1 A nd the lot for the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families was unto the border of Edom, even to the wilderness of Zin southward, at the uttermost part of the south.

أمّا الأرْضُ الَّتِي أُعطِيَتْ بِالقُرْعَةِ لِعَشِيرَةِ يَهُوذا بِحَسَبِ عَشائِرِها، فَقَدِ امتَدَّتْ جَنُوباً إلَى حُدُودِ أدُومَ إلَى بَرِّيَّةِ صِينَ فِي أقصَى الجَنُوبِ.

2 A nd their south border was from the uttermost part of the Salt Sea, from the bay that looketh southward;

وَوَصَلَ حَدُّها الجَنُوبِيُّ إلَى الخَلِيجِ فِي طَرَفِ بَحْرِ المِلحِ الَّذِي يَمتَدُّ نَحْوَ الجَنُوبِ.

3 a nd it went out southward of the ascent of Akrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and went up by the south of Kadesh-barnea, and passed along by Hezron, and went up to Addar, and turned about to Karka;

وَيَمُرُّ الحَدُّ الجَنُوبِيُّ بِجَنُوبِ مَمَرِّ العَقْرَبِ، إلَى صِينَ. ثُمَّ إلَى الجَنُوبِ مِنْ قادَشَ بَرْنِيعَ وَيَدُورُ حَولَ حَصْرُونَ ثُمَّ يَصْعَدُ إلَى أدّارَ، وَيَمْتَدُّ إلَى القَرْقَعِ،

4 a nd it passed along to Azmon, and went out at the brook of Egypt; and the goings out of the border were at the sea: this shall be your south border.

ثُمَّ يَمْتَدُّ حَولَ عَصْمُونَ، ثُمَّ إلَى وادِي مِصْرَ، وَيَنْتَهِي عِندَ البَحْرِ. هَذا هوَ حَدُّهُمُ الجَنُوبِيُّ.

5 A nd the east border was the Salt Sea, even unto the end of the Jordan. And the border of the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the end of the Jordan;

وَالحَدُّ الشَّرقِيُّ هوَ بَحرُ المِلحِ حَتَّى مَصَبِّ نَهرِ الأُردُنِّ. وَالحَدُّ الشِّمالِيُّ يَمتَدُّ مِنْ خَلِيجِ البَحرِ عِندَ مَصَبِّ نَهرِ الأُردُنِّ،

6 a nd the border went up to Beth-hoglah, and passed along by the north of Beth-arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben;

وَيَصْعَدُ إلَى بَيتِ حُجلَةَ، ثُمَّ يَمْتَدُّ إلَى الشَّمالِ مِنْ بَيتِ العَرَبَةِ. ثُمَّ يَصْعَدُ إلَى حَجَرِ بُوهَنَ بْنِ رَأُوبَيْنَ.

7 a nd the border went up to Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is over against the ascent of Adummim, which is on the south side of the river; and the border passed along to the waters of En-shemesh, and the goings out thereof were at En-rogel;

ثُمَّ يَصْعَدُ الحَدُّ إلَى دَبِيرَ مِنْ وادِي عَخُورَ، ثُمَّ يَمْتَدُّ نَحوَ الشِّمالِ إلَى الجِلْجالِ مُقابِلَ مَمَرِّ أدُومِّيمَ الَّتِي تَقَعُ إلَى الجَنُوبِ مِنَ الوادِي. ثُمَّ يَمْتَدُّ الحَدُّ حَولَ عَينِ شَمسٍ، وَيَنتَهِي فِي عَينِ رُوجَلَ.

8 a nd the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the side of the Jebusite southward (the same is Jerusalem); and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the uttermost part of the vale of Rephaim northward;

ثُمَّ يَصْعَدُ الحَدُّ إلَى وادِي بْنِ هِنُّومَ جَنُوبَ مُنحَدَرِ اليَبُوسِيِّينَ، أي مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ. ثُمَّ يَصْعَدُ الحَدُّ إلَى قِمَّةِ الجَبَلِ الواقِعِ إلَى الغَرْبِ مِنْ وادِي هِنُّومَ عِندَ الطَّرَفِ الشِّمالِيِّ لِوادِي رَفائِيمَ.

