y fueron contados de ellas cuarenta mil quinientos.

These are the families of the sons of Gad. Their number was 40, 500.

19 L os hijos de Judá: Er y Onán; y Er y Onán murieron en la tierra de Canaán.

The sons of Judah were Er and Onan. But Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.

20 Y fueron los hijos de Judá por sus familias: de Sela, la familia de los selaítas; de Fares, la familia de los faresitas; de Zera, la familia de los zeraítas.

The sons of Judah by their families were the family of the Shelanites from Shelah, the family of the Perezites from Perez, and the family of the Zerahites from Zerah.

21 Y fueron los hijos de Fares: de Hezrón, la familia de los hezronitas; de Hamul, la familia de los hamulitas.

The sons of Perez were the family of the Hezronites from Hezron, and the family of the Hamulites from Hamul.

22 E stas son las familias de Judá, y fueron contados de ellas setenta y seis mil quinientos.

These are the families of Judah. Their number was 76, 500.

23 L os hijos de Isacar por sus familias; de Tola, la familia de los tolaítas; de Fúa, la familia de los funitas;

The sons of Issachar by their families were the family of the Tolaites from Tola, the family of the Punites from Puvah,

24 d e Jasub, la familia de los jasubitas; de Simrón, la familia de los simronitas.

the family of the Jashubites from Jashub, and the family of the Shimronites from Shimron.

25 E stas son las familias de Isacar, y fueron contados de ellas sesenta y cuatro mil trescientos.

These are the families of Issachar. Their number was 64, 300.

26 L os hijos de Zabulón por sus familias: de Sered, la familia de los sereditas; de Elón, la familia de los elonitas; de Jahleel, la familia de los jahleelitas.

The sons of Zebulun by their families were the family of the Seredites from Sered, the family of the Elonites from Elon, and the family of the Jahleelites from Jahleel.

27 E stas son las familias de los zabulonitas, y fueron contados de ellas sesenta mil quinientos.

These are the families of the Zebulunites. Their number was 60, 500.

28 L os hijos de José por sus familias: Manasés y Efraín.

The sons of Joseph by their families were Manasseh and Ephraim.

29 L os hijos de Manasés: de Maquir, la familia de los maquiritas; y Maquir engendró a Galaad; de Galaad, la familia de los galaaditas.

The sons of Manasseh were the family of the Machirites from Machir, and the family of the Gileadites from Gilead. Machir was the father of Gilead.

30 E stos son los hijos de Galaad: de Jezer, la familia de los jezeritas; de Helec, la familia de los helequitas;

The sons of Gilead were the family of the Iezerites from Iezer, the family of the Helekites from Helek,

31 d e Asriel, la familia de los asrielitas; de Siquem, la familia de los siquemitas;

the family of the Asrielites from Asriel, the family of the Shechemites from Shechem,

32 d e Semida, la familia de los semidaítas; de Hefer, la familia de los heferitas.

the family of the Shemidaites from Shemida, and the family of the Hepherites from Hepher.

33 Y Zelofehad hijo de Hefer no tuvo hijos sino hijas; y los nombres de las hijas de Zelofehad fueron Maala, Noa, Hogla, Milca y Tirsa.

Hepher’s son Zelophehad had no sons, but only daughters. The names of Zelophehad’s daughters were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah and Tirzah.

34 E stas son las familias de Manasés; y fueron contados de ellas cincuenta y dos mil setecientos.

These were the families of Manasseh. Their number was 52, 700.

35 E stos son los hijos de Efraín por sus familias: de Sutela, la familia de los sutelaítas; de Bequer, la familia de los bequeritas; de Tahán, la familia de los tahanitas.

The sons of Ephraim by their families were the family of the Shuthelaites from Shuthelah, the family of the Becherites from Becher, and the family of the Tahanites from Tahan.

36 Y estos son los hijos de Sutela: de Erán, la familia de los eranitas.

The sons of Shuthelah were the family of the Eranites from Eran.

37 E stas son las familias de los hijos de Efraín; y fueron contados de ellas treinta y dos mil quinientos. Estos son los hijos de José por sus familias.

These are the families of the sons of Ephraim. Their number was 32, 500. These are the sons of Joseph by their families.

38 L os hijos de Benjamín por sus familias: de Bela, la familia de los belaítas; de Asbel, la familia de los asbelitas; de Ahiram, la familia de los ahiramitas;

The sons of Benjamin by their families were the family of the Belaites from Bela, the family of the Ashbelites from Ashbel, the family of the Ahiramites from Ahiram,

39 d e Sufam, la familia de los sufamitas; de Hufam, la familia de los hufamitas.

the family of the Shuphamites from Shupham, and the family of the Huphamites from Hupham.

40 Y los hijos de Bela fueron Ard y Naamán: de Ard, la familia de los arditas; de Naamán, la familia de los naamitas.

The sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman, the family of the Ardites from Ard, and the family of the Naamites from Naaman.

41 E stos son los hijos de Benjamín por sus familias; y fueron contados de ellos cuarenta y cinco mil seiscientos.

These are the sons of Benjamin by their families. Their number was 45, 600.

