1 N ow the word of the Lord came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,

Llegó palabra de Jehová a Jehú hijo de Hanani contra Baasa diciendo:

2 “ Inasmuch as I exalted you from the dust and made you leader over My people Israel, and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam and have made My people Israel sin, provoking Me to anger with their sins,

«Yo te levanté del polvo y te puse como príncipe de mi pueblo Israel. Pero tú has andado en el camino de Jeroboam y has hecho pecar a mi pueblo Israel, provocándome a ira con tus pecados.

3 b ehold, I will consume Baasha and his house, and I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

Por eso yo barreré la posteridad de Baasa y de su casa, y voy a hacer con su casa como con la casa de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat.

4 A nyone of Baasha who dies in the city the dogs will eat, and anyone of his who dies in the field the birds of the heavens will eat.”

Al que de Baasa muera en la ciudad se lo comerán los perros; y al que muera en el campo se lo comerán las aves del cielo.»

Los demás hechos de Baasa, las cosas que hizo, y su poderío, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

6 A nd Baasha slept with his fathers and was buried in Tirzah, and Elah his son became king in his place.

Durmió Baasa con sus padres y fue sepultado en Tirsa; y reinó en su lugar su hijo Ela.

7 M oreover, the word of the Lord through the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani also came against Baasha and his household, both because of all the evil which he did in the sight of the Lord, provoking Him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam, and because he struck it.

La palabra de Jehová por boca del profeta Jehú hijo de Hanani fue contra Baasa y también contra su casa, con motivo de todo lo malo que hizo ante los ojos de Jehová, por provocarlo a ira con las obras de sus manos, que llegaron a ser como las de la casa de Jeroboam, y por haberla exterminado. Reinados de Ela y de Zimri

8 I n the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah the son of Baasha became king over Israel at Tirzah, and reigned two years.

En el año veintiséis de Asa, rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Ela hijo de Baasa sobre Israel en Tirsa, y reinó dos años.

9 H is servant Zimri, commander of half his chariots, conspired against him. Now he was at Tirzah drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was over the household at Tirzah.

Pero conspiró contra él su siervo Zimri, comandante de la mitad de los carros. Estaba Ela en Tirsa, embriagado y bebiendo en casa de Arsa, su mayordomo en Tirsa,

10 T hen Zimri went in and struck him and put him to death in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and became king in his place.

cuando llegó Zimri y lo hirió de muerte; y reinó en lugar suyo. Era el año veintisiete de Asa, rey de Judá.

11 I t came about when he became king, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he killed all the household of Baasha; he did not leave a single male, neither of his relatives nor of his friends.

Tan pronto estuvo sentado en el trono y comenzó a reinar, mató a toda la casa de Baasa, sin dejar en ella ningún hombre, ni parientes ni amigos.

12 T hus Zimri destroyed all the household of Baasha, according to the word of the Lord, which He spoke against Baasha through Jehu the prophet,

Así exterminó Zimri a toda la casa de Baasa, conforme a la palabra que Jehová había proferido contra Baasa por medio del profeta Jehú,

13 f or all the sins of Baasha and the sins of Elah his son, which they sinned and which they made Israel sin, provoking the Lord God of Israel to anger with their idols.

por todos los pecados cometidos por Baasa, los pecados de Ela, su hijo, y los que hicieron cometer a Israel, provocando con sus vanidades el enojo de Jehová, Dios de Israel.

14 N ow the rest of the acts of Elah and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

Los demás hechos de Ela, y todo lo que hizo, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

15 I n the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri reigned seven days at Tirzah. Now the people were camped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.

En el año veintisiete de Asa, rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Zimri; y reinó siete días en Tirsa. El pueblo había acampado contra Gibetón, ciudad de los filisteos.

16 T he people who were camped heard it said, “Zimri has conspired and has also struck down the king.” Therefore all Israel made Omri, the commander of the army, king over Israel that day in the camp.

Y el pueblo que estaba en el campamento oyó decir: «Zimri ha conspirado y ha dado muerte al rey.» Entonces todo Israel proclamó aquel mismo día rey de Israel, en el campo de batalla, a Omri, general del ejército.

