1 J ehová es mi luz y mi salvación; ¿de quién temeré? Jehová es la fortaleza de mi vida; ¿de quién he de atemorizarme?

The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread?

2 C uando se juntaron contra mí los malignos, mis angustiadores y mis enemigos, Para comer mis carnes, ellos tropezaron y cayeron.

When evildoers came upon me to devour my flesh, My adversaries and my enemies, they stumbled and fell.

3 A unque un ejército acampe contra mí, No temerá mi corazón; Aunque contra mí se levante guerra, Yo estaré confiado.

Though a host encamp against me, My heart will not fear; Though war arise against me, In spite of this I shall be confident.

4 U na cosa he demandado a Jehová, ésta buscaré; Que esté yo en la casa de Jehová todos los días de mi vida, Para contemplar la hermosura de Jehová, y para inquirir en su templo.

One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord And to meditate in His temple.

5 P orque él me esconderá en su tabernáculo en el día del mal; Me ocultará en lo reservado de su morada; Sobre una roca me pondrá en alto.

For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock.

6 L uego levantará mi cabeza sobre mis enemigos que me rodean, Y yo sacrificaré en su tabernáculo sacrificios de júbilo; Cantaré y entonaré alabanzas a Jehová.

And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me, And I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.

7 O ye, oh Jehová, mi voz con que a ti clamo; Ten misericordia de mí, y respóndeme.

Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice, And be gracious to me and answer me.

8 M i corazón ha dicho de ti: Buscad mi rostro. Tu rostro buscaré, oh Jehová;

When You said, “ Seek My face,” my heart said to You, “Your face, O Lord, I shall seek.”

9 N o escondas tu rostro de mí. No apartes con ira a tu siervo; Mi ayuda has sido. No me dejes ni me desampares, Dios de mi salvación.

Do not hide Your face from me, Do not turn Your servant away in anger; You have been my help; Do not abandon me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation!

10 A unque mi padre y mi madre me dejaran, Con todo, Jehová me recogerá.

For my father and my mother have forsaken me, But the Lord will take me up.

11 E nséñame, oh Jehová, tu camino, Y guíame por senda de rectitud A causa de mis enemigos.

Teach me Your way, O Lord, And lead me in a level path Because of my foes.

12 N o me entregues a la voluntad de mis enemigos; Porque se han levantado contra mí testigos falsos, y los que respiran crueldad.

Do not deliver me over to the desire of my adversaries, For false witnesses have risen against me, And such as breathe out violence.

13 H ubiera yo desmayado, si no creyese que veré la bondad de Jehová En la tierra de los vivientes.

I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living.

14 A guarda a Jehová; Esfuérzate, y aliéntese tu corazón; Sí, espera a Jehová.

Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord.
