1 P rofecía sobre Egipto. He aquí que Jehová monta sobre una ligera nube, y entrará en Egipto; y los ídolos de Egipto temblarán delante de él, y desfallecerá el corazón de los egipcios dentro de ellos.

The oracle concerning Egypt. Behold, the Lord is riding on a swift cloud and is about to come to Egypt; The idols of Egypt will tremble at His presence, And the heart of the Egyptians will melt within them.

2 L evantaré egipcios contra egipcios, y cada uno peleará contra su hermano, cada uno contra su prójimo; ciudad contra ciudad, y reino contra reino.

“So I will incite Egyptians against Egyptians; And they will each fight against his brother and each against his neighbor, City against city and kingdom against kingdom.

3 Y el espíritu de Egipto se desvanecerá en medio de él, y destruiré su consejo; y preguntarán a sus imágenes, a sus hechiceros, a sus evocadores y a sus adivinos.

“Then the spirit of the Egyptians will be demoralized within them; And I will confound their strategy, So that they will resort to idols and ghosts of the dead And to mediums and spiritists.

4 Y entregaré a Egipto en manos de señor duro, y rey violento se enseñoreará de ellos, dice el Señor, Jehová de los ejércitos.

“Moreover, I will deliver the Egyptians into the hand of a cruel master, And a mighty king will rule over them,” declares the Lord God of hosts.

5 Y las aguas del mar faltarán, y el río se agotará y secará.

The waters from the sea will dry up, And the river will be parched and dry.

6 Y se alejarán los ríos, se agotarán y secarán las corrientes de los fosos; la caña y el carrizo serán cortados.

The canals will emit a stench, The streams of Egypt will thin out and dry up; The reeds and rushes will rot away.

7 L a pradera de junto al río, de junto a la ribera del río, y toda sementera del río, se secarán, se perderán, y no serán más.

The bulrushes by the Nile, by the edge of the Nile And all the sown fields by the Nile Will become dry, be driven away, and be no more.

8 L os pescadores también se entristecerán; harán duelo todos los que echan anzuelo en el río, y desfallecerán los que extienden red sobre las aguas.

And the fishermen will lament, And all those who cast a line into the Nile will mourn, And those who spread nets on the waters will pine away.

9 L os que labran lino fino y los que tejen redes serán confundidos,

Moreover, the manufacturers of linen made from combed flax And the weavers of white cloth will be utterly dejected.

10 p orque todas sus redes serán rotas; y se entristecerán todos los que hacen viveros para peces.

And the pillars of Egypt will be crushed; All the hired laborers will be grieved in soul.

11 C iertamente son necios los príncipes de Zoán; el consejo de los prudentes consejeros de Faraón se ha desvanecido. ¿Cómo diréis a Faraón: Yo soy hijo de los sabios, e hijo de los reyes antiguos?

The princes of Zoan are mere fools; The advice of Pharaoh’s wisest advisers has become stupid. How can you men say to Pharaoh, “I am a son of the wise, a son of ancient kings”?

12 ¿ Dónde están ahora aquellos tus sabios? Que te digan ahora, o te hagan saber qué es lo que Jehová de los ejércitos ha determinado sobre Egipto.

Well then, where are your wise men? Please let them tell you, And let them understand what the Lord of hosts Has purposed against Egypt.

13 S e han desvanecido los príncipes de Zoán, se han engañado los príncipes de Menfis; engañaron a Egipto los que son la piedra angular de sus familias.

The princes of Zoan have acted foolishly, The princes of Memphis are deluded; Those who are the cornerstone of her tribes Have led Egypt astray.

14 J ehová mezcló espíritu de vértigo en medio de él; e hicieron errar a Egipto en toda su obra, como tambalea el ebrio en su vómito.

The Lord has mixed within her a spirit of distortion; They have led Egypt astray in all that it does, As a drunken man staggers in his vomit.

15 Y no aprovechará a Egipto cosa que haga la cabeza o la cola, la rama o el junco.

There will be no work for Egypt Which its head or tail, its palm branch or bulrush, may do.

16 E n aquel día los egipcios serán como mujeres; porque se asombrarán y temerán en la presencia de la mano alta de Jehová de los ejércitos, que él levantará contra ellos.

In that day the Egyptians will become like women, and they will tremble and be in dread because of the waving of the hand of the Lord of hosts, which He is going to wave over them.

17 Y la tierra de Judá será de espanto a Egipto; todo hombre que de ella se acordare temerá por causa del consejo que Jehová de los ejércitos acordó sobre aquél.

The land of Judah will become a terror to Egypt; everyone to whom it is mentioned will be in dread of it, because of the purpose of the Lord of hosts which He is purposing against them.

18 E n aquel tiempo habrá cinco ciudades en la tierra de Egipto que hablen la lengua de Canaán, y que juren por Jehová de los ejércitos; una será llamada la ciudad de Herez.

In that day five cities in the land of Egypt will be speaking the language of Canaan and swearing allegiance to the Lord of hosts; one will be called the City of Destruction.

19 E n aquel tiempo habrá altar para Jehová en medio de la tierra de Egipto, y monumento a Jehová junto a su frontera.

In that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the Lord near its border.

20 Y será por señal y por testimonio a Jehová de los ejércitos en la tierra de Egipto; porque clamarán a Jehová a causa de sus opresores, y él les enviará salvador y príncipe que los libre.

It will become a sign and a witness to the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the Lord because of oppressors, and He will send them a Savior and a Champion, and He will deliver them.

21 Y Jehová será conocido de Egipto, y los de Egipto conocerán a Jehová en aquel día, y harán sacrificio y oblación; y harán votos a Jehová, y los cumplirán.

Thus the Lord will make Himself known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the Lord in that day. They will even worship with sacrifice and offering, and will make a vow to the Lord and perform it.

22 Y herirá Jehová a Egipto; herirá y sanará, y se convertirán a Jehová, y les será clemente y los sanará.

The Lord will strike Egypt, striking but healing; so they will return to the Lord, and He will respond to them and will heal them.

23 E n aquel tiempo habrá una calzada de Egipto a Asiria, y asirios entrarán en Egipto, y egipcios en Asiria; y los egipcios servirán con los asirios a Jehová.

In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrians will come into Egypt and the Egyptians into Assyria, and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians.

24 E n aquel tiempo Israel será tercero con Egipto y con Asiria para bendición en medio de la tierra;

In that day Israel will be the third party with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth,

25 p orque Jehová de los ejércitos los bendecirá diciendo: Bendito el pueblo mío Egipto, y el asirio obra de mis manos, e Israel mi heredad.

whom the Lord of hosts has blessed, saying, “Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance.”
