1 A nd they continued three years without war between Syria and Israel.

وَفِي السَّنَواتِ الثَّلاثِ التّاليةِ سادَ سَلامٌ بَينَ إسْرائِيلَ وَأرام.

2 A nd it came to pass in the third year, that Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel.

وَفِي السَّنَةِ الثّالِثَةِ، ذَهَبَ المَلِكُ يَهُوشافاطُ لِزِيارَةِ أخآبَ، مَلِكِ إسْرائِيلَ.

3 A nd the king of Israel said unto his servants, Know ye that Ramoth-gilead is ours, and we are still, and take it not out of the hand of the king of Syria?

حِينَئِذٍ، قالَ أخآبُ لِكِبارِ مَسؤُولِيهِ: «أتَذكُرُونَ أنَّ مَلِكَ أرامَ اسْتَولَى عَلَى رامُوثَ فِي جِلعادَ مِنّا؟ فَلِماذا لَمْ نَفعَلْ شَيئاً حَتَّى الآنَ لاسْتِرجاعِها مِنْهُ؟ فَهِيَ لَنا.»

4 A nd he said unto Jehoshaphat, Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramoth-gilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as thou art, my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses.

فَسَألَ أخآبُ يَهُوشافاطَ: «هَلْ تَنضَمُّ مَعَنا فِي الحَربِ ضِدَّ الأرامِيِّينَ فِي رامُوثَ؟» فَأجابَ يَهُوشافاطُ: «نَعَمْ، سَأنضَمُّ إلَيكَ. فَأنا وَأنتَ وَشَعْبانا وَجَيشانا إخْوَةٌ.»

5 A nd Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Inquire first, I pray thee, for the word of Jehovah.

لَكِنَّ يَهُوشافاطَ قالَ لِمَلِكِ إسرائيلَ أيضاً: «لَكِنْ لِنَسْتَشِرِ اللهَ أوَّلاً.»

6 T hen the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the Lord will deliver it into the hand of the king.

فَجَمَعَ أخآبُ الأنبِياءَ. وَكانَ عَدَدُهُمْ أربَعَ مِئَةٍ. فَسَألَ أخآبُ الأنبِياءَ: «أتَنصَحُونَنِي بِأنْ أذهَبَ وَأُقاتِلَ جَيشَ أرامَ فِي رامُوثَ؟ أمْ لا؟» فَأجابَ الأنبِياءُ: «اذْهَبْ وَسَيَنصُرُكَ اللهُ.»

7 B ut Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of Jehovah besides, that we may inquire of him?

لَكِنَّ يَهُوشافاطَ سَألَ: «ألا يُوجَدُ أيُّ نَبِيٍّ آخَرَ للهِ هُنا نَسألُهُ عَنْ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ ؟»

8 A nd the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, there is yet one man by whom we may inquire of Jehovah, Micaiah the son of Imlah: but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.

فَقالَ أخآبُ لِيَهوشافاطَ: «لا يُوجَدُ إلّا نَبِيٌّ واحِدٌ بَعدُ لِنَسْألَهُ عَنْ إرادَةِ اللهِ. إنَّهُ النَّبِيُّ مِيخا بْنُ يَمْلَةَ. لَكِنِّي أُبغِضُهُ. فَحِينَ يَنقُلُ كَلامَ اللهِ ، لا يَقُولُ أبَداً شَيئاً حَسَناً عَنِّي. فَهُوَ يَقُولُ عَنِّي ما لا أُحِبُّ.» لَكِنَّ يَهُوشافاطَ قالَ لأخآبَ: «لا تَقُلْ هذا أيُّها المَلِكُ!»

9 T hen the king of Israel called an officer, and said, Fetch quickly Micaiah the son of Imlah.

فَدَعا المَلكُ أحَدَ خُدّامهِ وَقالَ لَهُ: «أسْرِعْ بِإحْضارِ مِيخا بْنِ يَملَةَ إلَى هُنا!»

