1 » Yo soy la vid verdadera y mi Padre es el labrador.

“I am the true Vine. My Father is the One Who cares for the Vine.

2 T odo pámpano que en mí no lleva fruto, lo quitará; y todo aquel que lleva fruto, lo limpiará, para que lleve más fruto.

He takes away any branch in Me that does not give fruit. Any branch that gives fruit, He cuts it back so it will give more fruit.

3 Y a vosotros estáis limpios por la palabra que os he hablado.

You are made clean by the words I have spoken to you.

4 P ermaneced en mí, y yo en vosotros. Como el pámpano no puede llevar fruto por sí mismo, si no permanece en la vid, así tampoco vosotros, si no permanecéis en mí.

Get your life from Me and I will live in you. No branch can give fruit by itself. It has to get life from the vine. You are able to give fruit only when you have life from Me.

5 » Yo soy la vid, vosotros los pámpanos; el que permanece en mí y yo en él, éste lleva mucho fruto, porque separados de mí nada podéis hacer.

I am the Vine and you are the branches. Get your life from Me. Then I will live in you and you will give much fruit. You can do nothing without Me.

6 E l que en mí no permanece, será echado fuera como pámpano, y se secará; y los recogen, los echan en el fuego y arden.

“If anyone does not get his life from Me, he is cut off like a branch and dries up. Such branches are gathered and thrown into the fire and they are burned.

7 S i permanecéis en mí y mis palabras permanecen en vosotros, pedid todo lo que queráis y os será hecho.

If you get your life from Me and My Words live in you, ask whatever you want. It will be done for you.

8 E n esto es glorificado mi Padre: en que llevéis mucho fruto y seáis así mis discípulos.

“When you give much fruit, My Father is honored. This shows you are My followers.

9 C omo el Padre me ha amado, así también yo os he amado; permaneced en mi amor.

I have loved you just as My Father has loved Me. Stay in My love.

10 S i guardáis mis mandamientos, permaneceréis en mi amor; así como yo he guardado los mandamientos de mi Padre y permanezco en su amor.

If you obey My teaching, you will live in My love. In this way, I have obeyed My Father’s teaching and live in His love.

11 » Estas cosas os he hablado para que mi gozo esté en vosotros, y vuestro gozo sea completo.

I have told you these things so My joy may be in you and your joy may be full. The Christian with Other Christians

12 » Éste es mi mandamiento: Que os améis unos a otros, como yo os he amado.

“This is what I tell you to do: Love each other just as I have loved you.

13 N adie tiene mayor amor que éste, que uno ponga su vida por sus amigos.

No one can have greater love than to give his life for his friends.

14 V osotros sois mis amigos si hacéis lo que yo os mando.

You are My friends if you do what I tell you.

15 Y a no os llamaré siervos, porque el siervo no sabe lo que hace su señor; pero os he llamado amigos, porque todas las cosas que oí de mi Padre os las he dado a conocer.

I do not call you servants that I own anymore. A servant does not know what his owner is doing. I call you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from My Father.

16 N o me elegisteis vosotros a mí, sino que yo os elegí a vosotros y os he puesto para que vayáis y llevéis fruto, y vuestro fruto permanezca; para que todo lo que pidáis al Padre en mi nombre, él os lo dé.

You have not chosen Me, I have chosen you. I have set you apart for the work of bringing in fruit. Your fruit should last. And whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give it to you. The Christian and the World

17 E sto os mando: Que os améis unos a otros. El mundo os odia

“This is what I tell you to do: Love each other.

18 » Si el mundo os odia, sabed que a mí me ha odiado antes que a vosotros.

If the world hates you, you know it hated Me before it hated you.

19 S i fuerais del mundo, el mundo amaría lo suyo; pero porque no sois del mundo, antes yo os elegí del mundo, por eso el mundo os odia.

If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own. You do not belong to the world. I have chosen you out of the world and the world hates you.

20 A cordaos de la palabra que yo os he dicho: “El siervo no es mayor que su señor.” Si a mí me han perseguido, también a vosotros os perseguirán; si han guardado mi palabra, también guardarán la vuestra.

Remember I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his owner.’ If they made it very hard for Me, they will make it very hard for you also. If they obeyed My teachings, they will obey your teachings also.

21 P ero todo esto os harán por causa de mi nombre, porque no conocen al que me ha enviado.

They will do all these things to you because you belong to Me. They do not know My Father Who sent Me.

22 » Si yo no hubiera venido, ni les hubiera hablado, no tendrían pecado; pero ahora no tienen excusa por su pecado.

“I have come and have spoken to them so they are guilty of sin. But now they have no reason to give for keeping their sin any longer.

23 E l que me odia a mí, también a mi Padre odia.

Whoever hates Me, hates My Father also.

24 S i yo no hubiera hecho entre ellos obras que ningún otro ha hecho, no tendrían pecado; pero ahora han visto, y me han odiado a mí y a mi Padre.

I have done things among them which no one else has done so they are guilty of sin. But now they have seen these things and have hated Me and My Father.

25 P ero esto es para que se cumpla la palabra que está escrita en su Ley: “Sin causa me odian.”

This happened as their Law said it would happen, ‘They hated Me without a reason.’

26 » Pero cuando venga el Consolador, a quien yo os enviaré del Padre, el Espíritu de verdad, el cual procede del Padre, él dará testimonio acerca de mí.

“The Helper (Holy Spirit) will tell about Me when He comes. I will send Him to you from the Father. He is the Spirit of Truth and comes from the Father.

27 Y vosotros daréis testimonio también, porque habéis estado conmigo desde el principio.

You will also tell of Me because you have been with Me from the beginning.
