1 A nswer me when I call, O God of my righteousness; Thou hast set me at large when I was in distress: Have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.

أجِبْنِي يا إلَهِيَ الصّالِحَ عِندَما أدعُوكَ. فِي الضِّيقِ أعطِنِي فُسْحَةً وَراحَةً! ارحَمْنِي وَاسْمَعْ صَلاتِي.

2 O ye sons of men, how long shall my glory be turned into dishonor? How long will ye love vanity, and seek after falsehood? Selah

حَتَّى مَتَى أيُّها النّاسُ تُحَوِّلُونَ كَرامَتِي عاراً؟ تَعشَقُونَ الأقاوِيلَ الفارِغَةَ، وَتُفَتِّشُونَ عَنْ أكاذِيبَ ضِدِّي. سِلاهْ

3 B ut know that Jehovah hath set apart for himself him that is godly: Jehovah will hear when I call unto him.

فَاعلَمُوا أنَّ اللهَ يُصْغِي إلَى تابِعِهِ الأمِينِ! اللهُ يَسمَعُنِي عِندَما أدعُوهُ!

4 S tand in awe, and sin not: Commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah

لا تَجعَلُوا غَضَبَكُمْ يَجُرَّكُمْ إلَى الخَطِيَّةِ. تَفَكَّرُوا فِي ما حَدَثَ بِصَمتٍ عَلَى فِراشِكُمْ. سِلاهْ

5 O ffer the sacrifices of righteousness, And put your trust in Jehovah.

قَدِّمُوا الذَّبائِحَ اللّائِقَةَ، وَاتَّكِلُوا عَلَى اللهِ!

6 M any there are that say, Who will show us any good? Jehovah, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

كَثِيرُونَ يَقُولُونَ: «مَنْ يُرِينا خَيراً؟» ارفَعْ عَلَينا نُورَ وَجهِكَ يا اللهُ.

7 T hou hast put gladness in my heart, More than they have when their grain and their new wine are increased.

وَضَعْتَ فِي قَلْبِي سَعادَةً أعظَمَ مِنَ الفَرَحِ بِأغنَى مَواسِمِ حَصادِ القَمْحِ وَالنَّبِيذِ.

8 I n peace will I both lay me down and sleep; For thou, Jehovah, alone makest me dwell in safety.

فِي سَلامٍ كامِلٍ أستَلْقِي وَأنامُ. لِأنَّكَ وَحدَكَ يا اللهُ تَجعَلُنِي أستَلقِي فِي أمانٍ!