10 N ow the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah were sitting each on his throne, arrayed in their robes, in an open place at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets were prophesying before them.

وَكانَ المَلِكانِ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَومِ، يَرتَدِيانِ زِيَّهُما المَلَكِيَّ وَيَجلِسانِ عَلَى عَرْشَينِ فِي قاعَةِ القَضاءِ قُرْبَ بَوّابَةِ السّامِرَةِ، وَالأنبِياءُ جَمِيعاً واقِفِينَ يَتَنَبَّأُونَ أمامَهُما.

11 A nd Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron, and said, Thus saith Jehovah, With these shalt thou push the Syrians, until they be consumed.

وَكانَ هُناكَ نَبِيٌّ اسْمُهُ صِدْقِيا بْنُ كَنعَنَةَ. فَصَنَعَ صِدْقِيّا هَذا قُرُوناً منَ حَدِيدٍ وَقالَ: «هَذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ: ‹بِهَذِهِ القُرُونِ الحَدِيدِيَّةِ، سَتَنطَحُ الأرامِيِّينَ إلَى أنْ تَقضِيَ عَلَيهِمْ تَماماً.›»

12 A nd all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramoth-gilead, and prosper; for Jehovah will deliver it into the hand of the king.

وَوافَقَ الأنبِياءُ الآخَرُونَ صِدْقِيّا عَلَى ما قالَهُ. وَقالُوا: «تَقَدَّمِ الآنَ نَحْوَ جَيشِ أرامَ فِي رامُوثَ، وَسَتَنتَصِرُ إذْ سَيَنصُرُكَ اللهُ.»

13 A nd the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake unto him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good unto the king with one mouth: let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak thou good.

وَقالَ الرَّسُولُ الَّذِي ذَهَبَ لإحضارِ مِيخا لَهُ: «اسْمَعْ. لَقَدْ رَدَّدَ كُلُّ الأنبِياءِ الكَلامَ نَفْسَهُ، إذْ قالُوا إنَّ المَلِكَ سَيَنْتَصِرُ. فَقُلْ ما قالُوهُ، وَبِهَذا تُحسِنُ القَولَ وَتَفعَلُ خَيراً.»

14 A nd Micaiah said, As Jehovah liveth, what Jehovah saith unto me, that will I speak.

فَقالَ مِيخا: «أُقسِمُ بِاللهِ الحَيِّ، لا أقُولُ إلّا ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ.»

15 A nd when he was come to the king, the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall we forbear? And he answered him, Go up and prosper; and Jehovah will deliver it into the hand of the king.

فَلَمّا جاءَ مِيخا، وَقَفَ أمامَ المَلِكِ. فَسَألَهُ المَلِكُ: «يا مِيخا بِمَ تَنصَحُنا؟ أنَذْهَبُ أنا وَالمَلِكُ يَهوشافاطُ بِجَيشَينا لِمُقاتَلَةِ جَيشِ أرامَ فِي رامُوثَ؟» فَأجابَ مِيخا ساخِراً: «نَعَمْ! اذْهَبا وَقاتِلاهُمُ الآنَ، وَسَيَنصُرُكُما اللهُ!»

16 A nd the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou speak unto me nothing but the truth in the name of Jehovah?

فَأجابَ أخآبُ: «أنتَ تَسْخَرُ مِنِّي، وَتُجِيْبُ مِنْ عِندِكَ. كَمْ مَرَّةً يَنبَغِي أنْ أسْتَحلِفَكَ أنْ لا تَقُولَ إلّا ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ!»

17 A nd he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and Jehovah said, These have no master; let them return every man to his house in peace.

