1 E n aquel tiempo se levantará Miguel, el gran príncipe que está de parte de los hijos de tu pueblo; y será tiempo de angustia, cual nunca fue desde que hubo gente hasta entonces; pero en aquel tiempo será libertado tu pueblo, todos los que se hallen escritos en el libro.

“At that time the great angel Michael, who watches over your people, will rise up. And there will be a time of trouble, the worst since there was a nation. But at that time, every one whose name is written in the Book will be taken out of the trouble.

2 Y muchos de los que duermen en el polvo de la tierra serán despertados, unos para vida eterna, y otros para verg: uenza y confusión perpetua.

Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will wake up. Some will have life that lasts forever, but others will have shame and will suffer much forever.

3 L os entendidos resplandecerán como el resplandor del firmamento; y los que enseñan la justicia a la multitud, como las estrellas a perpetua eternidad.

Those who are wise will shine like the bright heavens. And those who lead many to do what is right and good will shine like the stars forever and ever.

4 P ero tú, Daniel, cierra las palabras y sella el libro hasta el tiempo del fin. Muchos correrán de aquí para allá, y la ciencia se aumentará.

But as for you, Daniel, keep these words hidden and lock up the Book until the end of time. Many will travel here and there and knowledge will be more and more.”

5 Y yo Daniel miré, y he aquí otros dos que estaban en pie, el uno a este lado del río, y el otro al otro lado del río.

Then I, Daniel, looked and saw two others. One was standing on this side of the river, and the other was standing on that side.

6 Y dijo uno al varón vestido de lino, que estaba sobre las aguas del río: ¿Cuándo será el fin de estas maravillas?

And one said to the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long will it be until the end of these wonders?”

7 Y oí al varón vestido de lino, que estaba sobre las aguas del río, el cual alzó su diestra y su siniestra al cielo, y juró por el que vive por los siglos, que será por tiempo, tiempos, y la mitad de un tiempo. Y cuando se acabe la dispersión del poder del pueblo santo, todas estas cosas serán cumplidas.

The man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven. And I heard him promise by Him Who lives forever that it would be for a time, times, and a half a time (three and a half years). As soon as the power of the holy people is broken, all these things will be completed.

8 Y yo oí, mas no entendí. Y dije: Señor mío, ¿cuál será el fin de estas cosas?

I heard, but I did not understand. So I said, “My lord, how will it all end?”

9 E l respondió: Anda, Daniel, pues estas palabras están cerradas y selladas hasta el tiempo del fin.

And he said, “Go your way, Daniel. For these words are hidden and locked up until the end of time.

10 M uchos serán limpios, y emblanquecidos y purificados; los impíos procederán impíamente, y ninguno de los impíos entenderá, pero los entendidos comprenderán.

Many will be made pure and made white and tried, but the sinners will be very sinful. None of the sinful will understand, but those who are wise will understand.

11 Y desde el tiempo que sea quitado el continuo sacrificio hasta la abominación desoladora, habrá mil doscientos noventa días.

From the time the burnt gifts are stopped and the very sinful manmade god is set up, there will be 1, 290 days.

12 B ienaventurado el que espere, y llegue a mil trescientos treinta y cinco días.

How happy is he who waits and comes to the end of the 1, 335 days!

13 Y tú irás hasta el fin, y reposarás, y te levantarás para recibir tu heredad al fin de los días.

But go your way until the end. Then you will have rest, and will rise again to take your place at the end of time.”