9 a nd the border extended from the top of the mountain unto the fountain of the waters of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border extended to Baalah (the same is Kiriath-jearim);

ثُمَّ يَمْتَدُّ الحَدُّ مِنْ قِمَّةِ الجَبَلِ إلَى النَّبْعِ، إلَى مِياهِ نَفْتُوحَ، ثُمَّ عَبْرَ الوادِي إلَى مُدُنِ جَبَلِ عِفْرُونَ. ثُمَّ يَمْتَدُّ نَحْوَ بَعَلَةَ الَّتِي هِيَ قَرياتُ يَعارِيمَ.

10 a nd the border turned about from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim on the north (the same is Chesalon), and went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed along by Timnah;

ثُمَّ يَمْتَدُّ الحَدُّ إلَى الغَرْبِ مِنْ بَعَلَةَ إلَى جَبَلِ سَعِيرَ، ثُمَّ يَمْتَدُّ إلَى المُنحَدَرِ الشِّمالِيِّ لِجَبَلِ يَعارِيمَ، الَّذِي هوَ كَسالُونَ، ثُمَّ يَنزِلُ إلَى بَيتِ شَمسٍ، ثُمَّ يَمْتَدُّ إلَى تِمْنَةَ.

11 a nd the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward; and the border extended to Shikkeron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out at Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.

وَيَعبُرُ الحَدُّ الوادِي إلَى المُنْحَدَرِ فِي شِمالِ عِقْرُونَ. ثُمَّ يَمْتَدُّ نَحْوَ شَكْرُونَ، ثُمَّ حَولَ جَبَلِ بَعَلَةَ، ثُمَّ يَعبُرُ الوادِي إلَى يَبْنِئِيلَ. وَيَنتَهِي الحَدُّ عِندَ البَحْرِ.

12 A nd the west border was to the great sea, and the border thereof. This is the border of the children of Judah round about according to their families.

وَأمّا الحَدُّ الغَربِيُّ فَهوَ البَحرُ وَشاطِئُهُ. هَذا هوَ الحَدُّ المُحِيطُ بَقَبِيلَةِ يَهُوذا بِحَسَبِ عَشائِرِهِا.

13 A nd unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of Jehovah to Joshua, even Kiriath-arba, which Arba was the father of Anak (the same is Hebron).

وَأعطَى يَشُوعُ كالَبَ بْنَ يَفُنَّةَ حِصَّةً مِنَ الأرْضِ وَسَطَ قَبِيلَةِ يَهُوذا بِحَسَبِ أمرِ اللهِ لِيَشُوعَ، فَأعطاهُ قَرياتَ أرْبَعَ، أي حَبْرُونَ. وَأربَعُ هوَ جَدُّ عَناقَ.

14 A nd Caleb drove out thence the three sons of Anak: Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

وَطَرَدَ كالَبُ مِنْ هُناكَ أبناءَ عَناقَ الثَّلاثَةَ: شِيشايَ وَأخِيمانَ وَتَلْمايَ.

15 A nd he went up thence against the inhabitants of Debir: now the name of Debir beforetime was Kiriath-sepher.

وَصَعِدَ مِنْ هُناكَ لِيُهُاجِمَ سُكّانَ دَبِيرَ. وَكانَ اسْمُ دَبِيرَ سابِقاً قَرْياتَ سِفْرَ.

16 A nd Caleb said, He that smiteth Kiriath-sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.

فَقالَ كالَبُ: «مَنْ يُهاجِمُ قَرياتَ سِفْرَ وَيَستَولِي عَلَيها فَإنِّي سَأُعطِيهِ ابنَتِي عَكْسَةَ زَوجَةً لَهُ.»

17 A nd Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.

فَاسْتَولَى عَلَيها عُثْنِيئِيلُ بْنُ قَنازَ أخُو كالَبَ الأصْغَرَ مِنْهُ، فَأعطاهُ كالَبُ ابنَتَهُ عَكْسَةَ زَوجَةً لَهُ.

18 A nd it came to pass, when she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she alighted from off her ass; and Caleb said, What wouldest thou?

وَلَمّا جاءَتْ إلَى عُثْنِيئِيلَ، حَثَّها عَلَى أنْ تَطلَبَ حَقلاً مِنْ أبِيها. فَلَمّا نَزَلَتْ مِنَ عَلَى الحِمارِ، قالَ لَها كالَبُ: «ما الأمْرُ؟»

19 A nd she said, Give me a blessing; for that thou hast set me in the land of the South, give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs and the nether springs.

