1 N ow these are the generations of Aaron and Moses in the day that Jehovah spake with Moses in mount Sinai.

وَهَذِهِ هِيَ عائِلَةُ هارُونَ وَمُوسَى حِينَ كَلَّمَ اللهُ مُوسَى عَلَى جَبَلِ سِيناءَ.

2 A nd these are the names of the sons of Aaron: Nadab the first-born, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

وَهَذِهِ هِيَ أسْماءُ أبناءِ هارُونَ: نادابُ الابنُ البِكرُ، ثُمَّ أبِيهُو وَألِيعازارُ وَإيثامارُ.

3 T hese are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests that were anointed, whom he consecrated to minister in the priest's office.

هَذِهِ هِيَ أسْماءُ أبناءِ هارُونَ الَّذِينَ مُسِحُوا كَكَهَنَةٍ. وَقَدْ تَمَّ تَعيِينُهُمْ لِيَخدِمُوا كَكَهَنَةٍ.

4 A nd Nadab and Abihu died before Jehovah, when they offered strange fire before Jehovah, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children; and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest's office in the presence of Aaron their father.

وَلَكِنَّ نادابَ وَأبِيهُو ماتا بَينَما كانا يَخدِمانِ اللهَ حِينَ قَدَّما ناراً مِنْ مَصدَرٍ غَرِيبٍ فِي حَضْرَةِ اللهِ فِي بَرِّيَّةِ سِيناءَ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُما أبناءٌ. فَخَدَمَ ألِيعازارُ وَإيثامارُ كَكاهِنَينِ بَينَما كانَ هارُونُ حَيّاً. اللّاوِيُّونَ مُساعِدُو الكَهَنَة

5 A nd Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

وَكَلَّمَ اللهُ مُوسَى فَقالَ:

6 B ring the tribe of Levi near, and set them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him.

«قَدِّمْ قَبِيلَةَ لاوِي لِهارُونَ الكاهِنِ كَي يُساعِدُوهُ.

7 A nd they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tent of meeting, to do the service of the tabernacle.

فَلْيَخْدِمُوهُ وَيَخدِمُوا كُلَّ الجَماعَةِ أمامَ خَيمَةِ الاجْتِماعِ، وَيَقُومُوا بِالأعمالِ الصَّعبَةِ فِي المَسْكَنِ المُقَدَّسِ.

8 A nd they shall keep all the furniture of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.

يَحرُسُونَ جَمِيعَ أدَواتِ خَيمَةِ الاجْتِماعِ. يَمَثِّلُونَ بِذَلِكَ جَمِيعَ بَني إسْرائِيلَ. وَيَخْدِمُونَ فِي المَسْكَنِ.

9 A nd thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons: they are wholly given unto him on the behalf of the children of Israel.

«عَيِّنِ اللّاوِيِّينَ لِمُساعَدَةِ هارُونَ وَأبْنائِهِ. يَكُونُونَ مُكَرَّسينَ بِالكامِلِ لِهارُونَ مِنْ بَينِ بَني إسْرائِيلَ.

10 A nd thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall keep their priesthood: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

«عَيِّنْ هارُونَ وَأبناءَهُ لِيَقُومُوا بِواجِباتِ الكَهَنُوتِ. كُلُّ مَنْ يَتَطَفَّلُ لِلقِيامِ بِعَمَلِ الكَهنُوتِ يُقْتَلُ.»

11 A nd Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

ثُمَّ قالَ اللهُ لِمُوسَى:

12 A nd I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of all the first-born that openeth the womb among the children of Israel; and the Levites shall be mine:

«ها قَدْ أخَذْتُ اللّاوِيِّينَ مِنْ بَينِ بَني إسْرائِيلَ. بَدَلَ كُلِّ الأولادِ الأبْكارِ فِي بَني إسْرائِيلَ، فَسَيَكُونُ الَّلاوِيُّونَ لِي.

13 f or all the first-born are mine; on the day that I smote all the first-born in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto me all the first-born in Israel, both man and beast; mine they shall be: I am Jehovah.

جَمِيعُ الأبْكارِ مِنَ النّاسِ وَالحَيواناتِ لِي. فَحِينَ قَتَلْتُ الأبْكارَ فِي أرْضِ مِصرَ، خَصَّصْتُ لِنَفسِي جَمِيعَ الأبكارِ فِي إسْرائِيلَ، مِنَ النّاسِ وَالحَيواناتِ. هُمْ لِي، أنا اللهَ.»

