1 A cuérdate, oh Jehová, de lo que nos ha sucedido; Mira, y ve nuestro oprobio.

Remember, O Lord, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.

2 N uestra heredad ha pasado a extraños, Nuestras casas a forasteros.

Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.

3 H uérfanos somos sin padre; Nuestras madres son como viudas.

We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers are as widows.

4 N uestra agua bebemos por dinero; Compramos nuestra leña por precio.

We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us.

5 P adecemos persecución sobre nosotros; Nos fatigamos, y no hay para nosotros reposo.

Our necks are under persecution: we labour, and have no rest.

6 A l egipcio y al asirio extendimos la mano, para saciarnos de pan.

We have given the hand to the Egyptians, and to the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.

7 N uestros padres pecaron, y han muerto; Y nosotros cargamos con sus culpas.

Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities.

8 L os esclavos dominan sobre nosotros; No hay quien nos libre de sus manos.

Servants have ruled over us: there is none that doth deliver us out of their hand.

9 C on peligro de nuestras vidas nos procuramos nuestro pan Ante la espada del desierto.

We gat our bread with the peril of our lives because of the sword of the wilderness.

10 N uestra piel ennegreció como un horno A causa del ardor del hambre.

Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine.

11 V iolaron a las mujeres en Sión, A las doncellas en las ciudades de Judá.

They ravished the women in Zion, and the maids in the cities of Judah.

12 A los príncipes colgaron por sus manos; No respetaron el rostro de los ancianos.

Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured.

13 L levaron a los jóvenes a moler, Y los niños tropezaban bajo el peso de la leña.

They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood.

14 L os ancianos no se ven más en la puerta, Los jóvenes dejaron sus canciones.

The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick.

15 C esó el gozo de nuestro corazón; Nuestra danza se cambió en luto.

The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.

16 C ayó la corona de nuestra cabeza; ¡Ay ahora de nosotros!, porque hemos pecado.

The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!

17 P or eso está dolorido nuestro corazón, Por eso se han oscurecido nuestros ojos,

For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes are dim.

18 P or el monte de Sión que está asolado; ¡Las raposas merodean en él!

Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.

19 M as tú, Jehová, permaneces para siempre; Tu trono, de generación en generación.

Thou, O Lord, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.

20 ¿ Por qué te olvidas completamente de nosotros, Y nos abandonas tan largo tiempo?

Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time?

21 H aznos volver, oh Jehová, a ti, y nos volveremos; Renueva nuestros días como antaño.

Turn thou us unto thee, O Lord, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

22 S i es que no nos has desechado del todo, Airado contra nosotros en gran manera.

But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us.