فَقالَتْ لَهُ: «أعطِنِي بَرَكَةً. قَدْ أعطَيتَنِي أرْضاً جافَّةً فِي النَّقَبِ، فَأعطِنِي بِرَكَ ماءٍ أيضاً.» فَأعطاها البِرَكَ العُلْيا وَالسُّفلَى.

20 T his is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.

هَذا هوَ مِيراثُ قَبِيلَةِ يَهُوذا بِحَسَبِ عَشائِرِهِمْ.

21 A nd the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the border of Edom in the South were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,

وَهَذِهِ هِيَ جَمِيعُ المُدُنِ الَّتِي لِعَشِيرَةِ يَهُوذا قُرْبَ حُدُودِ أدُومَ فِي الجَنُوبِ: قَبْصِئِيلُ وَعِيدَرُ وَياجُورُ

22 a nd Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,

وَقَيْنَةُ وَدِيمُونَةُ وَعَدْعَدَةُ

23 a nd Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,

وَقادَشُ وَحاصُورُ وَيِثْنانُ

24 Z iph, and Telem, and Bealoth,

وَزِيفُ وَطالَمُ وَبَعلُوتُ

25 a nd Hazor-hadattah, and Kerioth-hezron (the same is Hazor),

وَحاصُورُ وَحَدَتَّةُ وَقَرْيُوتُ وَحَصْرُونُ – الَّتِي هِيَ حاصُورُ –

26 A mam, and Shema, and Moladah,

وَأمامُ وَشَماعُ وَمُولادَةُ

27 a nd Hazar-gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth-pelet,

وَحَصَرُ جَدَّةَ وَحَشْمُونُ وَبَيتُ فالَطَ

28 a nd Hazar-shual, and Beer-sheba, and Biziothiah,

وَحَصَرُ شُوعالَ وَبِئْرُ سَبْعٍ وَبِزْيُوتِيَّةُ

29 B aalah, and Iim, and Ezem,

وَبَعَلَةُ وَعِيِّيمُ وَعاصَمُ

30 a nd Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,

وَألْتُولَدُ وَكِسِيلُ وَحُرْمَةُ

31 a nd Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah,

وَصِقلَغُ وَمَدْمَنَّةُ وَسَنْسَنَّةُ

32 a nd Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all the cities are twenty and nine, with their villages.

وَلَبَوُتُ وَشِلْحِيمُ وَعَينُ وَرِمُّونَ. وَمَجمُوعُ عَدَدِ المُدُنِ تِسْعٌ وَعِشْرُونَ مَعَ قُراها.

33 I n the lowland, Eshtaol, and Zorah, and Ashnah,

وَفِي التِّلالِ الغَربِيَّةِ: أشْتَأُولُ وَصَرْعَةُ وَأشْنَةُ

34 a nd Zanoah, and En-gannim, Tappuah, and Enam,

وَزانُوحُ وَعَينُ جِنِّيمَ وَتَفُّوحُ وَعَينامُ

35 J armuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah,

وَيَرْمُوتُ وَعَدُلّامُ وَسُوكُوهُ وَعَزِيقَةُ

36 a nd Shaaraim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages.

وَشَعْرايِمُ وَعَدِيتايِمُ وَالجُدَيرَةُ وَجُدَيرُوَتايِمُ. وَمَجْمُوعُها أربَعَ عَشْرَةَ مَدِينَةً.

37 Z enan, and Hadashah, and Migdal-gad,

وَصَنانُ وَحَداشَةُ وَمَجْدَلُ جادَ

38 a nd Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,

وَدِلْعانُ وَالمِصْفاةُ وَيَقْتِئِيلُ

39 L achish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,

وَلَخِيشُ وَبَصْقَةُ وَعَجلُونُ،

40 a nd Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Chitlish,

وَكَبُّونُ وَلَحْماسُ وَكِتلِيشُ

41 a nd Gederoth, Beth-dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages.

وَجُدَيرُوتُ وَبَيتُ داجُونَ وَنَعَمَةُ وَمَقِّيدَةُ. وَمَجمُوعُها سِتَّ عَشْرَةَ مَدِينَةً مَعَ قُراها.

42 L ibnah, and Ether, and Ashan,

وَلِبْنَةُ وَعاتَرُ وَعاشانُ.

43 a nd Iphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,

وَيَفْتاحُ وَأشْنَةُ وَنَصِيبُ،

44 a nd Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages.

