1 J ustificados, pues, por la fe, tenemos paz para con Dios por medio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo;

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

2 p or quien también tenemos entrada por la fe a esta gracia en la cual estamos firmes, y nos gloriamos en la esperanza de la gloria de Dios.

through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.

3 Y no sólo esto, sino que también nos gloriamos en las tribulaciones, sabiendo que la tribulación produce paciencia;

And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;

4 y la paciencia, prueba; y la prueba, esperanza;

and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;

5 y la esperanza no averg: uenza; porque el amor de Dios ha sido derramado en nuestros corazones por el Espíritu Santo que nos fue dado.

and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

6 P orque Cristo, cuando aún éramos débiles, a su tiempo murió por los impíos.

For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.

7 C iertamente, apenas morirá alguno por un justo; con todo, pudiera ser que alguno osara morir por el bueno.

For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die.

8 M as Dios muestra su amor para con nosotros, en que siendo aún pecadores, Cristo murió por nosotros.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

9 P ues mucho más, estando ya justificados en su sangre, por él seremos salvos de la ira.

Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.

10 P orque si siendo enemigos, fuimos reconciliados con Dios por la muerte de su Hijo, mucho más, estando reconciliados, seremos salvos por su vida.

For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

11 Y no sólo esto, sino que también nos gloriamos en Dios por el Señor nuestro Jesucristo, por quien hemos recibido ahora la reconciliación. Adán y Cristo

And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

12 P or tanto, como el pecado entró en el mundo por un hombre, y por el pecado la muerte, así la muerte pasó a todos los hombres, por cuanto todos pecaron.

Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned—

13 P ues antes de la ley, había pecado en el mundo; pero donde no hay ley, no se inculpa de pecado.

for until the Law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

14 N o obstante, reinó la muerte desde Adán hasta Moisés, aun en los que no pecaron a la manera de la transgresión de Adán, el cual es figura del que había de venir.

Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.

15 P ero el don no fue como la transgresión; porque si por la transgresión de aquel uno murieron los muchos, abundaron mucho más para los muchos la gracia y el don de Dios por la gracia de un hombre, Jesucristo.

But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many.

16 Y con el don no sucede como en el caso de aquel uno que pecó; porque ciertamente el juicio vino a causa de un solo pecado para condenación, pero el don vino a causa de muchas transgresiones para justificación.

The gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned; for on the one hand the judgment arose from one transgression resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand the free gift arose from many transgressions resulting in justification.

17 P ues si por la transgresión de uno solo reinó la muerte, mucho más reinarán en vida por uno solo, Jesucristo, los que reciben la abundancia de la gracia y del don de la justicia.

For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

18 A sí que, como por la transgresión de uno vino la condenación a todos los hombres, de la misma manera por la justicia de uno vino a todos los hombres la justificación de vida.

So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life to all men.

19 P orque así como por la desobediencia de un hombre los muchos fueron constituidos pecadores, así también por la obediencia de uno, los muchos serán constituidos justos.

For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.

20 P ero la ley se introdujo para que el pecado abundase; mas cuando el pecado abundó, sobreabundó la gracia;

The Law came in so that the transgression would increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,

21 p ara que así como el pecado reinó para muerte, así también la gracia reine por la justicia para vida eterna mediante Jesucristo, Señor nuestro.

so that, as sin reigned in death, even so grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
