1 L ăudaţi pe Domnul! Ferice de omul care se teme de Domnul, şi care are o mare plăcere pentru poruncile Lui!

Praise ye Jehovah. Blessed is the man that feareth Jehovah, That delighteth greatly in his commandments.

2 S ămînţa lui va fi puternică pe pămînt; neamul oamenilor fără prihană va fi binecuvîntat.

His seed shall be mighty upon earth: The generation of the upright shall be blessed.

3 E l are în casă bogăţie şi belşug, şi neprihănirea lui dăinuieşte în veci.

Wealth and riches are in his house; And his righteousness endureth for ever.

4 C elui fără prihană îi răsare o lumină în întunerec, El este milostiv, îndurător şi drept.

Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: He is gracious, and merciful, and righteous.

5 C e bine -i merge omului care face milă şi împrumută pe altul, şi care îşi rînduieşte faptele după dreptate!

Well is it with the man that dealeth graciously and lendeth; He shall maintain his cause in judgment.

6 C ăci el nu se clatină niciodată; pomenirea celui neprihănit ţine în veci.

For he shall never be moved; The righteous shall be had in everlasting remembrance.

7 E l nu se teme de veşti rele, ci inima lui este tare, încrezătoare în Domnul.

He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: His heart is fixed, trusting in Jehovah.

8 I nima îi este mîngîiată, n'are nicio teamă, pînă ce îşi vede împlinită dorinţa faţă de protivnicii lui.

His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, Until he see his desire upon his adversaries.

9 E l este darnic, dă celor lipsiţi; milostenia lui ţine în veci; capul i se înalţă cu slavă.

He hath dispersed, he hath given to the needy; His righteousness endureth for ever: His horn shall be exalted with honor.

10 C el rău vede lucrul acesta, şi se mînie, scrîşneşte din dinţi şi se topeşte. Poftele celor răi rămîn neîmplinite.

The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; He shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: The desire of the wicked shall perish.