وَقَعِيلَةُ وَأكْزِيبُ وَمَرِيشَةُ. وَمَجْمُوعُها تِسعُ مُدُنٍ مَعَ قُراها.

45 E kron, with its towns and its villages;

وَعَقْرُونُ وَما يُحِيطُ بِها مِنْ بَلْداتٍ وَقُرَى.

46 f rom Ekron even unto the sea, all that were by the side of Ashdod, with their villages.

وَإلَى الغَربِ مِنْ عَقْرُونَ، كُلُّ المُدُنِ القَرِيبَةِ مِنْ أشْدُودَ وَقُراها.

47 A shdod, its towns and its villages; Gaza, its towns and its villages; unto the brook of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border thereof.

وَأشْدُودُ وَما يُحِيطُ بِها مِنْ مُدُنٍ وَقُرَى. وَغَزَّةُ وَما يُحِيطُ بِها مِنْ مُدُنٍ وَقُرِى، إلَى وادِي مِصْرَ وَساحِلِ البَحْرِ.

48 A nd in the hill-country, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh,

وَفِي المَناطِقِ الجَبَلِيَّةِ: شامِيرُ وَيَتِّيرُ وَسُوكُوهُ

49 a nd Dannah, and Kiriath-sannah (the same is Debir),

وَدَنَّةُ وَقَريَةُ سَنَّةَ الَّتِي هِيَ دَبِيرُ،

50 a nd Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim,

وَعَنابُ وَأشْتِمُوهُ وَعانِيمُ

51 a nd Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages.

وَجُوشَنُ وَحُولُونُ وَجِيلُوهُ. وَمَجمُوعُها إحدَى عَشْرَةَ مَدِينَةً مَعَ قُراها.

52 A rab, and Dumah, and Eshan,

أرابُ وَدُومَةُ وَأشْعانُ

53 a nd Janim, and Beth-tappuah, and Aphekah,

وَيَنِيمُ وَبَيتُ تَفُّوحَ وَأفِيقَةُ

54 a nd Humtah, and Kiriath-arba (the same is Hebron), and Zior; nine cities with their villages.

وَحُمْطَةُ وَقَرْياتُ أرْبَعَ – الَّتِي هِيَ حَبْرُونُ – وَصِيعُورُ. وَمَجمُوعُها تِسعُ مُدُنٍ مَعَ قُراها.

55 M aon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Jutah,

وَمَعُونُ وَكَرْمَلُ وَزِيفُ وَيُوطَةُ

56 a nd Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,

وَيَزْرَعِيلُ وَيَقْدَعامُ وَزانُوحُ

57 K ain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages.

وَقايِنُ وَجِبْعَةُ وَتِمْنَةُ. وَمَجمُوعُها عَشْرُ مُدُنٍ مَعَ قُراها.

58 H alhul, Beth-zur, and Gedor,

حَلْحُولُ وَبَيتُ صُورٍ وَجَدُورُ

59 a nd Maarath, and Beth-anoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages.

وَمَعارَةُ وَبَيتُ عَنُوتَ وَألْتَقُونُ. وَمَجمُوعُها سِتُّ مُدُنٍ مَعَ قُراها.

60 K iriath-baal (the same is Kiriath-jearim), and Rabbah; two cities with their villages.

وَقَرياتُ بَعلَ الَّتِي هِيَ قَرْياتُ يَعارِيمَ وَالرَّبَّةَ. وَهُما مَدِينَتانِ مَعَ قُراهُما.

61 I n the wilderness, Beth-arabah, Middin, and Secacah,

وَفِي البَرِّيَّةِ: بَيتُ العَرَبَةِ وَمِدِّينُ وَسَكاكَةُ

62 a nd Nibshan, and the City of Salt, and En-gedi; six cities with their villages.

وَنِبْشانُ وَمَدِينَةُ المِلْحِ وَعَينُ جَدْيٍ. وَمَجمُوعُها سِتُّ مُدُنٍ مَعَ قُراها.

63 A nd as for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out: but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.

وَلَكِنَّ شَعبَ يَهُوذا لَمْ يَستَطِعْ أنْ يَطرُدَ اليَبُوسِيِّينَ السّاكِنِينَ فِي مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ. لِذا يَعِيشُ اليَبُوسِيُّونَ وَسَطَ شَعبِ يَهُوذا إلَى هَذا اليَومِ.