14 A nd Jehovah spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying,

ثُمَّ قالَ اللهُ لِمُوسَى فِي بَرِّيَّةِ سِيناءَ:

15 N umber the children of Levi by their fathers' houses, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them.

«أحصِ اللّاوِيِّينَ بِحَسَبِ عائِلاتِهِمْ وَعَشائِرِهِمْ. أحْصِ جَمِيعَ الذُّكُورِ البالِغِينَ شَهراً أوْ أكثَرَ.»

16 A nd Moses numbered them according to the word of Jehovah, as he was commanded.

فَأحْصاهُمْ مُوسَى وَفْقاً لِكَلِمَةِ اللهِ.

17 A nd these were the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari.

وَهَذِهِ هِيَ أسْماءُ أبناءِ لاوِي: جَرْشُونُ وَقَهاتُ وَمَرارِي.

18 A nd these are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families: Libni and Shimei.

وَهَذانِ اسْما عَشِيرَتَي جَرْشُونَ: لِبْنِي وَشِمْعِي.

19 A nd the sons of Kohath by their families: Amram, and Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

وَأمّا عَشائِرُ قَهاتَ فَهِيَ عَمْرامُ وَيِصْهارُ وَحَبْرُونُ وَعُزِّيئِيلُ.

20 A nd the sons of Merari by their families: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their fathers' houses.

وَأمّا عَشِيرَتا مَرارِي فَكانَتا: مَحلِي وَمُوشِي. هَذِهِ هِيَ عَشائِرُ اللّاوِيِّينَ بِحَسَبِ عائِلاتِهِمْ.

21 O f Gershon was the family of the Libnites, and the family of the Shimeites: these are the families of the Gershonites.

عَشِيرَتا جَرشُونَ هُما لِبْنِي وَشِمْعِي. هاتانِ هُما عَشِيرَتا الجَرشُونِيِّينَ.

22 T hose that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, even those that were numbered of them were seven thousand and five hundred.

وَعَدَدُ جَميعِ ذُكُورِهِمُ البالِغِينَ شَهراً فَأكثَرَ هُوَ سَبعَةُ آلافٍ وَخَمسُ مِئَةٍ.

23 T he families of the Gershonites shall encamp behind the tabernacle westward.

كانَتْ عَشيرَتا الجَرشُونِيِّينَ تُخَيِّمانِ خَلفَ المَسْكَنِ إلَى الجِهَةِ الغَربِيَّةِ.

24 A nd the prince of the fathers' house of the Gershonites shall be Eliasaph the son of Lael.

وَرَئِيسُ عَشِيرَتا الجَرشُونِيِّينَ هُوَ ألِياسافُ بْنُ لايِلَ.

25 A nd the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tent of meeting shall be the tabernacle, and the Tent, the covering thereof, and the screen for the door of the tent of meeting,

أمَّا مَسؤولِيَّةُ الجَرشُونِيِّينَ فِي خَيمَةِ الاجْتِماعِ فَهِيَ المَسْكَنُ: الخَيمَةُ وَغِطاؤُها وَسِتارَةُ مَدخَلِ خَيمَةِ الاجْتِماعِ،

26 a nd the hangings of the court, and the screen for the door of the court, which is by the tabernacle, and by the altar round about, and the cords of it for all the service thereof.

وَسَتائِرُ السّاحَةِ وَسِتارَةُ مَدْخَلِ السّاحَةِ الَّتِي حَولَ المَسْكَنِ وَالمَذبَحِ وَالحِبالِ، مَعَ كُلِّ الأعمالِ المُختَصَّةِ بِحَملِ الخَيمَةِ المُقَدَّسَةِ وَنَقلِها.

27 A nd of Kohath was the family of the Amramites, and the family of the Izharites, and the family of the Hebronites, and the family of the Uzzielites: these are the families of the Kohathites.

وَعَشائِرُ قَهاتَ هِيَ عَمْرامُ وَيِصْهارُ وَحَبْرُونُ وَعُزِّيئِيلُ. هَذِهِ هِيَ عَشائِرُ القَهاتِيِّينَ.

28 A ccording to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, there were eight thousand and six hundred, keeping the charge of the sanctuary.

وَكانَ عَدَدُ جَمِيعِ ذُكُورِهِمُ البالِغِينَ شَهراً فَأكثَرَ ثَمانِيَةَ آلافٍ وَثَلاثَ مِئَةٍ. وَكانُوا يَقُومُونَ بِواجِباتِهِمْ فِي المَكانِ المُقَدَّسِ.

29 T he families of the sons of Kohath shall encamp on the side of the tabernacle southward.

وَكانَتْ عَشائِرُ القَهاتِيِّينَ تُخَيِّمُ فِي الجِهَةِ الجَنُوبِيَّةِ مِنَ المَسْكَنِ المُقَدَّسِ.

