1 O h Jehová, tú me has escrutado y me conoces.

O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.

2 T ú conoces mi sentarme y mi levantarme; Percibes desde lejos mis pensamientos.

Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.

3 E scudriñas mi andar y mi reposo, Y todos mis caminos te son conocidos.

Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.

4 P ues aún no está la palabra en mi lengua, Y he aquí, oh Jehová, te la sabes toda.

For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.

5 P or detrás y por delante me rodeas, Y sobre mí tienes puesta tu mano.

Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.

6 T al conocimiento es demasiado maravilloso para mí; Demasiado alto es, no lo puedo alcanzar.

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

7 ¿ Adónde me iré lejos de tu espíritu? ¿Y adónde huiré de tu presencia?

Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

8 S i subo a los cielos, allí estás tú; Y si en el Seol trato de acostarme, he aquí, allí tú estás.

If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

9 S i tomara las alas del alba Y emigrara hasta el confín del mar,

If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

10 A un allí me alcanzaría tu mano, Y me agarraría tu diestra.

even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

11 S i dijese: Al menos las tinieblas me cubrirán, Y el día se tornará noche alrededor de mí,

If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

12 N i aun las tinieblas encubren de ti; Y la noche es tan luminosa como el día; Lo mismo te son las tinieblas que la luz.

Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

13 P orque tú formaste mis entrañas; Tú me tejiste en el vientre de mi madre.

For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.

14 T e alabo, porque formidables, prodigiosas son tus obras; Prodigio soy yo mismo, Y mi alma lo sabe muy bien.

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

15 N o fueron encubiertos de ti mis huesos, Aun cuando en oculto fui formado, Y entretejido en lo más profundo de la tierra.

My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

16 M i embrión lo veían tus ojos, Mis días estaban previstos, escritos todos en tu libro, Sin faltar uno.

Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

17 ¡ Cuán preciosos me son, oh Dios, tus pensamientos! ¡Cuán grande es la suma de ellos!

How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

18 S i los enumero, se multiplican más que la arena; Si llego al fin, estoy aún contigo.

If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

19 ¡ Ah, si matases al malvado! ¡Si los hombres sanguinarios se apartaran de mí!

Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.

20 P orque ellos hablan de ti engañosamente; Tus enemigos se rebelan en vano contra ti.

For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.

21 ¿ No odio, oh Jehová, a los que te aborrecen, Y me enardezco contra tus enemigos?

Do not I hate them, O Lord, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?

22 L os aborrezco por completo; Los tengo por enemigos míos.

I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.

23 E scudríñame, oh Dios, y conoce mi corazón; Pruébame y conoce mis pensamientos;

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

24 Y ve si hay en mí camino de perversidad, Y guíame en el camino eterno.

and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
