1 Î n zilele acelea s-a adunat din nou o mare mulţime de oameni şi nu aveau ce să mănânce. Isus i-a chemat pe ucenici şi le-a zis:

In those days, the multitude being very great and having nothing to eat, Jesus called His disciples to Him and said to them,

2 – Mi-e milă de mulţime, pentru că sunt deja trei zile de când stau cu Mine şi nu au ce să mănânce,

“I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat.

3 i ar dacă-i las să plece acasă flămânzi, vor leşina pe drum, mai ales că unii dintre ei au venit de departe.

And if I send them away hungry to their own houses, they will faint on the way; for some of them have come from afar.”

4 U cenicii I-au zis: – De unde ar putea lua cineva pâini aici, în pustie, ca să-i sature pe aceşti oameni ?

Then His disciples answered Him, “How can one satisfy these people with bread here in the wilderness?”

5 I sus i-a întrebat: – Câte pâini aveţi? – Şapte, I-au răspuns ei.

He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven.”

6 I sus a poruncit mulţimii să se aşeze pe pământ. Apoi a luat cele şapte pâini, a adus mulţumiri, le-a frânt şi le-a dat ucenicilor Săi ca să le împartă, iar ei le-au împărţit mulţimii.

So He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And He took the seven loaves and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples to set before them; and they set them before the multitude.

7 M ai aveau şi câţiva peştişori; El i-a binecuvântat şi a zis să fie împărţiţi şi aceştia.

They also had a few small fish; and having blessed them, He said to set them also before them.

8 A u mâncat şi s-au săturat; şi au adunat şapte coşuri pline cu firimiturile rămase.

So they ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets of leftover fragments.

9 C ei ce mâncaseră erau în jur de patru mii de bărbaţi. După ce le-a dat drumul,

Now those who had eaten were about four thousand. And He sent them away,

10 I sus S-a suit imediat în barcă împreună cu ucenicii Lui şi s-au dus în părţile Dalmanutei. Fariseii cer un semn

immediately got into the boat with His disciples, and came to the region of Dalmanutha. The Pharisees Seek a Sign

11 F ariseii au venit la El, au început să stea de vorbă cu El şi, ca să-L pună la încercare, I-au cerut să le arate un semn din cer.

Then the Pharisees came out and began to dispute with Him, seeking from Him a sign from heaven, testing Him.

12 I sus a oftat adânc în duhul Său şi a zis: „De ce cere această generaţie un semn? Adevărat vă spun că acestei generaţii nu i se va da nici un semn.“

But He sighed deeply in His spirit, and said, “Why does this generation seek a sign? Assuredly, I say to you, no sign shall be given to this generation.” Beware of the Leaven of the Pharisees and Herod

13 A poi i-a lăsat, S-a suit iarăşi în barcă şi S-a dus de cealaltă parte a mării. Drojdia fariseilor şi a lui Irod

And He left them, and getting into the boat again, departed to the other side.

14 U cenicii uitaseră să ia pâini şi nu aveau cu ei în barcă decât o pâine.

Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, and they did not have more than one loaf with them in the boat.

15 I sus i-a avertizat şi le-a zis: „Fiţi atenţi şi feriţi-vă de drojdia fariseilor şi de drojdia lui Irod!“

Then He charged them, saying, “Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.”

16 E i au început să vorbească unii cu alţii şi să spună: „ Ne zice aşa pentru că nu avem pâini!“

And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “ It is because we have no bread.”

17 Î nţelegând aceasta, Isus le-a zis: – De ce vorbiţi între voi că n-aveţi pâini? Tot nu pricepeţi, nici nu înţelegeţi? Aveţi inima împietrită?

But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, “Why do you reason because you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Is your heart still hardened?

18 A veţi ochi, dar nu vedeţi şi aveţi urechi, dar nu auziţi? Nu vă mai amintiţi,

Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember?

19 a tunci când am frânt cele cinci pâini la cei cinci mii de oameni, câte coşuri pline cu firimituri aţi adunat? – Douăsprezece, I-au răspuns ei.

When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did you take up?” They said to Him, “Twelve.”