30 A nd the prince of the fathers' house of the families of the Kohathites shall be Elizaphan the son of Uzziel.

وَرَئِيسُ عَشِيرَةِ القَهاتِيِّينَ هُوَ ألِيصافانُ بْنُ عُزِّيئِيلَ.

31 A nd their charge shall be the ark, and the table, and the candlestick, and the altars, and the vessels of the sanctuary wherewith they minister, and the screen, and all the service thereof.

وَكانَتْ مَسْؤُوليّةُ القَهاتِيِّينَ هِيَ الصُّندُوقُ المُقَدَّسُ وَالمائِدَةُ وَالمَنارَةُ وَالمَذبَحَ وَمَذْبَحَ البَخُورِ وَآنِيَةِ المَكانِ المُقَدَّسِ الَّتِي يَسْتَخْدِمُها الكَهَنَةُ، وَالسِتارَةُ، وَجَمِيعُ الأدَواتِ المُتَعَلِّقَةِ بِالخِدْمَةِ.

32 A nd Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest shall be prince of the princes of the Levites, and have the oversight of them that keep the charge of the sanctuary.

أمّا رَئِيسُ رُؤَساءِ اللّاوِيِّينَ، فَهُوَ ألِيعازارُ بْنُ هارُونَ الكاهِنِ. وَقَدْ كانَ مَسؤُولاً عَنْ القائِمينَ بِواجِباتِ المَكانِ المُقَدَّسِ.

33 O f Merari was the family of the Mahlites, and the family of the Mushites: these are the families of Merari.

وَعَشِيرَتا مَرارِي هُما مَحلِي وَمُوشِي. هاتانِ هُما عَشِيرَتا مَرارِي.

34 A nd those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were six thousand and two hundred.

وَكانَ عَدَدُ جَمِيعِ ذُكُورِهِمُ البالِغِينَ شَهراً فَأكثَرَ سِتَّةَ آلافٍ وَمِئَتَينِ.

35 A nd the prince of the fathers' house of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail: they shall encamp on the side of the tabernacle northward.

وَرَئِيسُ عَشِيرَةِ المَرارِيِّينَ هُوَ صُورِئِيلُ بْنُ أبِيحايِلَ. وَكانُوا يُخَيِّمُونَ فِي الجِهَةِ الشَّمالِيَّةِ مِنَ المَسْكَنِ المُقَدَّسِ.

36 A nd the appointed charge of the sons of Merari shall be the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and the sockets thereof, and all the instruments thereof, and all the service thereof,

وَكانَ المَرارِيُّونَ مَسؤُولُونَ عَنْ حِراسَةِ ألواحِ المَسْكَنِ وَعَوارِضِهِ وَأعمِدَتِهِ وَقَواعِدِها، وَكُلِّ أدَواتِهِ وَالخِدْماتِ المُتَعَلِّقَةِ بِها.

37 a nd the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords.

كَما كُانُوا مَسؤُولِينَ عَنْ أعمِدَةِ السّاحَةِ المُحِيطَةِ بِالخَيمَةِ المُقَدَّسَةِ وَقَواعِدِها وَأوتادِها وَحِبالِها.

38 A nd those that encamp before the tabernacle eastward, before the tent of meeting toward the sunrising, shall be Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

وَكانَ مُوسَى وَهارُونُ وَأولادُ هارُونَ هُمُ الَّذِينَ يُخَيِّمُونَ أمامَ المَسْكَنِ فِي الجِهَةِ الشَّرقِيَّةِ، أمامَ خَيمَةِ الاجْتِماعِ بِاتِّجاهِ مَشرِقِ الشَّمسِ. كانُوا هُمُ المُشْرِفُونَ عَلَى جَمِيعِ الطُّقُوسِ الَّتِي تُقامُ داخِلَ المَكانِ المُقَدَّسِ، وَعَنْ جَمِيعِ المَسائِلِ المُتَعَلِّقَةِ بِبَنِي إسْرائيلَ. وَكُلُّ دَخيلٍ يَقْتَرِبُ مِنْ أرْضِهِمْ، كانَ يُقْتَلُ.

39 A ll that were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron numbered at the commandment of Jehovah, by their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty and two thousand.

فَكَانَ عَدَدُ اللّاوِيِّينَ الَّذِينَ أحصاهُمْ مُوسَى وَهارُونُ بِحَسَبِ أمرِ اللهِ بِحَسَبِ عَشائِرِهِمْ، اثْنَينِ وَعِشرِينَ ألفاً مِنَ الذُّكُورِ البالِغِينَ شَهراً فَأكثَرَ. اللّاوِيُّونَ بَدَلَ كُلِّ بِكْر

40 A nd Jehovah said unto Moses, Number all the first-born males of the children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.

