1 “ For behold, the day is coming, burning like a furnace; and all the arrogant and every evildoer will be chaff; and the day that is coming will set them ablaze,” says the Lord of hosts, “so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.”

«Ciertamente viene el día, ardiente como un horno, y serán estopa todos los soberbios y todos los que hacen maldad. Aquel día que vendrá, los abrasará, dice Jehová de los ejércitos, y no les dejará ni raíz ni rama.

2 “ But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall.

Mas para vosotros, los que teméis mi nombre, nacerá el sol de justicia y en sus alas traerá salvación. Saldréis y saltaréis como becerros de la manada.

3 Y ou will tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day which I am preparing,” says the Lord of hosts.

Pisotearéis a los malos, los cuales serán ceniza bajo las plantas de vuestros pies en el día en que yo actúe, dice Jehová de los ejércitos.

4 “ Remember the law of Moses My servant, even the statutes and ordinances which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel.

»Acordaos de la ley de Moisés, mi siervo, al cual encargué, en Horeb, ordenanzas y leyes para todo Israel.

5 “ Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the Lord.

»Yo os envío al profeta Elías antes que venga el día de Jehová, grande y terrible.

6 H e will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, so that I will not come and smite the land with a curse.”

Él hará volver el corazón de los padres hacia los hijos, y el corazón de los hijos hacia los padres, no sea que yo venga y castigue la tierra con maldición.»