20 – Iar când am frânt cele şapte pâini la cei patru mii de bărbaţi, câte coşuri pline cu firimituri aţi adunat? – Şapte, au răspuns ei.

“Also, when I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of fragments did you take up?” And they said, “Seven.”

21 A tunci El le-a zis: – Tot nu înţelegeţi? Isus vindecă un orb la Betsaida

So He said to them, “How is it you do not understand?” A Blind Man Healed at Bethsaida

22 A u venit în Betsaida. I-au adus un orb şi L-au rugat să Se atingă de el.

Then He came to Bethsaida; and they brought a blind man to Him, and begged Him to touch him.

23 I sus l-a luat pe orb de mână şi l-a dus afară din sat. A scuipat pe ochii acestuia, Şi-a pus mâinile peste el şi l-a întrebat: – Vezi ceva?

So He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town. And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything.

24 O mul s-a uitat şi a zis: – Văd nişte oameni, dar mi se par ca nişte copaci care umblă!

And he looked up and said, “I see men like trees, walking.”

25 A tunci Isus Şi-a pus din nou mâinile peste ochii acestuia, iar omul a privit ţintă şi i-a revenit vederea; acum el vedea toate lucrurile clar.

Then He put His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly.

26 I sus l-a trimis acasă, spunându-i: – Să nu intri în sat (şi nici să nu spui cuiva în sat)! Mărturisirea de credinţă a lui Petru

Then He sent him away to his house, saying, “Neither go into the town, nor tell anyone in the town.” Peter Confesses Jesus as the Christ

27 I sus şi ucenicii Lui s-au dus spre satele Cezareii lui Filip. Pe drum, Isus i-a întrebat pe ucenicii Săi: – Cine zic oamenii că sunt Eu?

Now Jesus and His disciples went out to the towns of Caesarea Philippi; and on the road He asked His disciples, saying to them, “Who do men say that I am?”

28 E i I-au răspuns: – Unii zic că eşti Ioan Botezătorul, alţii zic că eşti Ilie, iar alţii zic că eşti unul dintre profeţi.

So they answered, “John the Baptist; but some say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.”

29 – Dar voi cine ziceţi că sunt Eu? i-a mai întrebat El. Petru a răspuns: – Tu eşti Cristosul!

He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered and said to Him, “You are the Christ.”

30 I sus i-a avertizat să nu spună nimănui despre El. Isus vorbeşte despre moartea şi învierea Sa

Then He strictly warned them that they should tell no one about Him. Jesus Predicts His Death and Resurrection

31 A poi a început să-i înveţe că Fiul Omului trebuie să sufere mult şi să fie respins de către bătrâni, de către conducătorii preoţilor şi de către cărturari, să fie omorât, iar după trei zile să învie.

And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

32 L e vorbea deschis despre aceasta. Petru însă L-a luat deoparte şi a început să-L mustre.

He spoke this word openly. Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him.

33 D ar Isus S-a întors, s-a uitat la ucenicii Săi şi l-a mustrat pe Petru, zicând: „Înapoia Mea, Satan, căci tu nu te gândeşti la lucrurile lui Dumnezeu, ci la lucrurile oamenilor!“

But when He had turned around and looked at His disciples, He rebuked Peter, saying, “Get behind Me, Satan! For you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.” Take Up the Cross and Follow Him

34 A poi a chemat mulţimea şi pe ucenicii Săi şi le-a zis: „Dacă vrea cineva să vină după Mine, să se lepede de sine, să-şi ia crucea şi să Mă urmeze!

When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

35 C ăci oricine vrea să-şi salveze viaţa, o va pierde, dar cel ce-şi pierde viaţa pentru Mine şi pentru Evanghelie, o va salva.

For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.

36 Ş i la ce i-ar folosi unui om să câştige întreaga lume, dacă şi-ar pierde sufletul?

For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?

37 S au ce va da un om în schimbul sufletului său?

Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

38 C ăci de cel ce îi va fi ruşine de Mine şi de cuvintele Mele, în această generaţie adulteră şi păcătoasă, de acela Îi va fi ruşine şi Fiului Omului când va veni în slava Tatălui Său, cu sfinţii îngeri.“

For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”