فَأجابَ مِيخا: «لَقَدْ أرانِي اللهُ جَيشَ إسْرائِيلَ مُشَتَّتاً عَلَى الجِبالِ. كَخِرافٍ فَقَدَتْ راعِيَها. هَذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ: ‹لَيسَ لِهَؤُلاءِ قائِدٌ، فَلْيَرْجِعُوا بِأمانٍ إلَى بُيُوتِهِمْ.›»

18 A nd the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?

فَقالَ أخآبُ لِيَهُوشافاطَ: «أما قُلْتُ لَكَ؟ لا يَقُولُ هَذا النَّبِيُّ عَنِّي شَيئاً حَسَناً، وَإنَّما يَتَنَبَّأُ بِالسُّوءِ عَلَيَّ!»

19 A nd Micaiah said, Therefore hear thou the word of Jehovah: I saw Jehovah sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.

فَقالَ مِيخا: «فاسْمَعْ إذاً ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ! فَقَدْ رَأيتُ اللهَ جالِساً عَلَى عَرْشِهِ فِي السَّماءِ. وَرَأيتُ المَلائِكَةَ واقِفِينَ عِندَهُ، بَعضٌ عَنْ يَمِينهِ وَبَعضٌ عَنْ شمالِهِ.

20 A nd Jehovah said, Who shall entice Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? And one said on this manner; and another said on that manner.

فَقالَ اللهُ: ‹مَنْ يَخدَعُ أخآبَ، فَيُقنعَهُ بِالهُجُومِ عَلَى مَدِينَةِ رامُوثَ الَّتِي فِي جَلْعادَ لكَي يُقتَلَ هُناكَ؟› فَأخَذَ مَلاكٌ يَقُولُ ‹هَذا يَذْهَبُ.› وَملاكٌ آخَرَ يَقُولُ ‹لا بَلْ ذاكَ يَذْهَبُ.›

21 A nd there came forth a spirit, and stood before Jehovah, and said, I will entice him.

ثُمَّ جاءَ رُوحٌ وَوَقَفَ فِي حَضرَةِ اللهِ وَقالَ: ‹أنا سَأخدَعُ أخآبَ.›

22 A nd Jehovah said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt entice him, and shalt prevail also: go forth, and do so.

فَسَألَهُ اللهُ: ‹كَيفَ سَتَفْعَلُ هَذا؟› فَقالَ: ‹سَأخرُجُ وَأكُونُ رُوحَ كَذبٍ في أفواهِ أنبِياءِ أخآبَ.› فَقالَ اللهُ: ‹وَسَتَتَمَكَّنُ مِنْ خِداعِ أخآبَ. فاذْهَبْ وَافعَلْ ذَلِكَ، وَسَتَنْجَحُ.›»

23 N ow therefore, behold, Jehovah hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets; and Jehovah hath spoken evil concerning thee.

وَأضافَ مِيخا: «فَكَما تَرَى، قَدْ جَعَلَ اللهُ أنبِياءَكَ يَكذِبُونَ عَلَيكَ. فَاللهُ نَفسُهُ يَنوِي أنْ يُنزِلَ بِكَ الشَّرَّ.»

24 T hen Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and smote Micaiah on the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of Jehovah from me to speak unto thee?

ِفَاقتَرَبَ صِدْقِيا بْنُ كَنْعَنَةَ مِنْ مِيخا وَصَفَعَهُ عَلَى خَدِّهِ. وَقالَ صِدْقِيا: «مُنْذُ مَتَى يَعْبُرُ عَنِّي رُوحُ اللهِ لِيَتَكَلَّمَ إلَيكَ؟»

25 A nd Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see on that day, when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.

فَأجابَ مِيخا: «سَتَرَى أنِّي صَادِقٌ يَوْمَ تَهرُبُ مِنْ غُرفَةٍ إلَى غُرْفَةٍ لِتَختَبِئَ!»

26 A nd the king of Israel said, Take Micaiah, and carry him back unto Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son;

فَأمَرَ أخآبُ أحَدَ رِجالِهِ بِالقَبضِ عَلَى مِيخا، وَقالَ: «اقبِضْ عَلَيهِ وسلِّمْهُ إلَى آمُونَ، والِي المَدِينَةِ، وَإلَى الأمِيرِ يُوآشَ.

