1 Y e are sons of Jehovah your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for a dead person.

Ihr seid die Kinder des HERRN, eures Gottes; ihr sollt euch nicht Male stechen noch kahl scheren über den Augen über einem Toten.

2 F or thou art a holy people unto Jehovah thy God, and thee hath Jehovah chosen for a people of possession unto himself, out of all the peoples that are upon the face of the earth.

Denn du bist ein heiliges Volk dem HERRN, deinem Gott; und der HERR hat dich erwählt, daß du sein Eigentum seist, aus allen Völkern, die auf Erden sind.

3 T hou shalt not eat any abominable thing.

Du sollst keine Greuel essen.

4 T hese are the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat;

Das sind aber die Tiere, die ihr essen sollt: Ochs, Schaf, Ziege,

5 t he hart, and the gazelle, and the stag, and the wild goat, and the dishon and the oryx, and the wild sheep.

Hirsch, Reh, Büffel, Steinbock, Gemse, Auerochs und Elen;

6 A nd every beast that hath cloven hoofs, and the feet quite split open into double hoofs, which cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that ye shall eat.

und alles Tier, das seine Klauen spaltet und wiederkäut, sollt ihr essen.

7 O nly these ye shall not eat of those that chew the cud, or of those with hoofs cloven and split open: the camel, and the hare, and the rock-badger; for they chew the cud, but have not cloven hoofs—they shall be unclean unto you;

Das sollt ihr aber nicht essen von dem, das wiederkäut, und von dem, das die Klauen spaltet: das Kamel, der Hase und Kaninchen, die wiederkäuen und doch ihre Klauen nicht spalten, sollen euch unrein sein;

8 a nd the swine, for it hath cloven hoofs, yet cheweth not the cud—it shall be unclean unto you. Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch.

das Schwein, ob es wohl die Klauen spaltet, so wiederkäut es doch nicht: es soll euch unrein sein. Ihr Fleisch sollt ihr nicht essen, und ihr Aas sollt ihr nicht anrühren,

9 T hese shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales shall ye eat;

Das ist, was ihr essen sollt von allem, das in Wassern ist: alles, was Floßfedern und Schuppen hat, sollt ihr essen.

10 b ut whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye shall not eat: it shall be unclean unto you.

Was aber keine Floßfedern noch Schuppen hat, sollt ihr nicht essen; denn es ist euch unrein.

11 A ll clean birds shall ye eat.

Alle reinen Vögel esset.

12 B ut these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the sea-eagle,

Das sind aber die ihr nicht essen sollt: der Adler, der Habicht, der Fischaar,

13 a nd the falcon, and the kite, and the black kite after its kind;

der Taucher, der Weih, der Geier mit seiner Art

14 a nd every raven after its kind;

und alle Raben mit ihrer Art,

15 a nd the female ostrich, and the male ostrich, and the sea-gull, and the hawk after its kind;

der Strauß, die Nachteule, der Kuckuck, der Sperber mit seiner Art,

16 t he owl, and the ibis and the swan,

das Käuzlein, der Uhu, die Fledermaus,

17 a nd the pelican, and the carrion vulture, and the gannet,

die Rohrdommel, der Storch, der Schwan,

18 a nd the stork, and the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.

der Reiher, der Häher mit seiner Art, der Wiedehopf, die Schwalbe.

19 A nd every winged crawling thing shall be unclean unto you; they shall not be eaten.

Und alles was Flügel hat und kriecht, soll euch unrein sein, und sollt es nicht essen.

20 A ll clean fowls shall ye eat.

Die reinen Vögel sollt ihr essen.

21 Y e shall eat of no carcase; thou shalt give it unto the stranger that is within thy gates, that he may eat it, or sell it unto a foreigner; for thou art a holy people to Jehovah thy God. Thou shalt not boil a kid in its mother's milk.

Ihr sollt kein Aas essen-dem Fremdling in deinem Tor magst du es geben, daß er's esse oder daß er's verkaufe einem Ausländer; denn du bist ein heiliges Volk dem HERRN, deinem Gott. Du sollst das Böcklein nicht kochen in der Milch seiner Mutter.

22 T hou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, the produce of the field, year by year.

Du sollst alle Jahre den Zehnten absondern alles Ertrages deiner Saat, der aus deinem Acker kommt,

23 A nd thou shalt eat before Jehovah thy God, in the place which he will choose to cause his name to dwell there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy new wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear Jehovah thy God continually.

und sollst davon essen vor dem HERRN, deinem Gott, an dem Ort, den er erwählt, daß sein Name daselbst wohne, nämlich vom Zehnten deines Getreides, deines Mostes, deines Öls und von der Erstgeburt deiner Rinder und deiner Schafe, auf daß du lernst fürchten den HERRN, deinen Gott, dein Leben lang.

24 A nd if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it, because the place is too far from thee, which Jehovah thy God will choose to set his name there, when Jehovah thy God blesseth thee;

Wenn aber des Weges dir zu viel ist, daß du solches hintragen kannst, darum daß der Ort dir zu ferne ist, den der HERR, dein Gott, erwählt hat, daß er seinen Namen daselbst wohnen lasse (denn der HERR, dein Gott, hat dich gesegnet):

25 t hen shalt thou give it for money, and bind the money together in thy hand, and go to the place which Jehovah thy God will choose,

so gib's hin um Geld und fasse das Geld in deine Hand und gehe an den Ort, den der HERR, dein Gott, erwählt hat,

26 a nd thou shalt give the money for whatever thy soul desireth, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatever thy soul asketh of thee; and thou shalt eat there before Jehovah thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thy house.

und gib das Geld um alles, was deiner Seele gelüstet, es sei um Rinder, Schafe, Wein, starken Trank oder um alles, das deine Seele wünscht, und iß daselbst vor dem HERRN, deinem Gott, und sei fröhlich, du und dein Haus

27 A nd thou shalt not forsake the Levite that is within thy gates; for he hath no portion nor inheritance with thee.

und der Levit, der in deinem Tor ist (den sollst du nicht verlassen, denn er hat kein Teil noch Erbe mit dir).

28 A t the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates;

Alle drei Jahre sollst du aussondern den Zehnten deines Ertrages desselben Jahrs und sollst's lassen in deinem Tor.

29 a nd the Levite—for he hath no portion nor inheritance with thee—and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in all the work of thy hand which thou doest.

So soll kommen der Levit (der kein Teil noch Erbe mit dir hat) und der Fremdling und der Waise und die Witwe, die in deinem Tor sind, und essen und sich sättigen, auf daß dich der HERR, dein Gott, segne in allen Werken deiner Hand, die du tust.
