1 C iertamente es bueno Dios para con Israel, Para con los limpios de corazón.

Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.

2 E n cuanto a mí, casi se deslizaron mis pies; Por poco resbalaron mis pasos.

But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.

3 P orque tuve envidia de los arrogantes, Viendo la prosperidad de los impíos.

For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

4 P orque no hay congojas para ellos, Pues su vigor está entero.

For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm.

5 N o pasan trabajos como los otros mortales, Ni son azotados como los demás hombres.

They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.

6 P or tanto, la soberbia los rodea como un collar; Se cubren de vestido de violencia.

Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.

7 L os ojos se les saltan de gordura; Logran con creces los antojos del corazón.

Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.

8 S e mofan y hablan con maldad de hacer violencia; Hablan con altanería.

They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.

9 P onen su boca contra el cielo, Y su lengua recorre la tierra.

They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.

10 P or eso, mi pueblo se vuelve hacia ellos, Y bebe a grandes sorbos de sus aguas.

Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.

11 Y dicen: ¿Cómo sabe Dios? ¿Y hay conocimiento en el Altísimo?

And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?

12 H e aquí estos impíos, Sin ser turbados del mundo, alcanzaron riquezas.

Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.

13 V erdaderamente en vano he limpiado mi corazón, Y lavado mis manos en inocencia;

Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency.

14 P ues he sido azotado todo el día, Y castigado todas las mañanas.

For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.

15 S i dijera yo: Hablaré como ellos, He aquí, a la generación de tus hijos engañaría.

If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children.

16 C uando medité para entender esto, Fue un duro trabajo para mí,

When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me;

17 H asta que, entrando en el santuario de Dios, Comprendí el fin de ellos.

until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.

18 C iertamente los has puesto en deslizaderos; Los precipitas en una completa ruina.

Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.

19 ¡ Cómo han sido asolados de repente! Perecieron, se consumieron de terrores.

How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.

20 C omo sueño del que despierta, Así, Señor, cuando te levantes, los menospreciarás como a fantasmas.

As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.

21 S e llenó de amargura mi alma, Y en mi corazón sentía punzadas.

Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.

22 T an torpe era yo, que no entendía; Era como una bestia delante de ti.

So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee.

23 C on todo, yo siempre estoy contigo; Me tomaste de la mano derecha.

Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.

24 M e has guiado según tu consejo, Y después me recibirás en gloria.

Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

25 ¿ A quién tengo yo en los cielos sino a ti? Estando contigo, nada me deleita ya en la tierra.

Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.

26 M i carne y mi corazón desfallecen; Mas la roca de mi corazón y mi porción es Dios para siempre.

My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

27 P orque he aquí, los que se alejan de ti perecerán; Tú destruirás a todo aquel que de ti se aparta.

For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.

28 P ero en cuanto a mí, el acercarme a Dios es el bien; He puesto en Jehová el Señor mi esperanza, Para contar todas tus obras.

But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works.