27 a nd say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I come in peace.

وَقُولُوا لأمُّونَ: ‹هَذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ المَلِكُ: ضَعْ مِيخا فِي السِّجنِ. وَلا تُعْطِهِ إلّا قَليلاً جِدّاً منَ الماءِ، إلَى أنْ أعُودَ مِنَ المَعرَكَةِ سالِماً.›»

28 A nd Micaiah said, If thou return at all in peace, Jehovah hath not spoken by me. And he said, Hear, ye peoples, all of you.

فَأجابَ ميخا أخآبَ: «إنْ رَجِعْتَ مِنَ المَعْرَكَة سالماً، لا يَكُونُ اللهُ قَدْ تَكَلَّمَ بِفَمي. فاسمَعُوا وَتَذَكَّرُوا كَلاميَ يا كُلَّ الشَّعبِ.» معرَكَةُ رامُوثَ جِلْعاد

29 S o the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth-gilead.

وَذَهَبَ أخآبُ وَالمَلِكُ يَهُوشافاطُ لِمُقاتَلَةِ جَيشِ أرامَ فِي رامُوثَ الَّتِي فِي جَلْعادَ.

30 A nd the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and go into the battle; but put thou on thy robes. And the king of Israel disguised himself, and went into the battle.

فَقالَ مَلِكُ إسرائِيلَ لِيَهُوشافاطَ: «سَأدخُلُ الحَرْبَ مُتَنَكِّراً. أمّا أنتَ فَالبِسْ زِيَّكَ المَلَكيَّ.» وَهَكَذا دَخَلَ مَلِكُ إسْرائِيلَ المَعرَكَةَ مُتَنَكِّراً.

31 N ow the king of Syria had commanded the thirty and two captains of his chariots, saying, Fight neither with small nor great, save only with the king of Israel.

وَكانَتْ لِمَلِكِ أرامَ اثنَتانِ وَثَلاثُونَ مَركَبَةً. فَأمَرَ المَلِكُ قادَةَ مَركَباتِهِ وَقالَ: «لا تَنشَغِلُوا بِقِتالِ أحَدٍ مَهما كانَ شأنُهُ، سِوَى مَلِكِ اسرائِيلَ»

32 A nd it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, Surely it is the king of Israel; and they turned aside to fight against him: and Jehoshaphat cried out.

وَأثناءَ المَعرَكَةِ رَأى قادَةُ المَركَباتِ يَهُوشافاطَ، ظَنُّوا أنَّهُ أخآبَ. فَهَجَمُوا عَلَيهِ لِيَقتُلُوهُ. فَصَرَخَ يَهُوشافاطُ.

33 A nd it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.

فَلَمّا أدرَكُوا أنَّهُ لَيسَ أخآبَ، مَلِكَ إسْرائِيلَ، كَفُّوا عَنْ مُطارَدَتِهِ، وَلَمْ يَقتُلُوهُ.

34 A nd a certain man drew his bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the armor: wherefore he said unto the driver of his chariot, Turn thy hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am sore wounded.

لَكِنَّ جُندِيّاً رَمَى سَهماً بِالصُّدفةِ، فَأصابَ أخآبَ، مَلِكَ إسْرائِيلَ، إذْ دَخَلَ مِنْ فُتْحَةٍ فِي الدِّرْعِ. فَقالَ أخآبُ لِسائِقِ مَركَبَتِهِ: «لَقَدْ أُصِبْتُ بِسَهمٍ. فارجِعْ إلَى الخَلفِ وَانسَحِبْ بِي مِنَ المَعرَكَةِ.»

35 A nd the battle increased that day: and the king was stayed up in his chariot against the Syrians, and died at even; and the blood ran out of the wound into the bottom of the chariot.

