1 J ehovah reigneth: let the peoples tremble. He sitteth cherubim: let the earth be moved.

Der HERR ist König, darum zittern die Völker; er sitzt auf den Cherubim, darum bebt die Welt.

2 J ehovah is great in Zion, and he is high above all the peoples.

Der HERR ist groß zu Zion und hoch über alle Völker.

3 T hey shall praise thy great and terrible name,—it is holy!—

Man danke deinem großen und wunderbaren Namen, der da heilig ist.

4 A nd the strength of the king that loveth justice. Thou hast established equity: it is thou that executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob.

Im Reich dieses Königs hat man das Recht lieb. Du gibst Frömmigkeit, du schaffest Gericht und Gerechtigkeit in Jakob.

5 E xalt Jehovah our God, and worship at his footstool. He is holy!

Erhebet den HERRN, unsern Gott, betet an zu seinem Fußschemel; denn er ist heilig.

6 M oses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name: they called unto Jehovah, and he answered them.

Mose und Aaron unter seinen Priestern und Samuel unter denen, die seinen Namen anrufen, sie riefen an den HERRN, und er erhörte sie.

7 H e spoke unto them in the pillar of cloud: they kept his testimonies, and the statute that he gave them.

Er redete mit ihnen durch eine Wolkensäule; sie hielten seine Zeugnisse und Gebote, die er ihnen gab.

8 J ehovah, our God, thou answeredst them: a forgiving God wast thou unto them, though thou tookest vengeance of their doings.

Herr, du bist unser Gott, du erhörtest sie; du, Gott, vergabst ihnen und straftest ihr Tun.

9 E xalt Jehovah our God, and worship at the hill of his holiness; for holy is Jehovah our God.

Erhöhet den HERRN, unsern Gott, und betet an zu seinem heiligen Berge; denn der HERR, unser Gott, ist heilig.
