1 E n el año cuatrocientos ochenta después que los hijos de Israel salieron de Egipto, el cuarto año del reinado de Salomón sobre Israel, en el mes de Zif, que es el mes segundo, comenzó él a edificar la casa de Jehová.

Now it came about in the four hundred and eightieth year after the sons of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the Lord.

2 L a casa que el rey Salomón edificó a Jehová tenía sesenta codos de largo, veinte de ancho y treinta codos de alto.

As for the house which King Solomon built for the Lord, its length was sixty cubits and its width twenty cubits and its height thirty cubits.

3 E l pórtico delante del Templo tenía veinte codos de largo a lo ancho de la Casa, y el ancho delante de la Casa era de diez codos.

The porch in front of the nave of the house was twenty cubits in length, corresponding to the width of the house, and its depth along the front of the house was ten cubits.

4 H izo a la Casa ventanas anchas por dentro y estrechas por fuera.

Also for the house he made windows with artistic frames.

5 E dificó también aposentos junto al muro de la Casa y a su alrededor, adosados a las paredes de la Casa alrededor del Templo y del Lugar santísimo, y construyó habitaciones laterales alrededor.

Against the wall of the house he built stories encompassing the walls of the house around both the nave and the inner sanctuary; thus he made side chambers all around.

6 E l aposento de abajo tenía cinco codos de ancho, el de en medio, seis codos de ancho, y el tercero siete codos de ancho, pues había reducido por fuera las medidas del Templo, para no empotrar las vigas en las paredes de la Casa.

The lowest story was five cubits wide, and the middle was six cubits wide, and the third was seven cubits wide; for on the outside he made offsets in the wall of the house all around in order that the beams would not be inserted in the walls of the house.

7 C uando se edificó la Casa, la construyeron con piedras que traían ya talladas, de tal manera que no se oyeron en la Casa ni martillos ni hachas, ni ningún otro instrumento de hierro, cuando la edificaban.

The house, while it was being built, was built of stone prepared at the quarry, and there was neither hammer nor axe nor any iron tool heard in the house while it was being built.

8 L a puerta del aposento intermedio estaba al lado derecho de la Casa. Se subía por una escalera de caracol al aposento intermedio, y de allí al tercero.

The doorway for the lowest side chamber was on the right side of the house; and they would go up by winding stairs to the middle story, and from the middle to the third.

9 C onstruyó, pues, la Casa, la terminó y la recubrió con artesonados de cedro.

So he built the house and finished it; and he covered the house with beams and planks of cedar.

10 E dificó asimismo una galería de cinco codos de altura alrededor de toda la Casa, la cual se apoyaba en la Casa con maderas de cedro.

He also built the stories against the whole house, each five cubits high; and they were fastened to the house with timbers of cedar.

11 E ntonces dijo Jehová a Salomón:

Now the word of the Lord came to Solomon saying,

12 « En cuanto a esta casa que edificas, si caminas en mis preceptos, cumples mis decretos y guardas todos mis mandamientos andando en ellos, yo cumpliré contigo mi palabra, la que dije a David, tu padre:

“ Concerning this house which you are building, if you will walk in My statutes and execute My ordinances and keep all My commandments by walking in them, then I will carry out My word with you which I spoke to David your father.

13 H abitaré en medio de los hijos de Israel y no abandonaré a mi pueblo Israel.»

I will dwell among the sons of Israel, and will not forsake My people Israel.”

14 A sí, pues, Salomón construyó la Casa y la terminó.

So Solomon built the house and finished it.

15 R ecubrió las paredes de la Casa con tablas de cedro, revistiéndola de madera por dentro, desde el suelo de la Casa hasta las vigas de la techumbre. Recubrió también el pavimento con madera de ciprés.

Then he built the walls of the house on the inside with boards of cedar; from the floor of the house to the ceiling he overlaid the walls on the inside with wood, and he overlaid the floor of the house with boards of cypress.

16 A simismo hizo al final de la Casa un edificio de veinte codos, y lo recubrió de tablas de cedro desde el suelo hasta lo más alto; así hizo en la Casa un aposento para que fuera el Lugar santísimo.

He built twenty cubits on the rear part of the house with boards of cedar from the floor to the ceiling; he built them for it on the inside as an inner sanctuary, even as the most holy place.

17 L a Casa, esto es, el Templo de enfrente, tenía cuarenta codos.

The house, that is, the nave in front of the inner sanctuary, was forty cubits long.

18 L a Casa estaba recubierta de cedro por dentro y tenía entalladuras de calabazas silvestres y de botones de flores. Todo era cedro; ninguna piedra se veía.