وَاشْتَدَّ القِتالُ بَينَ الجَيْشَينِ. وَبَقِيَ أخآبُ فِي مَركَبَتِهِ مُستَنِداً عَلَى جَوانِبِها مُقابِلَ جَيشِ أرامَ. وَسالَ دَمُهُ حَتَّى غَطَّى أرْضِيَةَ المَركَبَةِ. وَفِي فَتْرَةٍ لاحِقَةٍ مِنْ مَساءِ ذَلِكَ اليَومِ، ماتَ أخآبُ.

36 A nd there went a cry throughout the host about the going down of the sun, saying, Every man to his city, and every man to his country.

وَنَحوَ غُرُوبِ الشَّمْسِ، أُمِرَ جَمِيعُ جُنُودِ جَيشِ إسْرائِيلَ بِالانسِحابِ وَالرُّجُوعِ كُلُّ واحِدٍ إلَى مَدِينَتِهِ وَأرْضِهِ.

37 S o the king died, and was brought to Samaria; and they buried the king in Samaria.

وَهَكَذا ماتَ أخآبُ. فَحَمَلَهُ بَعضُ الرِّجالِ إلَى السّامِرَةِ حَيْثُ دُفِنَ.

38 A nd they washed the chariot by the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood (now the harlots washed themselves there); according unto the word of Jehovah which he spake.

وَغُسِلَتْ مَرْكَبَةُ أخآبَ قُرْبَ بِرْكَةٍ فِي السّامِرَةِ تَسْتَحِمُّ بِها العاهِراتُ. فَلَحَسَتِ الكِلابُ دَمَهُ، تَحقِيقاً لِما سَبَقَ أنْ قالَهُ اللهُ.

39 N ow the rest of the acts of Ahab, and all that he did, and the ivory house which he built, and all the cities that he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

أمّا بَقِيَّةُ أعْمالِ أخآبَ، بَيتِهِ العاجِيِّ، وَالْمُدُنِ الَّتِي بَناها، فَهِيَ مُدَوَّنَةٌ فِي كِتابِ تارِيخِ مُلُوكِ إسْرائِيلَ.

40 S o Ahab slept with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.

وَماتَ أخآبُ وَدُفِنَ مَعَ آبائِهِ. فَخَلَفَهُ فِي الحُكمِ ابْنُهُ أخَزْيا. يَهُوشافاطُ مَلِكُ يَهُوذا

41 A nd Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel.

فِي السَّنَةِ الرّابِعَةِ مِنْ حُكمِ أخآبَ مَلِكِ إسْرائِيلَ، اعتَلَى يَهُوشافاطُ بْنُ آسا عَرْشَ يَهُوذا.

42 J ehoshaphat was thirty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.

وَكانَ يَهُوشافاطُ فِي الخامِسَةِ وَالثَّلاثِينَ مِنْ عُمْرِهِ عِندَما استَلَمَ مَقالِيدَ الحُكمِ. وَحَكَمَ فِي القُدسِ خَمساً وَعِشْرِينَ سَنَةً. وَكانَ اسْمُ أُمِّهِ عَزُوبَةَ، وَهِيَ بِنْتُ شِلْحِي.

43 A nd he walked in all the way of Asa his father; He turned not aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah: howbeit the high places were not taken away; the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

وَسارَ يَهُوشافاطُ عَلَى النَّهجِ الصّالِحِ الَّذِي سارَ عَلَيهِ أبُوهُ آسا. فَعَمِلَ ما يُرضِي اللهَ فِي كُلِّ شَيءٍ، إلّا أنَّهُ لَمْ يَهدِمِ المُرتَفَعاتِ. فَظَلَّ الشَّعبُ يُقَدِّمُ ذَبائِحَ وَيُحرِقُ بَخُوراً هُناكَ.

44 A nd Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel.

وَعَقَدَ يَهُوشافاطُ اتِّفاقِيَّةَ سَلامٍ مَعَ مَلِكِ إسْرائِيلَ.

