1 H ermanos, ciertamente el anhelo de mi corazón, y mi oración a Dios por Israel, es para salvación.

Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.

2 P orque yo les doy testimonio de que tienen celo de Dios, pero no según el perfecto conocimiento.

For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

3 P orque ignorando la justicia de Dios, y procurando establecer la suya propia, no se han sometido a la justicia de Dios;

For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

4 p orque Cristo es el fin de la ley, para justicia a todo aquel que cree.

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

5 P orque Moisés describe así la justicia que es por la ley: El hombre que haga estas cosas, vivirá por ellas.

For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.

6 P ero la justicia que procede de la fe dice así: No digas en tu corazón: ¿Quién subirá al cielo? (esto es, para hacer bajar a Cristo);

But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above: )

7 o , ¿quién descenderá al abismo? (esto es, para hacer subir a Cristo de entre los muertos).

or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)

8 M as ¿qué dice? Cerca de ti está la palabra, en tu boca y en tu corazón. Esto es, la palabra de fe que predicamos:

But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

9 q ue si confiesas con tu boca que Jesús es el Señor, y crees en tu corazón que Dios le levantó de los muertos, serás salvo.

that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 P orque con el corazón se cree para justicia, y con la boca se confiesa para salvación.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

11 P ues la Escritura dice: Todo aquel que cree en él, no será avergonzado.

For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

12 P orque no hay diferencia entre judío y griego, pues uno mismo es el Señor de todos, que es rico para con todos los que le invocan;

For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

13 p orque todo aquel que invocare el nombre del Señor, será salvo.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

14 ¿ Cómo, pues, invocarán a aquel en el cual no han creído? ¿Y cómo creerán en aquel de quien no han oído? ¿Y cómo oirán sin haber quien les predique?

How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

15 ¿ Y cómo predicarán si no han sido enviados? Como está escrito: ¡Cuán hermosos son los pies de los que anuncian la paz, de los que anuncian buenas nuevas!

and how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

16 M as no todos obedecieron al evangelio; pues Isaías dice: Señor, ¿quién ha creído a nuestro anuncio?

But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

17 A sí que la fe viene del oír; y el oír, por medio de la palabra de Dios.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

18 P ero digo: ¿Acaso no han oído? ¡Sí, por cierto! Por toda la tierra ha salido la voz de ellos, Y sus palabras hasta los confines de la tierra.

But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.

19 Y además digo: ¿No ha conocido esto Israel? Primero, Moisés dice: Yo os provocaré a celos con un pueblo que no es pueblo; Con un pueblo insensato os provocaré a ira.

But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.

20 E Isaías dice resueltamente: Fui hallado por los que no me buscaban; Me manifesté a los que no preguntaban por mí.

But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.

21 P ero acerca de Israel dice: Todo el día extendí mis manos hacia un pueblo desobediente y contradictor.

But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
