1 C uando Salomón acabó la obra de la casa de Jehová, y la casa real, y todo lo que Salomón quiso hacer,

And it came to pass, when Solomon had finished the building of the house of the Lord, and the king’s house, and all Solomon’s desire which he was pleased to do,

2 J ehová se apareció a Salomón la segunda vez, como se le había aparecido en Gabaón.

that the Lord appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon.

3 Y le dijo Jehová: Yo he oído tu oración y tu ruego que has hecho en mi presencia. Yo he santificado esta casa que tú has edificado, para poner mi nombre en ella para siempre; y en ella estarán mis ojos y mi corazón todos los días.

And the Lord said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

4 Y si tú andas delante de mí como anduvo David tu padre, en integridad de corazón y en equidad, haciendo todas las cosas que yo te he mandado, y guardando mis estatutos y mis decretos,

And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:

5 y o afirmaré el trono de tu reino sobre Israel para siempre, como hablé a David tu padre, diciendo: No faltará varón de tu descendencia en el trono de Israel.

then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.

6 M as si obstinadamente os apartáis de mí vosotros y vuestros hijos, y no guardáis mis mandamientos y mis estatutos que yo he puesto delante de vosotros, sino que os vais a servir a dioses ajenos, y los adoráis;

But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them:

7 y o cortaré a Israel de sobre la faz de la tierra que les he entregado; y esta casa que he santificado a mi nombre, yo la echaré de delante de mí, e Israel será por proverbio y refrán a todos los pueblos;

then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people:

8 y esta casa, que estaba en estima, cualquiera que pase por ella se asombrará, y se burlará, y dirá: ¿Por qué ha hecho así Jehová a esta tierra y a esta casa?

and at this house, which is high, every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why hath the Lord done thus unto this land, and to this house?

9 Y dirán: Por cuanto dejaron a Jehová su Dios, que había sacado a sus padres de tierra de Egipto, y siguieron a dioses ajenos, y los adoraron y los sirvieron; por eso ha traído Jehová sobre ellos todo este mal. Otras actividades de Salomón

And they shall answer, Because they forsook the Lord their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold upon other gods, and have worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath the Lord brought upon them all this evil.

10 A l cabo de veinte años, cuando Salomón ya había edificado las dos casas, la casa de Jehová y la casa real,

And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the Lord, and the king’s house,

11 c omo Hiram rey de Tiro había suministrado a Salomón madera de cedro y de ciprés, y cuanto oro quiso, el rey Salomón dio a Hiram veinte ciudades en tierra de Galilea.

( now Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar trees and fir trees, and with gold, according to all his desire,) that then king Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.

12 Y salió Hiram de Tiro para ver las ciudades que Salomón le había dado, y no le gustaron.

And Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him; and they pleased him not.

13 Y dijo: ¿Qué ciudades son estas que me has dado, hermano? Y les puso por nombre la tierra de Cabul, nombre que tiene hasta hoy.

And he said, What cities are these which thou hast given me, my brother? And he called them the land of Cabul unto this day.

14 E Hiram había enviado al rey ciento veinte talentos de oro.

And Hiram sent to the king sixscore talents of gold.

15 E sta es la razón de la leva de personal que el rey Salomón impuso para edificar la casa de Jehová, y su propia casa, y Miló, y el muro de Jerusalén, y Hazor, Meguidó y Gézer:

And this is the reason of the levy which king Solomon raised; for to build the house of the Lord, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer.

16 F araón el rey de Egipto había subido y tomado a Gézer, y la quemó, y dio muerte a los cananeos que habitaban en la ciudad, y se la dio en dote a su hija la mujer de Salomón.

For Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up, and taken Gezer, and burnt it with fire, and slain the Canaanites that dwelt in the city, and given it for a present unto his daughter, Solomon’s wife.

17 R estauró, pues, Salomón a Gézer y a Bet-horón de abajo,

And Solomon built Gezer, and Beth-horon the nether,

18 a Baalat, y a Tamar en tierra del desierto;

and Baalath, and Tadmor in the wilderness, in the land,

19 a simismo todas las ciudades donde Salomón tenía provisiones, y las ciudades de los carros, y las ciudades de la gente de a caballo, y todo lo que Salomón quiso edificar en Jerusalén, en el Líbano y en toda la tierra de su señorío. Leva para las construcciones

and all the cities of store that Solomon had, and cities for his chariots, and cities for his horsemen, and that which Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

20 A todos los pueblos que quedaron de los amorreos, heteos, ferezeos, heveos y jebuseos, que no eran de los hijos de Israel;

And all the people that were left of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, which were not of the children of Israel,

21 a sus hijos que quedaron en la tierra después de ellos, que los hijos de Israel no pudieron exterminar, impuso Salomón una leva de prestación personal hasta hoy.

their children that were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel also were not able utterly to destroy, upon those did Solomon levy a tribute of bondservice unto this day.

22 M as a ninguno de los hijos de Israel impuso Salomón servicio, sino que eran hombres de guerra, o sus criados, sus príncipes, sus capitanes, comandantes de sus carros, o su gente de a caballo.

But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no bondmen: but they were men of war, and his servants, and his princes, and his captains, and rulers of his chariots, and his horsemen.

23 Y los que Salomón había hecho jefes y vigilantes sobre las obras eran quinientos cincuenta, los cuales estaban al frente del pueblo que trabajaba en aquellas obras.

These were the chief of the officers that were over Solomon’s work, five hundred and fifty, which bare rule over the people that wrought in the work.

24 C uando la hija de Faraón subió de la ciudad de David a la casa que Salomón le había edificado, entonces edificó él Miló.

But Pharaoh’s daughter came up out of the city of David unto her house which Solomon had built for her: then did he build Millo.

25 Y ofrecía Salomón tres veces cada año holocaustos y sacrificios de paz sobre el altar que él edificó a Jehová, y quemaba incienso sobre el que estaba delante de Jehová, después que la casa fue terminada.

And three times in a year did Solomon offer burnt offerings and peace offerings upon the altar which he built unto the Lord, and he burnt incense upon the altar that was before the Lord. So he finished the house.

26 H izo también el rey Salomón naves en Ezyón-géber, que está junto a Elot en la ribera del Mar Rojo, en la tierra de Edom.

And king Solomon made a navy of ships in Ezion-geber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red sea, in the land of Edom.

27 Y envió Hiram en ellas a sus siervos, marineros y diestros en el mar, con los siervos de Salomón,

And Hiram sent in the navy his servants, shipmen that had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon.

28 l os cuales fueron a Ofir y tomaron de allí oro, cuatrocientos veinte talentos, y lo trajeron al rey Salomón.

And they came to Ophir, and fetched from thence gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to king Solomon.