45 N ow the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, and his might that he showed, and how he warred, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

أمّا بَقِيَّةُ أعْمالِ يَهُوشافاطَ، جَبَرُوتِهِ الَّذِي أظْهَرَهُ، وَحُرُوبِهِ الَّتِي خاضَها، فَهِيَ مُدَوَّنَةٌ فِي كِتابِ تارِيخِ مُلُوكِ يَهُوذا.

46 A nd the remnant of the sodomites, that remained in the days of his father Asa, he put away out of the land.

وَنَفَى يَهُوشافاطُ كُلَّ الرِّجالِ الَّذِينَ كانُوا يَبِيعُونَ أجسادَهُمْ فِي عِبادَةِ آلِهَتِهِمْ. وَكانَ هَؤُلاءِ يُمارِسُونَ عِباداتِهِمْ فِي المُرتَفَعاتِ أثناءَ حُكمِ أبِيهِ آسا.

47 A nd there was no king in Edom: a deputy was king.

وَلَمْ يَكُنْ فِي أرْضِ أدُومَ مَلِكٌ. فَعَيَّنَ مَلِكُ يَهُوذا والِياً هُناكَ. أُسطُولُ يَهُوشافاط

48 J ehoshaphat made ships of Tarshish to go to Ophir for gold: but they went not; for the ships were broken at Ezion-geber.

وَبَنَى المَلِكُ يَهُوشافاطُ سُفُنَ شَحْنٍ لِيُرْسِلَها إلَى مَدينَةِ أُوفِيرَ لاستِيرادِ الذَّهَبِ. لَكِنَّها لَمْ تَتَحَرَّكْ، بَلْ دُمِّرَتْ فِي مَرفَإ عِصْيُونِ جابِرَ.

49 T hen said Ahaziah the son of Ahab unto Jehoshaphat, Let my servants go with thy servants in the ships. But Jehoshaphat would not.

وَكانَ أخَزْيا بْنُ أخآبَ قَدْ قالَ لِيَهُوشافاطَ: «سَأُرسِلُ بَعضَ خُدّامِي مَعَ خُدّامِكَ فِي السُّفُنِ.» غَيرَ أنَّ يَهُوشافاطَ رَفَضَ ذَلِكَ.

50 A nd Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father; And Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.

وَماتَ يَهُوشافاطُ وَدُفِنَ مَعَ آبائِهِ فِي مَدِينَةِ داوُدَ. فَخَلَفَهُ فِي الحُكمِ ابْنُهُ يَهُورامُ. أخَزْيا مَلِكُ إسْرائِيل

51 A haziah the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria in the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and he reigned two years over Israel.

وَاعتَلَى أخَزْيا بْنُ أخآبَ عَرْشَ إسْرائِيلَ فِي السَّنَةِ السّابِعَةَ عَشْرَةَ مِنْ حُكمِ يَهُوشافاطَ لِيَهُوذا. وَحَكَمَ أخَزْيا فِي السّامِرَةِ مُدَّةَ سَنَتَينِ.

52 A nd he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, wherein he made Israel to sin.

وَفَعَلَ أخَزْيا الشَّرَّ أمامَ اللهِ. فَسارَ عَلَى نَهجِ أبِيهِ أخآبَ، وَأُمِّهِ إيزابَلَ، فَجَعَلَ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ يُخطِئُونَ، كَما فَعَلَ يَرُبْعامُ بْنُ ناباطَ مِنْ قَبلُ.

53 A nd he served Baal, and worshipped him, and provoked to anger Jehovah, the God of Israel, according to all that his father had done.

وَعَبَدَ أخَزْيا البَعلَ وَخَدَمَهُ. فَعَلَ هَذا عَلَى غِرارِ أبِيهِ. فَأغضَبَ اللهَ ، إلَهَ إسْرائِيلَ، غَضَباً شَدِيداً.
