1 P ero en cuanto a ti, enseña lo que está de acuerdo con la sana doctrina:

But say the things which fit sound doctrine,

2 L os ancianos deben ser sobrios, dignos, prudentes, sanos en la fe, en el amor, en la perseverancia.

that older men should be temperate, sensible, sober minded, sound in faith, in love, and in patience:

3 A simismo, las ancianas deben ser reverentes en su conducta, no calumniadoras ni esclavas de mucho vino. Que enseñen lo bueno,

and that older women likewise be reverent in behavior, not slanderers nor enslaved to much wine, teachers of that which is good;

4 p ara que puedan instruir (exhortar) a las jóvenes a que amen a sus maridos, a que amen a sus hijos,

that they may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,

5 a que sean prudentes, puras, hacendosas en el hogar, amables, sujetas a sus maridos, para que la palabra de Dios no sea blasfemada.

to be sober minded, chaste, workers at home, kind, being in subjection to their own husbands, that God’s word may not be blasphemed.

6 A simismo, exhorta a los jóvenes a que sean prudentes.

Likewise, exhort the younger men to be sober minded;

7 M uéstrate en todo como ejemplo de buenas obras, con pureza de doctrina, con dignidad,

in all things showing yourself an example of good works; in your teaching showing integrity, seriousness, incorruptibility,

8 c on palabra sana e irreprochable, a fin de que el adversario se avergüence al no tener nada malo que decir de nosotros.

and soundness of speech that can’t be condemned; that he who opposes you may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say about us.

9 E xhorta a los siervos a que se sujeten a sus amos en todo, que sean complacientes, no contradiciendo,

Exhort servants to be in subjection to their own masters, and to be well-pleasing in all things; not contradicting;

10 n o defraudando, sino mostrando toda buena fe, para que adornen la doctrina de Dios nuestro Salvador en todo respecto.

not stealing, but showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God, our Savior, in all things.

11 P orque la gracia de Dios se ha manifestado, trayendo salvación a todos los hombres,

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,

12 e nseñándonos, que negando la impiedad y los deseos mundanos, vivamos en este mundo sobria, justa y piadosamente,

instructing us to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we would live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world;

13 a guardando la esperanza bienaventurada y la manifestación de la gloria de nuestro gran Dios y Salvador Cristo Jesús.

looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ;

14 E l se dio por nosotros, para redimirnos de toda iniquidad y purificar para Si un pueblo para posesion Suya, celoso de buenas obras.

who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works.

15 E sto habla, exhorta y reprende con toda autoridad. Que nadie te menosprecie.

Say these things and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no man despise you.
