1 W hy boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? The lovingkindness of God endureth continually.

كَيفَ تَتَباهَى بِشَرِّكَ أيُّها الجَبّارُ، بَينَما يُظهِرُ اللهُ كُلَّ يَومٍ رَحمَتَهُ؟

2 T hy tongue deviseth very wickedness, Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

عَلَى الدَّوامِ تَبتَكِرُ خُطَطاً لِلدَّمارِ. وَلِسانُكَ مُؤذٍ كَشَفرَةٍ حادَّةٍ. يُفَتِّشُ عَنْ طَرِيقٍ لِلكَذِبِ وَالخِداعِ.

3 T hou lovest evil more than good, And lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah

تُفَضِّلُ الشَّرَّ عَلَى الخَيرِ، وَالكَذِبَ عَلَى الصِّدقِ. سِلاهْ

4 T hou lovest all devouring words, thou deceitful tongue.

أنتَ وَلِسانُكَ الكاذِبُ تُحِبّانِ الأذَى لِلنّاسِ.

5 G od will likewise destroy thee for ever; He will take thee up, and pluck thee out of thy tent, And root thee out of the land of the living. Selah

لِهَذا سَيُمسِكُ اللهُ بِكَ، وَيَقذِفُكَ خارِجَ خَيْمَتِكَ وَيَهْدِمُكَ! وَيَستَأصِلُكَ مِنْ أرْضِ الأحياءِ. سِلاهْ

6 T he righteous also shall see it, and fear, And shall laugh at him, saying,

سَيَرَى الأخيارُ ما حَدَثَ، فَيَهابُونَ اللهَ، وَيَضحَكُونَ عَلَى الشِّرِّيْرِ.

7 L o, this is the man that made not God his strength, But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his wickedness.

انْظُرْ إلَى الإنسانِ الَّذِي لَمْ يَجعَلِ اللهَ مَلجَأَهُ. يَتَّكِلُ عَلَى ثَرْوَتِهِ، وَإلَى الحَماقَةِ يَلجَأُ.

8 B ut as for me, I am like a green olive-tree in the house of God: I trust in the lovingkindness of God for ever and ever.

أمّا أنا فَكَشَجَرَةِ زَيتُونٍ خَضراءَ فِي ساحَةِ بَيتِ اللهِ. سَأتَّكِلُ عَلَى صِدقِ مَحَبَّةِ اللهِ إلَى الأبَدِ.

9 I will give thee thanks for ever, because thou hast done it; And I will hope in thy name, for it is good, in the presence of thy saints.

إلَى الأبَدِ سَأحمَدُكَ عَلَى ما فَعَلْتَ. وَأمامَ أتباعِكَ الأُمَناءِ سَأذكُرُ اسْمَكَ، لأنَّهُ حُلوٌ جِدَّاً!