وَقالَ اللهُ لِمُوسَى: «أحصِ كُلَّ الأبْكارِ الذُّكُورِ فِي بَني إسْرائِيلَ الَّذِينَ يَبلُغُونَ شَهراً فَأكثَرَ، وَاكتُبْ قائِمَةً بِأسمائِهِمْ.

41 A nd thou shalt take the Levites for me (I am Jehovah) instead of all the first-born among the children of Israel; and the cattle of the Levites instead of all the firstlings among the cattle of the children of Israel:

وَخُذِ اللّاوِيِّينَ لِي، أنا اللهُ ، بَدَلَ كُلِّ الأبْكارِ فِي بَني إسْرائِيلَ. وَخُذْ حَيواناتِ اللّاوِيِّينَ بَدَلَ كُلِّ أبْكارِ حَيواناتِ بَني إسْرائِيلَ.»

42 a nd Moses numbered, as Jehovah commanded him, all the first-born among the children of Israel.

فَأحصَى مُوسَى كُلَّ الأبْكارِ فِي بَني إسْرائِيلَ، كَما أمَرَهُ اللهُ.

43 A nd all the first-born males according to the number of names, from a month old and upward, of those that were numbered of them, were twenty and two thousand two hundred and threescore and thirteen.

وَكانَ عَدَدُ الأبْكارِ الذُّكُورِ، مُدَوَّنِينَ بِأسمائِهِمْ، مِمَّنْ يَبلُغُونَ شَهراً فَأكثَرَ، اثْنَينِ وَعِشرِينَ ألفاً وَمِئَتَينِ وَثَلاثاً وَسَبعِينَ.

44 A nd Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

وَكَلَّمَ اللهُ مُوسَى فَقالَ:

45 T ake the Levites instead of all the first-born among the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be mine: I am Jehovah.

«خُذِ اللّاوِيِّينَ بَدَلَ كُلِّ صَبِيٍّ بِكْرٍ فِي بَني إسْرائِيلَ، وَخُذْ حَيواناتِ اللّاوِيِّينَ بَدَلَ كُلِّ أبْكارِ حَيواناتِ إسْرائِيلَ. اللّاوِيُّونَ لِي، أنا اللهَ.

46 A nd for the redemption of the two hundred and threescore and thirteen of the first-born of the children of Israel, that are over and above the number of the Levites,

وَلِفِداءِ المِئَتَينِ وَالثَّلاثَ وَالسَّبعِينَ بِكراً فِي بَني إسْرائِيلَ الَّذِينَ زادُوا عَنْ عَدَدِ اللّاوِيِّينَ،

47 t hou shalt take five shekels apiece by the poll; after the shekel of the sanctuary shalt thou take them (the shekel is twenty gerahs):

خُذْ خَمسَةَ مَثَاقيلَ مِنَ الفِضَّةِ لِكُلِّ واحِدٍ مِنهُمْ. وَتَكُونَ الفِدْيَةُ بِحَسَبِ الوَزنِ الرَّسمِيِّ لِلمِثْقالِ: المِثْقالُ بِعِشرِينَ قِيراطاً.

48 a nd thou shalt give the money, wherewith the odd number of them is redeemed, unto Aaron and to his sons.

وَأعْطِ المالَ لِهارُونَ وَبَنِيهِ لِفِداءِ المِئَتَينِ وَالثَّلاثَ وَالسَّبعِينَ.»

49 A nd Moses took the redemption-money from them that were over and above them that were redeemed by the Levites;

فَأخَذَ مُوسَى المالَ لِفِداءِ الَّذِينَ زادَ عَدَدُهُمْ عَنْ عَدَدِ اللّاوِيِّينَ.

50 f rom the first-born of the children of Israel took he the money, a thousand three hundred and threescore and five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary:

أخَذَ مُوسَى المالَ مِنْ أبْكارِ بَني إسْرائِيلَ. فَكانَ ألْفاً وَثَلاثَ مِئَةٍ وَخَمْسَةٍ وَسِتِّينَ مِثْقالاً بِحَسَبِ الوَزنِ الرَّسمِيِّ.

51 a nd Moses gave the redemption-money unto Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of Jehovah, as Jehovah commanded Moses.

فَأعطَى مُوسَى، بِأمرِ اللهِ ، مالَ الفِداءِ لِهارُونَ وَأبْنائِهِ وَفْقاً لِكَلِمَةِ اللهِ.