There was cedar on the house within, carved in the shape of gourds and open flowers; all was cedar, there was no stone seen.

19 S alomón preparó el Lugar santísimo por dentro en medio de la Casa, para poner allí el Arca del pacto de Jehová.

Then he prepared an inner sanctuary within the house in order to place there the ark of the covenant of the Lord.

20 E l Lugar santísimo estaba en la parte de adentro, y tenía veinte codos de largo, veinte de ancho, y veinte de alto. Lo recubrió de oro purísimo. Asimismo recubrió de oro el altar de cedro.

The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits in length, twenty cubits in width, and twenty cubits in height, and he overlaid it with pure gold. He also overlaid the altar with cedar.

21 D e manera que Salomón recubrió de oro puro la Casa por dentro, cerró la entrada del santuario con cadenas de oro y lo recubrió de oro.

So Solomon overlaid the inside of the house with pure gold. And he drew chains of gold across the front of the inner sanctuary, and he overlaid it with gold.

22 R ecubrió, pues, de oro toda la Casa de arriba abajo, y asimismo recubrió de oro todo el altar que estaba frente al Lugar santísimo.

He overlaid the whole house with gold, until all the house was finished. Also the whole altar which was by the inner sanctuary he overlaid with gold.

23 H izo también en el Lugar santísimo dos querubines de madera de olivo, cada uno de diez codos de altura.

Also in the inner sanctuary he made two cherubim of olive wood, each ten cubits high.

24 U n ala del querubín tenía cinco codos y la otra ala del querubín otros cinco codos; así que había diez codos desde la punta de un ala hasta la punta de la otra.

Five cubits was the one wing of the cherub and five cubits the other wing of the cherub; from the end of one wing to the end of the other wing were ten cubits.

25 A simismo el otro querubín tenía diez codos, pues ambos querubines tenían el mismo tamaño y la misma forma.

The other cherub was ten cubits; both the cherubim were of the same measure and the same form.

26 L a altura de uno era de diez codos, y lo mismo la del otro.

The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was the other cherub.

27 P uso estos querubines dentro de la Casa en el Lugar santísimo, los cuales tenían sus alas extendidas, de modo que el ala de uno tocaba una pared, y el ala del otro tocaba la otra pared, mientras las otras dos alas se tocaban la una a la otra en medio de la Casa.

He placed the cherubim in the midst of the inner house, and the wings of the cherubim were spread out, so that the wing of the one was touching the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub was touching the other wall. So their wings were touching each other in the center of the house.

28 L uego recubrió de oro los querubines,

He also overlaid the cherubim with gold.

29 y esculpió todas las paredes alrededor de la Casa con diversas figuras de querubines, de palmeras y de botones de flores, por dentro y por fuera.

Then he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved engravings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, inner and outer sanctuaries.

30 T ambién recubrió de oro el piso de la Casa, por dentro y por fuera.

He overlaid the floor of the house with gold, inner and outer sanctuaries.

31 A la entrada del santuario hizo puertas de madera de olivo. El umbral y los postes tenían cinco esquinas.

For the entrance of the inner sanctuary he made doors of olive wood, the lintel and five-sided doorposts.

32 L as dos puertas eran de madera de olivo. En ellas talló figuras de querubines, de palmeras y de botones de flores, y las recubrió de oro. Recubrió también de oro los querubines y las palmeras.

So he made two doors of olive wood, and he carved on them carvings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold; and he spread the gold on the cherubim and on the palm trees.

33 I gualmente hizo para la puerta del Templo marcos cuadrados de madera de olivo.

So also he made for the entrance of the nave four-sided doorposts of olive wood

34 L as dos puertas eran de madera de ciprés, y las dos hojas de ambas puertas giraban.

and two doors of cypress wood; the two leaves of the one door turned on pivots, and the two leaves of the other door turned on pivots.

35 T alló en ellas querubines, palmeras y botones de flores, y las recubrió de oro ajustado a las talladuras.

He carved on it cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers; and he overlaid them with gold evenly applied on the engraved work.

36 E dificó el atrio interior de tres hileras de piedras labradas, y de una hilera de vigas de cedro.

He built the inner court with three rows of cut stone and a row of cedar beams.

37 E n el cuarto año, en el mes de Zif, se echaron los cimientos de la casa de Jehová.

In the fourth year the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid, in the month of Ziv.

38 Y en el undécimo año, en el mes de Bul, que es el mes octavo, fue acabada la Casa con todas sus dependencias y todo lo necesario. La edificó, pues, en siete años.

In the eleventh year, in the month of Bul, which is the eighth month, the house was finished throughout all its parts and according to all its plans. So he was seven years in building it.
