1 C iertamente es bueno Dios para con Israel, para con los limpios de corazón.

Surely God is good to Israel, To those who are pure in heart!

2 E n cuanto a mí, casi se deslizaron mis pies, ¡por poco resbalaron mis pasos!,

3 p orque tuve envidia de los arrogantes, viendo la prosperidad de los impíos.

4 N o se atribulan por su muerte, pues su vigor está entero.

For there are no pains in their death, And their body is fat.

5 N o pasan trabajos como los otros mortales, ni son azotados como los demás hombres.

They are not in trouble as other men, Nor are they plagued like mankind.

6 P or tanto, la soberbia los corona; se cubren con vestido de violencia.

Therefore pride is their necklace; The garment of violence covers them.

7 L os ojos se les saltan de gordura; logran con creces los antojos del corazón.

Their eye bulges from fatness; The imaginations of their heart run riot.

8 S e mofan y hablan con maldad de hacer violencia; hablan con altanería.

They mock and wickedly speak of oppression; They speak from on high.

9 P onen su boca contra el cielo y su lengua pasea la tierra.

They have set their mouth against the heavens, And their tongue parades through the earth.

10 P or eso Dios hará volver a su pueblo aquí, y aguas en abundancia son extraídas para ellos.

Therefore his people return to this place, And waters of abundance are drunk by them.

11 Y dicen: «¿Cómo sabe Dios? ¿Acaso hay conocimiento en el Altísimo?»

They say, “ How does God know? And is there knowledge with the Most High?”

12 E stos impíos, sin ser turbados del mundo, aumentaron sus riquezas.

Behold, these are the wicked; And always at ease, they have increased in wealth.

13 ¡ Verdaderamente en vano he limpiado mi corazón y en inocencia he lavado mis manos!,

Surely in vain I have kept my heart pure And washed my hands in innocence;

14 p ues he sido azotado todo el día y castigado todas las mañanas.

For I have been stricken all day long And chastened every morning.

If I had said, “I will speak thus,” Behold, I would have betrayed the generation of Your children.

16 C uando pensé para saber esto, fue duro trabajo para mí,

When I pondered to understand this, It was troublesome in my sight

18 C iertamente, los has puesto en deslizaderos, en asolamiento los harás caer.

Surely You set them in slippery places; You cast them down to destruction.

How they are destroyed in a moment! They are utterly swept away by sudden terrors!

20 C omo sueño del que despierta, así, Señor, cuando despiertes, menospreciarás su apariencia.

Like a dream when one awakes, O Lord, when aroused, You will despise their form.

21 S e llenó de amargura mi alma y en mi corazón sentía punzadas.

When my heart was embittered And I was pierced within,

Then I was senseless and ignorant; I was like a beast before You.

23 C on todo, yo siempre estuve contigo; me tomaste de la mano derecha.

Nevertheless I am continually with You; You have taken hold of my right hand.

24 M e has guiado según tu consejo, y después me recibirás en gloria.

With Your counsel You will guide me, And afterward receive me to glory.

25 ¿ A quién tengo yo en los cielos sino a ti? Y fuera de ti nada deseo en la tierra.

Whom have I in heaven but You ? And besides You, I desire nothing on earth.

26 M i carne y mi corazón desfallecen; mas la roca de mi corazón y mi porción es Dios para siempre.

My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

27 C iertamente los que se alejan de ti perecerán; tú destruirás a todo aquel que de ti se aparta.

For, behold, those who are far from You will perish; You have destroyed all those who are unfaithful to You.

28 P ero en cuanto a mí, el acercarme a Dios es el bien. He puesto en Jehová el Señor mi esperanza, para contar todas tus obras.

But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord God my refuge, That I may tell of all Your works.