17 T hen Omri and all Israel with him went up from Gibbethon and besieged Tirzah.

Omri subió de Gibetón junto con todo Israel y sitiaron a Tirsa.

18 W hen Zimri saw that the city was taken, he went into the citadel of the king’s house and burned the king’s house over him with fire, and died,

Al ver Zimri tomada la ciudad, se metió en el palacio de la casa real y prendió fuego a la casa consigo adentro. Así murió,

19 b ecause of his sins which he sinned, doing evil in the sight of the Lord, walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did, making Israel sin.

por los pecados que había cometido, haciendo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová y andando en los caminos de Jeroboam, y en el pecado que éste cometió al hacer pecar a Israel.

20 N ow the rest of the acts of Zimri and his conspiracy which he carried out, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

El resto de los hechos de Zimri y de su conspiración, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel? Reinado de Omri

21 T hen the people of Israel were divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; the other half followed Omri.

Entonces el pueblo de Israel se dividió en dos partes: la mitad del pueblo seguía a Tibni hijo de Ginat para hacerlo rey, y la otra mitad seguía a Omri.

22 B ut the people who followed Omri prevailed over the people who followed Tibni the son of Ginath. And Tibni died and Omri became king.

Pero el pueblo que seguía a Omri pudo más que el que seguía a Tibni hijo de Ginat. Tibni murió y Omri se convirtió en rey.

23 I n the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri became king over Israel and reigned twelve years; he reigned six years at Tirzah.

En el año treinta y uno de Asa, rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Omri sobre Israel, y reinó doce años; en Tirsa reinó seis años.

24 H e bought the hill Samaria from Shemer for two talents of silver; and he built on the hill, and named the city which he built Samaria, after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill.

Omri compró a Semer el monte de Samaria por dos talentos de plata, edificó en el monte y llamó a la ciudad que había edificado Samaria, por el nombre de Semer, que fue dueño de aquel monte.

25 O mri did evil in the sight of the Lord, and acted more wickedly than all who were before him.

Omri hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová; lo hizo peor que todos los que habían reinado antes de él,

26 F or he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat and in his sins which he made Israel sin, provoking the Lord God of Israel with their idols.

pues anduvo en todos los caminos de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, y en el pecado que aquél hizo cometer a Israel, al provocar con sus ídolos la ira de Jehová, Dios de Israel.

27 N ow the rest of the acts of Omri which he did and his might which he showed, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

Los demás hechos de Omri, todo lo que hizo, y las acciones valientes que ejecutó, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

28 S o Omri slept with his fathers and was buried in Samaria; and Ahab his son became king in his place.

Omri durmió con sus padres y fue sepultado en Samaria. En su lugar reinó Acab, su hijo. Reinado de Acab

29 N ow Ahab the son of Omri became king over Israel in the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.

Comenzó a reinar Acab hijo de Omri sobre Israel el año treinta y ocho de Asa, rey de Judá,

30 A hab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord more than all who were before him.

y reinó sobre Israel en Samaria veintidós años. Pero Acab hijo de Omri hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, más que todos los que reinaron antes de él,

31 I t came about, as though it had been a trivial thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he married Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went to serve Baal and worshiped him.

pues no le bastó andar en los pecados de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, sino que tomó por mujer a Jezabel, hija de Et-baal, rey de los sidonios, y fue, sirvió a Baal y lo adoró.

32 S o he erected an altar for Baal in the house of Baal which he built in Samaria.

Construyó además un altar a Baal en el templo que él le edificó en Samaria.

33 A hab also made the Asherah. Thus Ahab did more to provoke the Lord God of Israel than all the kings of Israel who were before him.

También hizo Acab una imagen de Asera, para provocar así la ira de Jehová, Dios de Israel, más que todos los reyes de Israel que reinaron antes de él.

34 I n his days Hiel the Bethelite built Jericho; he laid its foundations with the loss of Abiram his firstborn, and set up its gates with the loss of his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the Lord, which He spoke by Joshua the son of Nun.

En tiempos de Acab, Hiel, el de Bet-el, reedificó a Jericó. Al precio de la vida de Abiram, su primogénito, echó el cimiento, y al precio de la vida de Segub, su hijo menor, puso sus puertas, conforme a la palabra que Jehová le había anunciado por medio de Josué hijo de Nun.
