1 O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongs— O God, to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth!

JEHOVA, Dios de las venganzas, Dios de las venganzas, muéstrate.

2 R ise up, O Judge of the earth; Render punishment to the proud.

Ensálzate, oh Juez de la tierra: Da el pago á los soberbios.

3 L ord, how long will the wicked, How long will the wicked triumph?

¿Hasta cuándo los impíos, Hasta cuándo, oh Jehová, se gozarán los impíos?

4 T hey utter speech, and speak insolent things; All the workers of iniquity boast in themselves.

¿Hasta cuándo pronunciarán, hablarán cosas duras, Y se vanagloriarán todos los que obran iniquidad?

5 T hey break in pieces Your people, O Lord, And afflict Your heritage.

A tu pueblo, oh Jehová, quebrantan, Y á tu heredad afligen.

6 T hey slay the widow and the stranger, And murder the fatherless.

A la viuda y al extranjero matan, Y á los huérfanos quitan la vida.

7 Y et they say, “The Lord does not see, Nor does the God of Jacob understand.”

Y dijeron: No verá JAH, Ni entenderá el Dios de Jacob.

8 U nderstand, you senseless among the people; And you fools, when will you be wise?

Entended, necios del pueblo; Y vosotros fatuos, ¿cuándo seréis sabios?

9 H e who planted the ear, shall He not hear? He who formed the eye, shall He not see?

El que plantó el oído, ¿no oirá? El que formó el ojo, ¿no verá?

10 H e who instructs the nations, shall He not correct, He who teaches man knowledge?

El que castiga las gentes, ¿no reprenderá? ¿No sabrá el que enseña al hombre la ciencia?

11 T he Lord knows the thoughts of man, That they are futile.

Jehová conoce los pensamientos de los hombres, Que son vanidad.

12 B lessed is the man whom You instruct, O Lord, And teach out of Your law,

Bienaventurado el hombre á quien tú, JAH, castigares, Y en tu ley lo instruyeres;

13 T hat You may give him rest from the days of adversity, Until the pit is dug for the wicked.

Para tranquilizarle en los días de aflicción, En tanto que para el impío se cava el hoyo.

14 F or the Lord will not cast off His people, Nor will He forsake His inheritance.

Porque no dejará Jehová su pueblo, Ni desamparará su heredad;

15 B ut judgment will return to righteousness, And all the upright in heart will follow it.

Sino que el juicio será vuelto á justicia, Y en pos de ella irán todos los rectos de corazón.

16 W ho will rise up for me against the evildoers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

¿Quién se levantará por mí contra los malignos? ¿Quién estará por mí contra los que obran iniquidad?

17 U nless the Lord had been my help, My soul would soon have settled in silence.

Si no me ayudara Jehová, Presto morara mi alma en el silencio.

18 I f I say, “My foot slips,” Your mercy, O Lord, will hold me up.

Cuando yo decía: Mi pie resbala: Tu misericordia, oh Jehová, me sustentaba.

19 I n the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.

En la multitud de mis pensamientos dentro de mí, Tus consolaciones alegraban mi alma.

20 S hall the throne of iniquity, which devises evil by law, Have fellowship with You?

¿Juntaráse contigo el trono de iniquidades, Que forma agravio en el mandamiento?

21 T hey gather together against the life of the righteous, And condemn innocent blood.

Pónense en corros contra la vida del justo, Y condenan la sangre inocente.

22 B ut the Lord has been my defense, And my God the rock of my refuge.

Mas Jehová me ha sido por refugio; Y mi Dios por roca de mi confianza.

23 H e has brought on them their own iniquity, And shall cut them off in their own wickedness; The Lord our God shall cut them off.

Y él hará tornar sobre ellos su iniquidad, Y los destruirá por su propia maldad; Los talará Jehová nuestro Dios.
