1 Y o soy la vid verdadera, y mi Padre es el labrador.

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

2 T odo pámpano que en mí no lleva fruto, lo quita; y todo aquel que lleva fruto, lo limpia, para que lleve más fruto.

Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

3 V osotros estáis ya limpios por la palabra que os he hablado.

Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

4 P ermaneced en mí, y yo en vosotros. Como el pámpano no puede llevar fruto por sí mismo, si no permanece en la vid, así tampoco vosotros, si no permanecéis en mí.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

5 Y o soy la vid, vosotros los pámpanos; el que permanece en mí, y yo en él, éste lleva mucho fruto; porque separados de mí, nada podéis hacer.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

6 E l que en mí no permanece, es echado fuera como el pámpano, y se seca; y los recogen, y los echan en el fuego, y arden.

If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

7 S i permanecéis en mí, y mis palabras permanecen en vosotros, pedid todo lo que queráis, y os será hecho.

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

8 E n esto es glorificado mi Padre, en que llevéis mucho fruto, y seáis, así, mis discípulos.

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

9 A sí como el Padre me ha amado, también yo os he amado; permaneced en mi amor.

As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

10 S i guardáis mis mandamientos, permaneceréis en mi amor; así como yo he guardado los mandamientos de mi Padre, y permanezco en su amor.

If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

11 E stas cosas os he hablado, para que mi gozo esté en vosotros, y vuestro gozo sea cumplido.

These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

12 E ste es mi mandamiento: Que os améis unos a otros, como yo os he amado.

This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

13 N adie tiene mayor amor que este, que uno ponga su vida por sus amigos.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

14 V osotros sois mis amigos, si hacéis cuanto yo os mando.

Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

15 Y a no os llamo siervos, porque el siervo no sabe lo que hace su señor; sino que os he llamado amigos, porque todas las cosas que le oí a mi Padre, os las he dado a conocer.

Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

16 N o me elegisteis vosotros a mí, sino que yo os elegí a vosotros, y os he puesto para que vayáis y llevéis fruto, y vuestro fruto permanezca; para que todo lo que pidáis al Padre en mi nombre, os lo dé.

Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

17 E sto os mando: Que os améis unos a otros. El mundo os aborrecerá

These things I command you, that ye love one another.

18 S i el mundo os aborrece, sabed que a mí me ha aborrecido antes que a vosotros.

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

19 S i fuerais del mundo, el mundo amaría lo suyo; pero porque no sois del mundo, sino que yo os elegí del mundo, por eso el mundo os aborrece.

If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

20 A cordaos de la palabra que yo os he dicho: El siervo no es mayor que su señor. Si a mí me han perseguido, también a vosotros os perseguirán; si han guardado mi palabra, también guardarán la vuestra.

Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

21 M as todo esto os harán por causa de mi nombre, porque no conocen al que me ha enviado.

But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.

22 S i yo no hubiera venido, ni les hubiera hablado, no tendrían pecado; pero ahora no tienen excusa de su pecado.

If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.

23 E l que me aborrece a mí, aborrece también a mi Padre.

He that hateth me hateth my Father also.

24 S i yo no hubiese hecho entre ellos las obras que ningún otro ha hecho, no tendrían pecado; pero ahora las han visto, y me han aborrecido a mí y también a mi Padre.

If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

25 P ero esto es para que se cumpla la palabra que está escrita en su ley: Me aborrecieron sin motivo.

But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

26 P ero cuando venga el Consolador, a quien yo os enviaré del Padre, el Espíritu de verdad, el cual procede del Padre, él dará testimonio acerca de mí.

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

27 Y vosotros daréis testimonio también, porque estáis conmigo desde el principio.

and ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.