42 E stos son los hijos de Dan por sus familias: de Súham, la familia de los suhamitas. Estas son las familias de Dan por sus familias.

The sons of Dan by their families were the family of the Shuhamites from Shuham. These are the families of Dan by their families.

43 D e las familias de los suhamitas fueron contados sesenta y cuatro mil cuatrocientos.

The number of all the families of the Shuhamites was 64, 400.

44 L os hijos de Aser por sus familias: de Imna, la familia de los imnitas; de Isúi, la familia de los isuitas; de Bería, la familia de los beriaítas.

The sons of Asher by their families were the family of the Imnites from Imnah, the family of the Ishvites from Ishvi, and the family of the Beriites from Beriah.

45 L os hijos de Bería: de Heber, la familia de los heberitas; de Malquiel, la familia de los malquielitas.

The sons of Beriah were the family of the Heberites from Heber, and the family of the Malchielites from Malchiel.

46 Y el nombre de la hija de Aser fue Sera.

The name of Asher’s daughter was Serah.

47 E stas son las familias de los hijos de Aser; y fueron contados de ellas cincuenta y tres mil cuatrocientos.

These are the families of the sons of Asher. Their number was 53, 400.

48 L os hijos de Neftalí, por sus familias: de Jahzeel, la familia de los jahzeelitas; de Guni, la familia de los gunitas;

The sons of Naphtali by their families were the family of the Jahzeelites from Jahzeel, the family of the Gunites from Guni,

49 d e Jezer, la familia de los jezeritas; de Silem, la familia de los silemitas.

the family of the Jezerites from Jezer, and the family of the Shillemites from Shillem.

50 E stas son las familias de Neftalí por sus familias; y fueron contados de ellas cuarenta y cinco mil cuatrocientos.

These are the families of Naphtali by their families. Their number was 45, 400.

51 E stos son los contados de los hijos de Israel, seiscientos un mil setecientos treinta. Orden para la repartición de la tierra

Those who were numbered of the sons of Israel were 601, 730.

52 Y habló Jehová a Moisés, diciendo:

The Lord said to Moses,

53 A éstos se repartirá la tierra en heredad, por la cuenta de los nombres.

“The land will be divided among these people by the number of names.

54 A los más darás mayor heredad, y a los menos menor; y a cada uno se le dará su heredad conforme a sus contados.

Give more land to the larger group. Give less land to the smaller group. Each family should be given land by the number of its people.

55 P ero la tierra será repartida por suerte; y por los nombres de las tribus de sus padres heredarán.

But the land should be divided by drawing names. They will receive their land by the names of the families of their fathers.

56 C onforme a la suerte será repartida su heredad entre el grande y el pequeño. Censo de la tribu de Leví

The land will be divided between the larger and smaller groups by the names that are drawn.”

57 L os contados de los levitas por sus familias son estos: de Gersón, la familia de los gersonitas; de Coat, la familia de los coatitas; de Merari, la familia de los meraritas.

Those who were numbered of the Levites by their families were the family of the Gershonites from Gershon, the family of the Kohathites from Kohath, and the family of the Merarites from Merari.

58 E stas son las familias de los levitas: la familia de los libnitas, la familia de los hebronitas, la familia de los mahlitas, la familia de los musitas, la familia de los coreítas. Y Coat engendró a Amram.

The families of Levi were the Libnites, the Hebronites, the Mahlites, the Mushites, and the Korahites. Kohath was the father of Amram.

59 L a mujer de Amram se llamó Jocabed, hija de Leví, que le nació a Leví en Egipto; ésta dio a luz de Amram a Aarón y a Moisés, y a María su hermana.

The name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi. She was born to Levi in Egypt. And she gave birth to Amram’s children, Aaron and Moses and their sister Miriam.

60 Y a Aarón le nacieron Nadab, Abiú, Eleazar e Itamar.

Aaron was the father of Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

61 P ero Nadab y Abiú murieron cuando ofrecieron fuego extraño delante de Jehová.

But Nadab and Abihu died when they burned fire that was not holy before the Lord.

62 D e los levitas fueron contados veintitrés mil, todos varones de un mes arriba; porque no fueron contados entre los hijos de Israel, por cuanto no les había de ser dada heredad entre los hijos de Israel. Caleb y Josué sobreviven

The number of all of their males a month old and older was 23, 000. For they were not numbered among the people of Israel, because no land was given to them among the people of Israel.

63 E stos son los contados por Moisés y el sacerdote Eleazar, los cuales contaron los hijos de Israel en los campos de Moab, junto al Jordán frente a Jericó.

These are the people who were numbered by Moses and Eleazar the religious leader. They numbered the sons of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.

64 Y entre éstos ninguno hubo de los contados por Moisés y el sacerdote Aarón, quienes contaron a los hijos de Israel en el desierto de Sinaí.

But among all these was not one of those numbered by Moses and Aaron the religious leader when the people of Israel were numbered in the Desert of Sinai.

65 P orque Jehová había dicho de ellos: Morirán en el desierto; y no quedó varón de ellos, sino Caleb hijo de Jefone y Josué hijo de Nun.

For the Lord had said of them, “For sure they will die in the desert.” There was not a man left of them, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
